We took out Emergency Home cover so our Insurance company passed us on to Catalystservices uk

and organised a national company to unblock our toilets.
Attended by a pleasant young man within the 4hr target, job took less than 5mins, job done.....just awaiting insurance costs!!!!

Catalyst were used by my insurance company to fix a leak at a shared water access terraced house.
Catalyst used two contracting companies and visited my property three times. Each time with different workers so no continuity. Catalyst seem to keep them in the dark about what needs doing on a job. On each occasion, I had to brief the workers on what had been done and what I "thought" needed doing. this makes my confidence level hit rock bottom in dealing with them.

My leak was finally fixed so am awarding 2 stars!

However, during the repairs, these contractors had to remove several slabs in my shared access and outside my property. These slabs are now cracked and have been replaced unevenly. Being unsteady on my feet, these are wonky and a trip hazard.
They have also broke the concrete round the sewer drain,
The last contractor who was dealing with my complaint took many photos and did seem shocked by the breakages.
After a few weeks and chasing for a resolution, Catalyst office had no photos so I sent them what I had.
Unfortunately, and maybe predictably, the contractors are denying the damage.
I have asked about a complaints procedure and have waited three weeks and two follow up emails for a supervisor to get back to me.
Finally chased for a resolution. I have to repair at my own expense, the broken gulley £500, they will then replace and relay the slabs

Our blocked drain was dealt with the next day and the local contractor arranged by Catalyst was very efficient and friendly. Problem was resolved quickly once the contractor was on site.

Catalyst seemed great from our end when dealing with our Homeowners Insurance claim. They sent out a contractor very quickly and stayed in communication with us when they said they would. However, on repair day, the contractor had figured the issue out within an hour or so. He then called Catalyst to get approval for the repair, and had to sit in his van for over six hours waiting for a callback. He rang numerous other times, and his supervisors also tried chasing from their office, to no avail. He finally gave up and just did the quick 5-minute repair for us, but I felt so bad for him that his whole day was wasted just waiting for a callback from Catalyst that never came. That's really unacceptable in my opinion.

The company responded so quickly and kept me up to date. The workers were so polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The cost of the work was well worth the trouble of having a water leak.

Referred to by my insurance company who sent a sub contractor (Birmingham Drainage Services) to unblock my drains. The sub contractor jet wash the drain exposing poo and other waste onto my drive way. He said the problem wasn't in our drains in our garden and Severn Trent would need to come out which was fair enough. However the state he left my drive was disgusting. Nothing was cleared up and all the waste was left on the actual drive meaning we couldn't come out of our front door! We rang up to say Severn Trent would do their bit but they needed to send contractor back to clean up the mess he made. Obviously it didnt happen!

Although I had to call because they didn't arrive within the advised time, Birmingham Drain Co. arrived earlier than their revised time slot and did an excellent job. The engineer was extremely thorough, explained everything he was going to do and left everything very clean and tidy afterwards. The blockage was successfully cleared within 30 minutes and we are extremely satisfied with what was done and the way in which it was carried out.

Following notification by water board that we had a water leak somewhere underground on our property, our insurance company appointed Catalyst services, who were very prompt and efficient in carrying out repairs, this required digging up our block paving drive, after repairs everything was left neat and tidy with no evidence of any disruption

Blocked drain reported at 9am, fixed by 1pm

Paperwork took longer than the job. Disappointed that a firm of jet washers travelled fifty miles to do job but the men were efficient, helpful and pleasant.

My gutters were overflowing due to blocked drain. Cleared part of the drain.
Left mud stones from the blocked drain. If they'd not put the drain cover on the wrong way I'd have not seen. Contacted emergency cover again to advise mess in the drain not cleared and next down pour would wash the mud etc back along drain and block again. Poor response to this and my reply wasn't answered. Took me an hour to wash the mess away bit by bit. Next rain storm (2 days later) drain was still blocked where down pipe goes into drain with plastic something mud mess from roof. Once grill in drain removed was obvious to me so this should have been cleared too I had to clear in rain storm as the burst down pipes poured water over me as I struggled with my fingers up the drain pipe eventually was loosened enough and with a woush was cleared with mud and mess all over me. This should have been done by drain men as well as clearing mess from man hole. I won't be renewing my cover with this insurer very poor drain clearing by men. Poor response from insurer and then no response v Poor don't use this insurance company ! Or the emergency cover.
