As of the end of 2023, Candid ceased all direct-to-consumer clear aligner products and services, and are no longer associated with this profile. Candid announced this change via news publications, on its website, and in digital communications to its customers. In the two years following the announcement, Candid assisted customers who had purchased aligner kits in completing their treatments, obtaining refunds, and beginning retention. The final day to purchase retainers as a direct-to-consumer customer was March 8th, 2024. Candid no longer provides aligners, retainers, treatment accessories, dental records, or refunds to direct-to-consumer customers. Those seeking clear aligners or retainers manufactured by Candid should work with a dental provider who uses their CandidPro product.

Do yourself a favor and use Invisalign, not Candid
I started my candid treatment right before they closed down their straight to consumer model. It’s been a nightmare. During my second to last aligners, I noticed weird spacing issues and a bite issue. I called their customer service number and was told I had to wait until I was done with my last aligner to tell them I needed adjustments.
After my last aligner, when I sent in my last photo scans, I was told I was done and that was it! Just a few directions on how to wear my aligners for the next few weeks. There was NO opportunity to let them know there were issues. They didn’t ask even ask!
Then when you try to call customer service they left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. I tell them I have issues and they send me a canned email. I do what the directions say on the email and never get a response!
The bite issues are so bad, I have a hard time eating and only feel comfortable when my aligners are in my mouth because my teeth gnash together.
I really need to talk with a supervisor but it’s like a fortress reaching them.
Did not work!
I started my treatment in December 2021 and still wearing them 22 hours a day. They were sore in the beginning and that is why I thought they would be great. Well, after all this time, August 22, I have not had a single tooth move. My complaint was crowded teeth and they did nothing! If you can't fix it, don't say you can. I can't get my money back because I actually "did the treatment" Candid says they will refund your money if you are not satisfied with your treatment. That's a lie! It's if you don't like your treatment "plan". How do you know if you are satisfied when you haven't gone through the treatment???? Very unhappy!!!!
Buyer Beware
I started with Candid in April of 2021. The Olán was supposed to be 8 mo. It is now Aug of 2022. They say I am done. I had a lot of crowding on the bottom teeth. My teeth are not totally straight and my bite is not correct. I am done with this company.
There is absolutely no support. Canned responses after every scan. My advancement was stopped because they said plaque had solidified my teeth. My dentist said this was totally false while doing the cleaning. She also said that she has. Seen numerous cases of Candid customers having to pay for real Otho care after using this product. I too am seeking Ortho care next month to see if I need a real professional to fix the rest of my problems.
Also, if I am ok to live with the results, I am going to get a real set of retainers that will last 10 years instead of their product that lasts 6 mo to possibly a year at $100 a set.
So buyer beware and rethink if you want to go this route. Might be great for a tooth ir two that is out if place.
Note: Still getting emails to compete a scan even though my program is complete (told via chat).
Not Great, Conflicting service levels, just go to the real professionals
I’ve had regular braces, Invisalign, and Candid. I would not recommended Candid. They are affordable, yes but the quality of the aligners and the service varies wildly. My boyfriend and I did them at the same time. He regularly skipped ahead, which is “non-compliant” but never was reprimanded or called out. He liked his experience. I had one aligner completely misfit due to a failure in production process and had to delay and wait for a replacement halfway through treatment. The aligners always felt sharp and uncomfortable, not nearly as pleasant of an experience as Invisalign. They gave me such a bad lisp I could only where them at night and not 22-24 like I could with Invisalign. Because of this candid told me I was non compliant, at my very last step, and told me they were closing my monitoring account and not supporting me anymore. So my boyfriends noncompliance was acceptable but somehow mine was not. His aligners did not irritate him and were not messed up in production, but mine were.
Two completely different experiences. If you’re broke, Candid is an OK option but don’t expect great support. If you can spend more money just do Invisalign. A thousand times better.
So happy with the results!
I began my treatment in December of 2019, and completed the last set of aligners in July 2020. Honestly this was the best decision I ever made. I always dreamed of perfectly straight teeth and this program gave me exactly what I hoped for.
WORST EXPERIENCE AT CANDID
My treatment was supposed to be about 8 months or so. It has now been 3 years and I am still waiting for them to send me an impression kit so we can correct my original treatment plan (for the fourth time). Apparently their "orthodontists" don't know what they are doing when they create your treatment plan and approve the design of your aligners. Even if you follow their treatment plan perfectly you will still encounter issues. Brace yourself for headaches, long wait times on the phone with their customer service department (that takes over 1-2 hours to answer your call and then not follow through with what was discussed during the call), and unexpected up-sales for things required to fix your treatment plan. Worst experience ever and a total waste of time and money.

At the end of February 2022 I mailed in new impressions of my teeth due to the “dentist” in charge of my case stopping the monitoring of my teeth. The reason the “dentist” stopped the monitoring was because the aligners were not fitting properly in my mouth. On March 3rd, I received an email notifying me that the company had received my new impressions and they’d be working on new aligners for me. I haven’t heard anything since and I’ve been making payments for their product. At this point, I believe I’m due a refund.

Worst customer service that iv ever experienced. If you have any issues with your aligners good luck getting the help you need. They are terrible at returning emails or phone calls. I would not recommend!
Not worth the money you might save
My dentist and I are very unhappy with my experience with Candid. Their aligners made my teeth worse and I now have a posterior open bite which wasn’t present before. They won’t give me my money back because they claim I didn’t finish treatment, but I did. I didn’t finish their “refinement,” which my dentist strongly believes is not enough to fix my teeth. I used the company in order to save time and money but it’s ultimately costing me more because I have to do two years of Invisalign to correct the damage. They never should have taken on my case in the first place.

Hey I'm truly unhappy with the service .it's been almost two years and I'm still on step one. It's also very difficult to due thus virtually. It's really unfortunate to pay for a product and not being satisfied. I'm paying almost 3000 dollars for a product that hasn't worked for me . I honestly just want a refund. Nobody checks up on you for your progress . There's no true patient provider interaction . After 2 years I literally got no where when it comes to progress.

I heard about Candid from two friends who instantly saw results with Candid aligners.
Unfortunately, my experience with Candid has been nothing short of disastrous.
I decided to get my impressions in person at the Santa Monica Candid studio and while the employees were kind, the process that ensued after my in person visit was awful. I went in for impressions in October 2021 - I was told that I would receive a treatment plan within two weeks. I called Candid customer service three weeks later to notify them that I hadn't received any correspondence. The first representative assured me that I would receive them soon.
These back and forth calls with Candid's customer service lasted two months. All because of mistakes made by the Santa Monica studio.
I received my aligners on 2/15/22. When you first receive your aligners, you must submit scans of your teeth using a dental monitoring device and one of the pieces used in this process did not fit my mouth. I didn't think that was the case until I received rejection emails for TWO scans that I had taken. When I reached out to Candid's customer service today (2/16/22) on live chat, Wynter (a Candid rep) to request expedited shipping on a smaller size - as I am convinced that is the cause of my inaccurate scans - I was told that they "I will see what I can do!" I've engaged with numerous Candid representatives and I have felt the lack of empathy and sense of urgency disappointing. I am paying for these aligners out of pocket.
Please note, this is my experience with Candid. I would not recommend it because of their lack of transparency and communication. I'd much rather a hassle-free experience with someone else and pay the extra $.
They wanted more money to finish
Aligners got me about 90% of the way there and then I was told I would need to pay $800 more for refinements when my teeth did not match the previews that were shown to me. I was marked as a non compliant patient even though I went back through steps when told to and was approved to go ahead by the orthodontist.
After two years, I now know the technology just doesn't work
The fact is, their technology doesn't work. After two years of treatment with Candid I’m in a worse position than when I started, with a bad bite, which is a more serious problem than the minor crowding I started with. It's so hard to get in touch with anyone, and it's hard to believe there's a real orthodontist paying any attention.
Candid does not use attachments, unlike Invisalign, which means they have less control over how teeth track with the plan. For me—and I wore them diligently—they did not.
My first set of aligners was 20 sets and I completed them on my own with no contact from Candid. They largely fixed my crowding but worsened my bite. I thought that with some refinements we could fix things up. After waiting few a few months due to COVID I started a 10-set refinements plan. Part-way through the plan I realized that it was actually making things worse, causing a tooth to rotate. They put me on their "remote monitoring" system, which would let an orthodontist monitor my treatment using phone photos. I assumed that the orthodontist would agree that this wasn't working and we could get some new aligners. Not the case. All they did was slow the treatment down, at one point I had only moved two steps in three months. The only messages supposedly from the orthodontist were obviously canned and non-specific. I really don't believe anyone was paying attention as the aligners began to have large gaps and my teeth got worse.
I got scans for a second refinements set, but after this experience I decided not to proceed. My dentist explained that without the attachments and actual monitoring, the movement is unpredictable and likely would never succeed.
So in sum, Candid's attachment-free technology simply does not work, and their "monitoring" seems to only provide a false sense of confidence.

i have talked to three different about how my aligners don’t fit since i couldn’t wear them for a month since i has covid. no one has gotten back to me at all. the only thing that has happened is i had to retake some pictures.

I am enjoying my new journey with Candid. Although, I had one concern about my gum line. I did an online chat with customer service. It was a great conversation. They asked me to submit many photos and for me to send them out to customer service email address. I have not heard of a response.
Other than that, I have had a great journey!
Candid is the best choice for aligners!
I have been using Candid now for 3 months and I absolutely love it. At my consultation appointment, the staff was so friendly, the space was clean, and the process was simple yet impressive. I received a great promotion, and my aligners arrived two weeks later. I used the whitening system first with great results. Whereas Invisalign patients only see their doctor once a month or else, every two weeks I take scans from home and receive personalized comments/direction from my Orthodontist. On the app, you can see your progress as it merges your scan photos to show how your teeth are moving. The aligners are easy to wear, and I only experience mild discomfort the first 3 days wearing a new tray. I am so impressed with Candid and happy in my decision to use their product/service.
