Instructions for getting the house and…
Instructions for getting the house and accessing it were clear and accurate. The house was welcoming and well stocked. Everything in Bourton on the Water was within walking distance which made things very easy. Thoroughly recommend this as a base for exploring the Cotswolds.

This was a fantastic place to stay , lovely houses and great support and services whilst we stayed. Warm, comfortable rooms , and stunning bedrooms. Space to wander around by the local footpaths in the countryside.Totally recommended. 5*

Lovely cottage
Lovely cottage, great location
However previous clients have stated that one of the couches is very uncomfortable and this is True.So with six adults , it left seating a bit difficult not cosy.
Also the cottage is advertised as dog friendly, and you pay £40 extra per dog, then when you arrive there are specially made signs everywhere asking you to not let your family pet in 3 out of five rooms, and not to go on furniture.I found this quite insulting

We're sorry to hear that you found one of the sofas uncomfortable, the owner has taken this feedback on board and has updated the sofa with more supportive cushions. Regarding our dog policy, dogs are very welcome at the cottage. The owner kindly asks that they are kept downstairs and off the furniture to help maintain the property’s comfort and cleanliness for everyone to enjoy.
Exceeded all Expectations
Fairview Cottage and its location exceeded all expectations. Very much appreciated the welcome amenities in the kitchen. Our family loved our stay.

We've stayed with Bolthole retreats 3…
We've stayed with Bolthole retreats 3 times and unfortunately the last 2 times have been disappointing. We had issues with cleanliness in both properties, particularly the most recent. Towels that smelt musty and needed washing before we could use them, missing lighbulbs in the kitchen and bedroom and a collection of roughly 10 dead flies on the bedroom inside window ledge. Also very dusty and lots of cobwebs inside the house. The actual property was beautiful (Ashworth House in Leafield) but this house wasn't cleaned and maintained to a high standard and we felt disappointed

Beautiful property in a beautiful location
The Castle Gate House is very well maintained and the interior design is thought through. Everything was very nicey presented. There was tea, coffee, milk and a selection of jams which was welcomed. But the best was the exterior and the location - walking distance to the town and the castle. For those traveling with children: be aware that the second room is really separate. But our teenagers loved it!

I hired the farmhouse for my husband…
I hired the farmhouse for my husband surprised 60th birthday, for family & friends.
The house was spacious and beautifully furnished throughout.
We had all breakfast provisions supplied along with fresh pastries every morning and homemade cake was provided to.
I would highly recommend

Five stars all the way
Five stars all the way! Loved this location. The house had everything you would need. It does have some internal stairs but wasn't a problem for us. Walkable to the quaint town of Stow-On.The-Wold. The house is on a busy road but during the night the road isn't noisy. If you cross over the road you can walk to town on a public footpath through the cricket field directly to the village through the Church walkway and you're of the main road. Takes about 15 mins. The outdoors of this house is beautiful. We had cheese crackers and a bottle of wine from Daylesford on the back patio. Don't hesitate. Stay here! You'll love it.

Family Holiday
Family Holiday
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Maple House, The house was large, spacious, beautifully designed and, very well equipped, with excellent facilities. We especially enjoyed the two gardens, which had plenty of seating and the large hot tub was definitely a bonus. What an amazing home from home.
There was plenty of room, when we all wanted to be together or to have a quiet moment to ourselves.
The location of Maple House was excellent for eating out, with a pub and farm shop nearby and both being dog friendly. There were many places of interest in the local area, most within a 15 minutes drive.
I would definitely recommend Maple House, hosted by Bolthole Retreats. We will definitely be back again.
