Unprofessional, ignorant. Blames the customer for their mistakes. Sent me a battery to fit a moped, needed a battery to fit a 3700cc Mercedes. Wanted me to pay for the return nearly as expensive as the battery. Scrapped the battery and took the loss. BEWARE!!!!

Not sure how many people have had to use the warranty procedure but here is my experience. Item purchased was a Bosch S5A08 on 3/6/25. Last few weeks I had noticed the car telling me the battery was low and to drive it to recharge . It became clear the battery was not holding a charge. It has a 5 yr warranty. I looked up the procedures on their website and opted for me to return it for them to check it - I was notified they had received it via DPD . I get an email asking me if I took photos prior to packing it - I said no - I then very soon after receive another email stating that the battery is severely damaged and the warranty conditions not met - did I want it scrapped or returned? I asked for photos . They sent photos of a battery that had clearly been smacked on the corner with a hammer. They stated that as the packaging was undamaged I had obviously tried to fraudulently obtain a new one under warranty. I am in a position now where I cannot prove its condition prior to posting although If a battery was actually received in that condition there would be no need to ask if I had photos . The other puzzle is what benefits them to damage a battery rather than fulfil the warranty.
Needless to say I am disappointed and disgusted by the dishonesty shown by the returns dept at Dodworth Barnsley. I await replies from Police ,Barclays, Bosch , Citzens advice and Watchdog.

Ordered expecting 2-3 day delivery, initially asked to pay extra shipping fee (illegal in the uk to not publish all costs at point of sale). They did dispatch without cost via another courier, but item never arrived and 11 days later and neither the courier (DX) or CBM can let me know what’s going on.

*update: it’s now been a month and nothing.. having to chase a refund via bank

They say you don't know how good a company is until you experience their aftersales service and this is the case here:
I purchased a battery from this retailer and within 10 days it failed to start the car. I did the usual voltage checks on the battery and car alternator and found the battery to have one or more defective cells (rapid discharge). On contacting Car Battery Market, I was told that it would have to be returned for testing and I would have to wait for a replacement. I reluctantly agreed, as they organised pick up of the defective battery the next day. Both my wife and I were at home, but no-one knocked at the door. I contacted the retailer, as it was impossible to contact DX Deliveries. They claimed that the delivery driver had been to our house and had a photo of our front door taken from outside the boundary gate and disputed I was telling the truth. They said they would need to investigate it further, but that they would always side with the courier and I would now have to pay for any pickup!! I demanded a refund, as I couldn't wait for a replacement and was angry that they basically called me a liar. They refused the refund, so I am now pursuing this through the credit card/payment company.

I have now bought the same quality battery from Amazon at the same price, but delivery is free with Amazon and guarantees on refunds/replacements are significantly better than this Car Battery Market.

looking for 2 batteries for 2003 Toyota landcruiser.Chose Varta as best match for existing Toyota batteries as to size and specification,good price and location of poles and BD had both.Delivered next day by standard delivery.Good service.

Absolutely appalling service. Wrong battery sent. Tried calling well over a dozen times and resulted to emailing. Paid £25 for a courier to collect. Waited in all day and was a no show, back to emailing again and rebooked. Once again waited in all day for yet another no show!
No refund for courier or the battery. One month on I am £100 down battery still sitting in my hallway. Mo apologies no attempt to rectify the situation!

Was looking for a new battery for my GLA and found this company which turned out to be a great choice, price fully delivered was half of all others I had looked at. A small note to those who own a GLA or other Mercedes is that the cable terminals need a small alteration to fit the battery.
