A Complete NHS Mess

Middleton branch. No one ever answers the phone, it took 3 days chasing overdue, undelivered, important medication, now when finally delivered the sealed pack is short of 5 items with no prescription attached. Back to chasing and getting NO ANSWER AGAIN.

Wetherby and Diss Boots - reputation to be ashamed of

Boots in Wetherby and in Diss both suffer from a lack of staff. You can expect a long wait every time you go. The staff that are there show no hint of urgency. Today in Wetherby was another example. Although only two ahead of me in the queue I had to wait over 20 minutes to buy something off the shelf that was behind the staff and within arms reach. Staff varied from 0 to 2 on the three tills, and one of the 2 was happy passing the time of day for ages with her customer. Another was taking time off to prepare prescriptions. Come on Boots - employ more staff! Terrible.

They didn't give syringe newborn's paracetamol which should be in the box

Went to take paracetamol for my newborn to give after immunization. The boots pharmacy (St Enoch Glasgow) "forgot" to include the syringe in the box, without which I was not able to measure or give medicine to my little one in time. I went back to the boots pharmacy and asked them why it was not given, instead of apology or empathy they casually gave some other syringe.
Everyone knows Boots pharmacy is pathetic, but to do in case of a newborn... absolute shameful!!!

Why can't I contact your pharmacies by phone?

There are 2 nearby Boots stores who you can never reach the pharmacy by phone. I am talking about all day every day. When I asked them in the store about this they said they do not have enough staff to answer the calls. It's very annoying when you are trying to get info about a prescription and you are too ill to visit the store. Surely a company the size of Boots should be able to staff their stores correctly. The queue for the pharmacy is very long in store as well.

Boots pharmacy

Boots pharmacy, Thame. Absolutely shambolic. It doesn't matter what day or time you go, or even if there's only one person in front of you, the queuing time is always long. They've merged the queues for prescription collections with the queue for counter products so even if you only want to pay for a tube of haemmeroid cream you have to wait sometimes half an hour, and there's seldom if ever any staff on the counter anyway. Poorly staffed, poorly organised and poorly run. Avoid if you can, but hard to do as they're the only pharmacy in Thame now.

what a balls up ! i usually have my meds delivered by another co. But needed this one urgently so popped into Boots in wincanton.. called to the counter, confirmed name, address, dob.. rushed home to have first dose .. ONLY TO SEE IT WAS NOT MY PX...
dont these peop!e read ENGLISH??????
he even asked me.. is this a new med ?? yes !!
can we phone you in one week to see if everything is ok !! dont bother.. ill stick to having them delivered by a reputable firm.

Why is boots the most unfriendly

Why is boots the most unfriendly, unwelcoming store with many of them being untidy, poorly stocked and dirty??
And this isn't recent. This is my experience over the last 20 years.
It's such a shame. The staff would enjoy their jobs far better, I'm sure, if they were taught to be kind and welcoming and helpful and proactive.
And on the few occasions I've ever had to call boots about advantage card issues....my goodness!! The systems are archaic and painful.
I really hate to complain but it makes me sad that I still end up spending money here

Boots Bracknell- staff pleasant but

Boots Bracknell- staff pleasant but, despite being quiet, pharmacist did not come out when I asked to speak to her. I had to relay symptoms via an assistant. I had an unpleasant skin reaction that had spread to my eyelids but pharmacist diagnosed an allerhic reaction without looking at my face. She advised trying a harsh skin wash with benzyl.peroxide and, if no improvement in 14 days, to dee my GP for a blood test. Needless to say my initial rash has not gone and my skin reacted badly to the advised skin wash. Absolutely no care or interest from the pharmacist at all. I am now trying to get an appointment with the GP-nigh on impossible.

"WE DON'T STOCK IT"…

I WENT TO BOOTS BOURNEMOUTH TO BUY VARIOUS THINGS INCLUDING VITAMINS. I ASKED AN ASSISTANT FOR BIOTIN "WE DON'T STOCK IT" WAS THE HURRIED RESPONSE. I FOUND IT MYSELF. THE VITAMIN BOXES WERE ALL EMPTY. I WAITED FIVE MINUTES FOR THER CONTENTS. WHEN I PRODUCED MY BOOTS CARD, I WAS TOLD IT WAS INVALID.

Boots’ obstructive culture

While many of the staff I meet face to face at my local branch of Boots are polite, considerate and helpful, my experience more generally is dreadful. Their systems seem set up to frustrate their customers at every turn. I have been looking for some time for Elvanse on their notoriously unreliable stock checker. This Monday, 19th Feb 2024, I found some in Oban, Scotland through this same stock checker and discovered, when I phoned the branch, that they did in fact have what I was looking for. I asked whether it would be possible for them to send one bottle of Elvanse Adult 30mg to my local branch for me to collect. I was told this was practically impossible as the procedures they would have to follow take many weeks.

As I live in central London I was reluctant to make the now inevitable journey without confirmation from their pharmacist in Oban that my psychiatrist had filled out the script to their satisfaction. However, they were not prepared to let me have their email address which made it impossible to get an image of the script to them for their opinion easily. I even went to my local Boots to ask, if I gave them a file on a flash drive, could they send it to the Oban branch. No they couldn't. Yesterday morning (Tuesday 20th Feb 2024) I contacted a printing office in Oban and asked them if they could print off a single A4 document (to include an image of the script and a brief explanatory note) and deliver it by hand to the branch, which they agreed to do for £6. I sent a PDF of the document to the printers and sometime later phoned the Boots branch to check they had received it.

The person I spoke to this time came across as impatient. She hadn’t had a chance to see the document I’d sent (which was understandable), but soon found it. They immediately told me they couldn’t issue the medication on the basis of this image - they needed the original script. I didn’t take this well as I hadn’t asked for this and had made it clear in the brief note in the document that I was only looking for their pharmacist’s professional opinion on whether the script had been correctly filled out before setting out on the long journey to Oban. I would present the original script and my passport when I came to collect the medication.

The previous day when speaking to her colleague I was told by him that the medication could be held for 24 hours. I asked the impatient member of staff to confirm this to which she asked what it was I wanted held. Given that we had only talked about Elvanse Adult I had the distinct impression she was being obtuse - there was nothing else I could have been referring to. She must have known that Elvanse and Elvanse Adult 30mg are currently very scarce, independently of me having already told her earlier in our conversation and therefore obtaining the medication was very important for me - important enough for me to make a long journey to get it. I believe she was being willfully obstructive to frustrate and provoke me. I’m sorry to say I took the bait, asking her “what medication do you think I’m talking about”. This gave her the pretext she needed to put the phone down on me - another example of my efforts being frustrated by Boots, this time decisively.

I then called the branch manager at Boots in Oban to see what could be rescued from the situation, only to be told that all bottles of the medication they had had in stock the day before had been released. It had all been a dreadful waste of time. Had Boots enabled me to send them an email of the script for confirmation when I first asked there is every reason to believe I would have been successful in obtaining the medication I need. Boots’ obstructive culture prevented it.

My experience has been bad enough, but I heard a member of staff at another branch tell me they were doing their best. The only reason they would need to do this is because the senior management at Boots are not doing what’s necessary. My sympathies are with the majority of the shop staff who do achieve often remarkable results despite the clear shortcomings of the upper ranks of the organisation.

Embarrassingly bad

Embarrassingly bad. Shocking... always the same "it'll be here tomorrow" and they run people out of medicines and dare to complain. This is the reason why they are closing soon and are just not bothered.

Boots Byfleet, High rd, Surrey.

Boots Byfleet Surrey when a particular chemist is at that branch he always asks for my birthdate I asked why he said "the computer lists under birthdate" no other chemist askes that in all my years collecting prescriptions including that same chemist when a different person is in charge, I object to giving my address alone, let alone my address and birthdate in a public place, due to scum who may over hear and make use of that information, I would describe this pharmacist as middle eastern appearance, plus I went into that boots on Friday 5.23pm and asked for my prescription he asked what items was it I asked for? he couldn't be bothered to check his computer, his reply "they will be ready Saturday after 2.00pm" well I got a text Saturday "your prescription is in progress a further text will be sent when it is ready so today is Monday at 12.40pm and no text!! and one further point I once complained about that chemist to Boots directly and no body came back to me to say issue rectified!

Great help

Fantastic help by Mia Newbury In Boots Bluewater branch Dartford.She helped my wife with finding and sorting products out with a smile. She took time and didn't rush my wife at all.

Cancellation of shingles jab at no notice

My wife booked online an appointment for a private shingles jab at Guildford Boots, the nearest branch to us offering the service. A number of reminders were sent confirming the appointment including as recently as yesterday. She made a special train journey to get down there only to be told by the very pleasant pharmacist that their branch was unable to offer this service anymore. She had my wife's paperwork and the jab in stock but for some reason your central office was saying no. Apparently my wife could still get it at Kingston but that is harder to get to. Her payment is being refunded but it's appalling service from your system. What on earth was the problem? If they had to cancel it, they should have done so before she travelled and wasted a train fare.

I have tried repeatedly to place an online order with Boots, and every time the order is cancelled due to 'internal verification checks'. The customer service team cannot explain why it fails, and every time they say to wait a further 72 hours before trying to order again. I wait 72+ hours and the order is cancelled again! Again Customer service can offer no explanation, nor suggestion other than to wait a further 72 hours, when presumably they will do the same again! Boots used to have a good reputation, but now it seems dysfunctional and incompetent, and worse still indifferent to its customers!

Boots in Deer Park

Boots in Deer Park, Witney.
Staff are rude, disrespectful and smug.
Accuse you of buying things that there are limits on buying daily when that's not even possible and they do it in front of other customers to belittle you and embarrass you.

The blonde one needs sacking because she likes to go tittle tattling like a little child to the pharmacist on untrue things and acts so smug and mighty when she thinks she has one over you.

I wouldn't recommend them to wipe my mums nose let alone to use them as a chemist.

Great shop.

Done my usual shop for perfume, make up and baby products. The staff in the Livingston Almondvale centre shop are great, helped look for an item that I couldnt find on the shelf. I dont even want to think about how much I spend here lol Girls lovely that dealt with me and my purchases.
