One of the best things I’ve ever done…
I completed QA Level 3 First Response Emergency Care (RQF) (FREC 3) with British Rescue Group (BRG) in August 2021.
As a serving Police Firearms officer, I have already had an introduction to prehospital or first responder care, dealing mainly with trauma from road traffic collisions and weapon/ballistic injuries. I thought I had a good grasp of how to treat casualties/patients, until I completed FREC 3 with British Rescue Group.
Ryan and Lee are both experienced in terms of their tactical ability and exposure to injuries and medical situations in both prehospital and hospital settings. What’s more, is that they are both currently practicing in the medical field, one as a EMT and recently qualified paramedic, and the other as a Physician Associate, based in a busy city Emergency Department.
What sets BRG apart from other FREC providers is the credibility that Ryan and Lee bring, drawing on their experience and knowledge in both theory and practical clinical skills.
My goal is to leave the Police service in around 5 or 6 years to pursue a career in health care, but until then, the training and qualification I have received through BRG stands me in a more confident place when dealing with casualties at work.
The FREC course delivered by BRG is accredited by Qualsafe Awards and is a nationally recognised qualification.
I have booked FREC 4 with BRG, and I start this in November 2021 at their new venue in Chester and I am excited to reach another milestone in my medical career.
Thanks Ryan and Lee. You have both been an inspiration, a mentor and a driving force behind one of the biggest decisions in my life.
