Our experience with Cesarine was extremely disappointing and highlights serious flaws in both their booking process and customer service.

We booked a cooking class believing it would take place in Naples, only to discover — less than 24 hours in advance — that the reservation was actually in Catania, on a completely different island. This is not a minor misunderstanding; it is a fundamental booking failure. A platform built entirely around location-based experiences should make it virtually impossible to confuse two cities that are this far apart.

Instead of acknowledging this issue, Cesarine hid behind automated reminders and generic policies. Repeating that emails contained the correct address does not excuse a booking flow that clearly failed to communicate one of the most critical elements of the experience.

What is most concerning is the complete lack of accountability and flexibility. Despite the obvious and significant mismatch, Cesarine refused any form of solution — no refund, no partial compensation, no credit, and no possibility to rebook. The response was rigid, transactional, and entirely indifferent to the situation.

Politeness in wording does not compensate for a total absence of customer care. This felt less like dealing with a hospitality platform and more like dealing with a system designed to deflect responsibility at all costs.

In summary:

A booking process that fails at the most basic level: clearly communicating location
Zero willingness to resolve an unreasonable situation
Customer service that prioritizes policy over fairness and common sense

We paid for an experience we never had, due to a preventable issue, and were left with no support or solution. Based on this experience, we would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when booking through this platform.

Der Pasta-Kochkurs war einfach großartig! Wir hatten einen extrem tollen und rundum gelungenen Abend. Die Atmosphäre war herzlich und entspannt, alles wurde super erklärt und wir konnten viel lernen. Es hat riesigen Spaß gemacht, gemeinsam frische Pasta zuzubereiten – und das Ergebnis war natürlich auch unglaublich lecker. Vielen Dank für dieses schöne Erlebnis, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Patrizia was the most wonderful host. Her house was simply perfect & the view of the lake & mountains cannot be beaten. We made the most delicious pasta & tiramisu. She was helpful in assisting us in finding a driver from the ferry to her house. I would highly recommend this class!

The Cesarine experience my friend and I booked was a visit to Margherite's olive farm. It was fabulous. Getting out into the countryside was itself a wonderful experience. Of course we expected to learn about olives & olive oil production... but we learned so much more, about restoring old trees, farming holistically, foraging for food, the interdependence of all living things, and more! These are the kinds of experiences that you cannot put a price tag on. Inspiring, exceptional, memorable.

The cooking class was a lot of fun. My wife and I were lucky that we were the only participants that day. Monica was extremely welcoming and the atmosphere of cooking in the old boat house what amazing. Monica made the cooking and making of pasta so easy. She explained everything and when we were done we enjoyed some local wine. Everything was top notch and we would love to do it again someday.

The reservation process was seamless to set up the experience. Our host was warm and inviting. She provided a charming and authentic cooking experience that was informative and fun. Would do this again anywhere in Italy.

We spent a lovely evening with Rosa. We attended the cooking class with three adults and three children. Rosa was a perfect host showing us multiple very tasty recipes, including tagliatelle, tortelloni e gnocchi. The kids already made their own tortelloni at home. We loved it.

The food was okay, it was a bit bland and for the price I was surprised there was no meat course. The details of the booking hadn’t been read, so she was unaware that there would be children present or that we specifically said no eggplant. She then proceeded to show that the booking did have those details included, she had just missed them. Directions for making contact weren’t clear. We showed up at the address and then waited outside for 10 minutes because we didn’t know which home to buzz, we almost left. She was very kind and I enjoyed the local cooking the hospitality and how welcoming the experience was, but I wouldn’t do it again.

We had a so much fun with Sole! She welcomed us warm and is a great teacher !

The great part of the experience was the actual cooking, and I can highly recommend taking advantage of these opportunities for intimate lessons in the homes of the chefs. That is a 5-Star experience.

However, be prepared for potential frustrations with the communications portal (hence the 4-Star rating). For our booking the Cesarine internet platform had issues. While our initial messages went fine, when we got close to the date things went silent and we found out later that the chef was not receiving our messages. Cesarine did not provide the direct contact information that they said would be in the confirmation so I had no way to bypass the platform, and I could not get any response from customer service. In the end it all worked out, but the platform can be challenging. Early communication is advised since last minute support is not dependable. This may have been because I booked through TripAdvisor, so you may wish to make your booking directly on the Cesarine site.

Mariuccia was fantastic. So pleasant and informative. We learned so much, ate so well, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We met some of her family members and felt like we made real friends. She even offered us a ride back to the next town where we were staying, so we wouldn't have to take a bus.

Everything about it was amazing. She made us feel welcome and totally at ease. She was very good at explaining all the cooking techniques and helping us learn, plus the food was delicious!

Io e mio marito siamo stati accolti dalla Signora Silvana come persone di famiglia, abbiamo imparato a tirare la pasta e a preparare lasagne e ravioli e un favoloso tiramisù. È stata un’esperienza bellissima che sicuramente ripeteremo perché ci siamo davvero trovati bene. Grazie Silvana!

We had a really enjoyable evening with Terese and her family. They made us feel so welcome, like friends. The food was exceptional, all home grown and cooked.
I would recommend this experience to anyone, we both absolutely loved it.

Fantastyczna przygoda🥰 właściciele domu, którzy nas gościli, z którymi gotowaliśmy i z którymi spędziliśmy wieczór konsumując przygotowane potrawy to przesympatyczni ludzie. Człowiek nie czuł się skrępowany, rozmowa nawet bez znajomości języka w dzisiejszych czasach jest możliwa za pomocą tłumacza. Jedzenie przepyszne POLECAM z całego serca i pozdrawiam

I was filled with so much gratitude for the way Sra Cri opened her home to me and my child. The experience far exceeded just learning to cook. Within two hours time I felt like I learned a skill but also gained a friend. She made no qualms about my baby not being focused for the entire session and gave them the opportunity to run and play outdoors while we continued. I am also an emerging Italian language speaker and she even supported me with that ! I cannot believe how blessed I was to cross her path in this life’s journey. I am forever grateful for my experience. (tortellini and tagliatelle making)
