Wish I could leave a negative rating. Absolutely terrible airline with terrible staff with rules that are inconsistent throughout. I bought an empty lighter from Singapore almost a month ago as a gift for my boyfriend. I’ve been on multiple flights since, INCLUDING ONES WITH CEBU, and they let the lighter through, again because it was empty. At the airport in borocay (Caticlan) they didn’t let me take it, literally on my flights home after travelling all of Asia with it. Funniest part is my friend got through with a lighter with fuel just fine … Lol what are these double standards? Not to mention the seats are uncomfortable, they don’t provide the smallest necessities (water) and everyone is just rude. DO NOT TAKE CEBU

⚠️ WARNING: Avoid Cebu Pacific – Extremely Poor Customer Experience ⚠️
I want to share our recent experience with Cebu Pacific to warn others before booking.
We were scheduled to fly on flight 5J050 from Melbourne to Manila on 25 May, with a listed departure time of 00:30. Based on this, we arrived at Melbourne Airport at 8:30pm on 25 May — a full 4 hours before departure.
However, when we arrived, there were no Cebu Pacific check-in desks, no flight information displayed, and multiple airport staff had no idea what was going on — even after showing them our booking confirmation.
After nearly an hour on the phone with Cebu Pacific, we were told the flight had already departed at 00:30 earlier that SAME DAY (i.e. the morning of 25 May). At no point during booking was it made clear that we needed to check in the night before (24 May). The date shown was simply “25 May” — which is incredibly misleading for a midnight flight.
To make matters worse:
• Customer service was completely unhelpful and showed zero empathy
• They refused to escalate us to management despite repeated requests
• They would only speak to one person in our group due to “verification issues”
• The live chat agents repeated scripted responses and eventually ended the chat
• No alternative flights, support, or solutions were offered
• We were left stranded at the airport with no assistance
This was not a passenger error — this was a failure in communication and clarity from Cebu Pacific.
As a result, we missed our flight, lost money, and experienced unnecessary stress and disruption to our travel plans.
If you are considering booking with this airline, be extremely cautious — especially with midnight flights. The way they present their flight times and dates is unclear, and their customer service is among the worst I have ever experienced.
We will be pursuing this further, but in the meantime, I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with Cebu Pacific
Hard cancelation process
Canceling my Cebu Pacific booking was a hassle. The refund process was confusing, slow, and required too many steps. Customer support didn’t make it easier, leaving me frustrated overall.

As usual they've cancelled again. Turned up at 7.30am for a 9.15 departure, only to be informed that they had cancelled the flight and rescheduled for 2.30 pm. Their reasoning, there wasn't a plane available. Wtf? Worst airline in the world. I've said it before, but this time is the last time I fly with this joke of an airline
Do Not book with Cebu Pacific!
I canceled my trip from USA to Philippines due to medical Illness. For two weeks, I have been trying to get a refund on my PI domestic flight indicating I cannot travel which is documented by my physician. Documents have been provided to Cebu Pacific, but they still will not refund me. They constantly ask the same questions over and over. It appears their strategy is to give you bad service hoping you will give up. I already reported them to my Visa credit card. I hope Visa will put them on a bad vendor list and collect all the money they are taking from their Visa customers. Cathay Pacific processed my 100% refund easily. Shame Shame Shame on Cebu Pacific!

Changed our flight time earlier from 6:45PM to 6:00PM, but ended up being delayed 4hrs anyway. One of their slogans is "where dreams fly", sounds about right, you flying on time is a really just a fantasy.

My flight was cancelled FOUR times in two days before departure. Each time I received a vague text message. When I asked for another flight, the ground staff just said: 'Sorry, all flights are either cancelled or fully booked. We can't do anything.' I had to buy a new ticket with another airline for triple the price. They offered zero help with rebooking. Absolutely unacceptable.
AVOID IF YOU CAN
Terrible Airline and underhand processes - try not to use. They automatically sell you travel insurance at the very end of the website bookings and it isn't worth the paper it is written on.
Poor Customer Service and Unfair Refund Process
My experience with Cebu Pacific has been extremely disappointing.
Our flights were rescheduled due to the airline’s operational restrictions, causing a delay of almost three days and completely disrupting our planned family holiday. We had already coordinated travel from different countries, booked arrangements, and planned everything in advance, so the sudden schedule change made the trip impossible for us.
I paid a total of 45,286.80 in full during the booking process through their website. After requesting a refund because the new schedule was no longer workable, I was informed that only part of the amount would be refunded. The airline claimed that the remaining balance was related to “insurance,” yet no proper refund breakdown or detailed explanation was initially provided.
What makes this frustrating is that the issue was caused by the airline’s operational changes, not by the passengers. Customers deserve transparency, fair treatment, and a clear explanation of all deductions, especially when full payment was made upfront.
I hope Cebu Pacific improves its customer service, refund transparency, and handling of passengers affected by flight disruptions

Personal reasons are valid also for a refund. Very poor customer service.

Mon sac à dos était parfaitement en règle et inclus sur le premier vol, mais une fois arrivé à Manille, le personnel de Cebu Pacific m'a forcé à payer un supplément de 135$ pour ce même sac ! C'est une arnaque totale de facturer un bagage déjà validé au départ. Ne volez jamais avec eux, ils cherchent la moindre excuse pour vous soutirer de l'argent.

I have provided all the necessary documents so I can rebook my flight because I am pregnant but they did not accept it. Ended up with my bookings getting canceled but when I sent a follow up about my refund I was informed that there was "no feedback". This experience is stressing me. One of the live agent had the audacity to disconnect on me. VERY Poor service.

I booked return flights with these incompetent idiots back in January for my Filipina fiancé and myself from Manila to Cebu because she was visiting relatives and friends there for a few days. Both flights cost me around £65gbp and I booked and paid online with no problems. A couple of days later I received an email telling me that they had altered my flight times. We wanted afternoon flights out and morning flights back. They altered the flight times from 3.15pm out to 3.45pm and the returns from 8.45am to 8.15am. A slight inconvenience as our hotel checkout was 11.00am, but no big deal as we decided to get to the airport really early and mooch about for a while. So we got to Ninoy, checked in and dropped our bags and did security, then we wandered down to our gate and waited, and waited some more, waiting for our flight to be announced, only it wasn't. Because they altered the gate at the last moment, but they didn't do anything helpful like announce it. The first that we learned about it was a list of names being called telling us to go to a completely different gate on the other side of the terminal. Cue several dozen panic struck passenger all rushing for the new gate where we were loaded onto an airport bus and driven at speed to our flying Jeepney.
That was the easy part. Now the screaming starts.
Our return flights were at the ammended time of 8.15am. So we got up early and booked a Grab to get us to the airport for 7.00am. On the booking confirmation it said that we had to check in 45 minutes before our flight and be at the gate 20 minutes before flight time, so no worries, eh? Wrong! We got to check in at 7.15am, there was one desk open where a harassed looking girl was having an argument with a plump middle aged Filipina, so we waited while this contratempt went on and got to the desk at 7.25am. No problem because we had 5 minutes to check in and a full 25 minutes to saunter down to our gate. Wrong again because we were then informed that the gate had closed at 7.20am, there was nothing that they could do about it, they couldn't reschedule us and we would be listed as flown. The only thing that they could do was to advise us to go to the booking office at the airport, which didn't open until 9.00am and rebook, ie book and pay for new flights. Which seemed to be our only option, so we joined a queue of other disgruntled passengers with similar grievances and waited to be seen. Eventually we were ushered into what appeared to be a broom cupboard with a computer on a makeshift counter in the corner only to have it confirmed that we'd lost our flights, through no fault of ours, but it also appeared by some twisted logic, to be no fault of theirs either. Maybe it was an act of god or some strange time distortion. But they could help us out, the next day and at a cost of 22,000 pesos, for one way flights. That's four times the original price for half the service. At this point, my fiancé shin scraped me with her shoe to stop me from grabbing the guy behind the counter by the throat.
There was no way I was paying that. In the end I got on Air Asia's website and managed to book with them instead for less than half the cost. Still expensive for the Philippines, but a nicer aircraft, prettier cabin staff and a damn sight more professional than these morons. Ok, the flight was still the next day and it cost me a night in a hotel as well, but my fiancé is very pretty and life has it's compensations. But I would never fly with Cebu Pacific again.
Only recommend if you enjoy stress, the threat of violence and a complete lack of accountability on their part.
From "Cebu Cares" to "Cebu Lectures" – A condescending nightmare
If you enjoy being treated like a naughty schoolchild by overbearing gate staff, then Cebu Pacific is the airline for you.
Two years ago, I flew with them without any issues. My 7 kg hand luggage—the exact same bag I used today—was perfectly acceptable back then. Today, however, it was treated like a criminal offense. But the most insulting part wasn't the fee itself; it was the sheer arrogance and condescension of the staff at the Manila terminal.
We were lectured and "educated" in a tone that was profoundly patronizing. To make matters worse, their automated systems have the audacity to send "gentle reminders" about treating their staff with respect, while their own employees treat paying customers with utter contempt.
The irony is staggering. Their slogan might be "CebCares," but my experience today proved that CebDoesntCare. I will never step foot on one of their aircraft again. Save your money and your dignity—fly with an airline that actually understands professional courtesy and doesn't treat you like a toddler.
Terrible Customer
I am a digital nomad who travels the world to create videos and write my blog. I had purchased tickets in the Philippines to fly from Cagayan De Oro City to Cebu, and I ended up in the hospital and had to cancel my trip. I contacted Cebu Pacific about canceling my trip and was given Care Reference No. 12183246. It has been almost two months, and I have not had a reply about my Case. I sent a weekly email to get an update, but there was no reply. The last reply was on March 10, over a month ago. 4 additional emails have been sent, but there has been no reply. I even tried to do the live agent. I was hung up on by three people, and the fourth said they would email me an update on my case. No email was ever received. The customer service here is terrible, and I will never fly this airline. I would recommend finding another airline for your travels.

And then when it took 6 months they told him they would double the refund!! Then AI took over and he could never reach a real person again and got nothing f back!! CebuPacific is a total scam!! Despite all the very bad reviews on Cebu Pacific Air, we chose it either way because it is cheap. We have flown Both international and domestic with Them, and also with a connecting flight. No delays, our bags came with us, and we felt safe. The only bad thing is the service, especially the attitude in the airport, but we did not mind at all. If you want a cheap flight that gets you to where you have to be, you Can absolutely fly with cebu pacific

It was a horrible experience for an international flight. I've visited Seoul and flew back to Manila thru this horrible airline. They don't serve meal and I asked for a blanket because I was obviously cold but the attendant said it will cost money.
Never again and I will never recommend it to anyone.
