The people I've spoken to seemed to know everything that I need information about, and a lot more. Some of my long-standing questions were answered, which made me a lot less anxious. I worry a lot more than I should.
Also, your people made arrangements to take my care plan further, without the need for me to worry about anything.

CareAbout callers were all polite and encouraging.
Care About callers were all polite and friendly but reluctant to supply a list of providers until a tardy Services Aust had completed my claim. (still unfinalised now after 5 months) My Aged Care Website failure could not provide a list either. Finally, with the deadline expiry looming a week away, hasty action was necessary to secure an agreement with a provider with no time for me to properly research the nominated provider. Sue Johns was quite knowledgeable and I was comfortable with her choice and strategy to provide a quick solution. Her encouragement over the frustrating 13 month application process was appreciated.

A recommendation was made but failed, no follow up at all.
A recommendation was made, all seemed to be going well with the supposed new Provider. Then they cancelled due to my having bought my own equipment. This provider would not include equipment for those reasons.
Care about were informed & a new provider was needed.
No one from care about got back to me. No follow up to see how my supposed new provider was going. I was left in limbo to try & find a provider to cover equipment.

We understand how frustrating this experience must have been, especially when the arrangement with the provider didn’t proceed as expected even though your progress initially appeared to be on track.
In this instance, our understanding is that the services and pricing being requested fell outside the standard guidelines that providers are required to operate within under the Support at Home framework. While we always advocate for our customers, providers must adhere to these guidelines to ensure services remain compliant and sustainable.
That said, we acknowledge that we should have followed up more proactively once the provider advised they could no longer proceed. We apologise for this gap in communication and the inconvenience it caused.
We would welcome the opportunity to assist you further in finding a suitable provider who can meet your needs within the program guidelines. Please feel free to reach out to our team directly so we can support you in getting things back on track.
