Continuous Delays - Outdated Cancellation Policy

Placed my order on July 2. Checked in with Cask Cartel on July 19 - order had not yet been fulfilled by a retailer. When asked to cancel I was told they had a 30day window where the retailers can fulfill the order. Checked in again on August 4 (now past 30day window), and was told the retailer was going to create a label and be shipped that day. Asked Cask cartel to cancel the order since it had been over a month (and not yet "shipped"- they never responded. Checked in again August 14th, to request a cancellation and told I couldn't cancel because the product was finally arriving the next day 8/15. Overall disappointed with their 30day window cancellation policy - a bit outdated for current times. Orders should be able to be canceled anytime up to the point of a shipping label being created. I had to purchase an alternative product due to the continuous delays. I guess the silver lining is that I have an extra bottle of good whiskey on its way.

I ordered 3 bottles of rum ..

I ordered 3 bottles of rum ... a month later I received 2 bottles . One bottle was broken and I had the insurance on shipping, but after 12 emails I still have not received the broken bottle replacement or the 3rd bottle from the original order.

Wild seeing all these horrible reviews as the same thing happened to me.

I used to buy this tasty rum at Total Wine , Topper's Banana Vanilla , but they no longer have it in stock. I found it here , they stated it was only available by a case , which is fine as the price was 127.00 shipped which becomes around 21.00 each, ( retails around 17. ). Anyway , took forever to ship , then I finally receive it and it's 1 bottle , Huh ??

I emailed them and they proceeded to tell me my order was for 1 item ,

Now , if you look on the website the Rum is clearly sold as "per bottle for 95.00.

I located them on Google for a not very popular liquor. The ad said 6 bottles for about $105. After about a month waiting to receive my order, it shows up, one bottle. I go back to my confirmation emails and they changed the invoice to state "one bottle". Rip-off.

This was probably the worst alcohol…

This was probably the worst alcohol purchase experience I've ever had. I bought a Bitcoin Tequila bottle, which was for a birthday. Delivery via UPS was supposed to last a week and was pricier than the bottle itself. To my surprise, Cask Cartel managed to delay the entire delivery by shipping the bottle from France to the USA, to then ship it back to Europe (the Czech Republic), which was my delivery address. This entire ordeal lasted 3 weeks, which is nothing but absurd. And they bombard you with marketing newsletters every day, instead of focusing on at least some customer experience. You can keep the $50 compensation voucher, thank you, I'll never buy from you again.

This place is RIDICULOUS!!

This place is RIDICULOUS!!! Do yourself a favor and order from virtually ANYWHERE else!!! The single malt shop, the whiskey exchange, blackwell wine and spirits are all stand-up companies that I have personally ordered from and have excellent outcomes from all 3. This Cask Cartel is charging 2-3 times more than what the products are worth! And, from what I've read in the reviews, half the time you don't get what's advertised! If you order from this company MAKE SURE YOU READ THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1ST!!!!!

Cartel by name, Cartel by nature—rip off, avoid.

Bought a $29 whiskey because it was supposed to be exclusive, charged over $100 fur shipping that did show until after I’d paid. Now waited 21 days for it to ship, and it still hasn’t shipped, no idea when or if it will get here, communication is non existent, the chat service is awful and nothing is ever followed up as agreed.
I would avoid like the plague, for any potential people looking at them. The only thing true to description is in thier name “Cartel”, this is how the seem to operate, like a corrupt Cartel would.

They screwed me by sending the wrong thing. They billed me too much. When you complain you get dropped into a black hole. And I keep telling them to take me off their mailing list and they keep me on there as long as they do I’ll keep telling everyone what these terrible people do. Don’t buy anything from these people. They are crooks.

1 Star – Untrustworthy Company, Horrible Experience

Absolutely do not order from Cask Cartel. I placed an order and heard nothing for weeks. After over four weeks, I was suddenly told that UPS had attempted delivery—yet there was no slip, no notice, and no evidence. The package was supposedly returned to sender, and they then tried to charge me a 35% restocking fee for an item I never received.

Throughout this ordeal, I reached out to Cask Cartel multiple times via email and got little to no updates or helpful responses. It felt like they were dodging responsibility from the start.

I’ve now had to file a dispute with my credit card company just to get my money back. This company is completely unreliable and lacks even basic customer service. Stay far away.

In response to the reply from Cask: I know the address is correct because my father in law owns the building. There was no slip or anything showing UPS showed up. They Also did not offer multiple resolutions they said it was a 35% restocking fee no other real resolution was provided. I did ask them to prioritize the shipment and that wasn't done either.

Place is a scam

Lying scumbags

They listed a specific edition of a liquor, shipped me a different version, then said "we shipped what's in the pic" even though it's a different version and the listing explicitly mentioned the edition they were selling. Cask Cartel are a bunch of lying scumbags.

I ordered a case of wine and got a bottle

I ordered a case of wine. It made it seem after checkout that it was processing and my order would be shipped shortly. After 2 weeks of not receiving anymore correspondence, I emailed the customer service dept. They got back to me promptly saying that it’s shipping from Europe and I will be notified as soon as it’s ready. Two weeks after that I was sent one bottle of wine. I reached out to customer service with a photo of the box- shipping label and one bottle of wine- several days later they responded to me. Basically asking for more information and documentation? So I have paid $350 for a bottle of $30 wine.

I ordered a bottle of Jack Daniel’s winter jack. It cost me £170+ and I placed my order near the start of December and still don’t have the order it’s not been delivered I’ve sent them email after email. It is the biggest scam going down not order from them you will never get the order and you will waste your money.

Thieves.

Emphasis on cartel, this 'company' do not keep a stock of bottles, likely operate out of a small office, and instead purchase from much cheaper sites at your expense.

Their prices do not therefore reflect retail.
For spirits a typically £10 bottle is ~£170
For wines a £600 or so bottle is ~£4000 here.

They will even then, failing to find yours, send a much cheaper alternative to the item you've actually paid for and deny/obfuscate refunds.

This is an illegitimate business and a scam, do not buy/ dispute the transaction with your bank asap.

Buyer beware! I went to cask cartels site looking for a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 year 750 ml for my husband’s birthday. I ordered this (before shipping of $30) at a cost of $149.99. My mother did the same to get him a bottle of Wellers Special Reserve 750 ml she ordered this (before shipping of $30) at a cost of $199.99. While scrolling on Cask Cartels site I saw an overly alarming price on a bottle of Blantons that I had just purchased from sipwhiskey.com just a week before…. It was over double the price on Cask Cartels site. This alarmed me and I took to the internet and other sites to compare prices. And much to my dismay both the bottles we had just purchased from Cask Cartel were HALF THE PRICE everywhere else. I immediately called to cancel my order. Once I got cask cartels customer service on the phone and verified the order number she stated “oh that was just placed 10 minutes ago”. I acknowledged this and moved forward to request a cancellation. At this point she tells me “we don’t cancel orders”. They don’t cancel pending orders that are still processing 10 minutes after the order for a reason…. They are scumbags that rip people off and know exactly what they are doing by moving to give people no option. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs!! sipwhiskey.com is just one of many companies out there that offer rare and hard to find goods and they DO NOT PRICE GOUGE!!

Wrong Item Sent But Problem Ultimately Resolved

I purchased a specialty flavored Hotel Tango bourbon from Cask Cartel and I was sent the wrong item. It took a number of weeks to exchange the item for what I ordered, and there was a return shipping inconvenience, but after about a month it was resolved. I did finally get what I ordered, and the Cask Cartel representative appeared to be responsive and communicative through the process.

BEWARE. I wish I could leave zero stars for this scam operation.

I purchased a $300 bottle of wine from Cask Cartel after confirming that the specific bottle shown on their website was in stock. It was a “reserve” and limited production. I spoke to a representative and received email confirmation that it was indeed in stock, and made the purchase.

The item was purchased for an important client and to my suprise, when I received a thank you note and photo of the bottle delivered, I discovered that Cask Cartel had shipped a completely different bottle that is commonly $75 at most.

When customer service was contacted to resolve the issue, the only response was that Cask Cartel is a “marketplace” and can’t guarantee items that are sent by their vendors, but they would offer a refund amount on the difference in value on the item that had been bait and switched.

Of course, they arbitrarily established a grossly inflated amount of $200 for the bottle that was shipped instead of the one deceptively shown on their website and I was only able to recoup a small amount of the my purchase.

Tread very cautiously with this company.
They misrepresent hard to find items on their website and operate under extremely deceptive business practices.

Dealing with a Real Cartel Might Be Easier - Terrible Company

It's hard to add too much to what other reviewers have said here - this is a terrible company and you should run from ever dealing with them. I had a bad experience years ago with them. I forgot, they remembered. I ordered 6 bottles of Buffalo Trace in mid-December to give to clients. Mind you the price was 3x what I would pay locally but my local stores were out. I received zero order confirmation, shipping info, etc. They were certainly quick on the draw when it came to hitting my credit card though. After seeing nothing for several weeks I emailed as I finally found a status on my account which listed status as "restocked." Nothing about ship dates, etc. Instead of responding to my email they call today and indicate that my order had been put on hold because I disputed a credit card charge in 2021. The memories flooded back. After hearing nothing a month after an order I called them and they said they made multiple delivery attempts but there was no adult to sign. Doubt. The biggest issue is that you have no idea when something ships or when it supposed to arrive. So how do you even know whether what they say is true. At the time they offered no refund, which is why I disputed the charge. Because I did this, apparently all future orders I place would be automatically put on hold. Yet this is never communicated. After I frustrating conversation I simply requested they cancel the current order. The reply - that's up to the vendor.

So who the heck are we really dealing with here? You take our money, put orders on hold with no communication, offer zero shipping or order confirmation, how are you even still in business? Please learn from my mistake and the many other reviews on this site and take your business anywhere else but Cask Cartel.
