Wonderful day for my mums 80th birthday

It was a gift for my dad for Father's Day. He is 80 this year and the whole experience took him right back to his trainspotting days as a child.

Great staff. Would recommend, went for coffee and cake really enjoyed it, other things are available

What a wonderful afternoon, celebrating my Fiancés birthday and our engagement. Food was excellent, plentiful and piping hot. Could not fault anything.

We celebrated my husbands birthday on the Sunday lunch train. It was a wonderful experience from the minute we arrived at the station till the minute we left. The staff were attentive and pleasant. The food was outstanding. The weather was spectacular and the scenery along the way was wonderful. We had a birthday package which included a gift, card and small keepsake and a glass of fizz. To complement the package there was even bunting at the window. We shared our table with Ian and Julie (who we didn’t know-but they too were celebrating Julie’s birthday , and by the end of the trip we were friends) they were great company too.
Thanks Churnet Balley Railway we had the best time.
One spooky thing was… The number of the train was spookily relevant..,
5 (my date of birthday) 1 (Wayne’s date of birthday) 9 ( my month ) 7( Wayne’s month) !!

Lovely nostalgic experience, staff were professional and friendly.

The train took you back in time of steam engines..
It was beautiful inside. The staff was so polite, courteous and professional.
The food was delicious.
Will now be looking to return for a different experience.

Really enjoyed the train ride and the pies were delicious. One of our party has a mushroom allergy and Debbie went above and beyond to get him a pie with no trace of mushrooms. Thank you so much.

Birthday treat

What a lovely trip, definitely something we would do again.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The train journey had lovely scenery. The pie and mash meal was very tasty.

We all had a wonderful time on the Bombay Express.
We received a very warm welcome when we arrived at the train station and we were seated promptly in lovely comfortable carriage.
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very attentive.
Train ride was scenic and relaxing.
Can't wait to travel with you again.

First time visit ,food was very good, 3 courses. In Dianna carriage spotless. Only disappointment was no steam engine. Staff served very well

Excellent day out. Very friendly informative staff.

All the staff where helpful and friendly. And the ticket checker on the train remembered us from a previous visit so we had a nice chat with him.my grandson age 10 loves it and he had a nice bacon cob in the cafe before we got on the train

A five Star service from the moment of booking to alighting the train after a deliciously tasty meal.
Staff were friendly and accommodating and even went beyond to make our friends birthday a little more special. We told her not to press the red lever :-)
We took the Greek Dining option to celebrate the birthday but we will be back to sample the other dining options.
The only minor disappointment was that the dessert was not really as described on the menu but this didn't spoil a fun evening and an overall First Class experience.
