The planning issue I faced was - or rather became - a long drawn out one. Largely my responsibility, because I was not familiar with the rules and made an error which resulted in having to reapply for permission after I had had the building built. I won’t go into the detail, but James, who had seen through the original application with no problem at all, responded immediately when my error led to having to apply for retrospective permission.

I suspect that getting retrospective permission is never easy, and the path of my application was certainly not. Despite support from the planning officials, the application had to go through two planning committee meetings and - finally getting approval - through a meeting of the full Council.

Throughout this, James was always calm and always explained to me exactly what was going on. He obviously has a strong , professional, understanding of the planning rules and process and a good - again, completely professional - relationship with the planning officials.

He represented me at meetings when necessary, and always communicated well. I have no hesitation in recommending him and those of his colleagues who supported him, at Bloomfields.

Failed to follow instruction very slow and very hard to contact . Tried to Charge £1500 architect fee after photo copying a drawing I had to confirm I had ownership of . Issued invoice for works after I wrote to say do no more. BAD PEOPLE

We as a family couldn’t have picked a harder project. Working with Tom over the last three years on our forever home, has been frustrating, overwhelming and a definite learning curve on all the planning regulations, I have wanted to give up so many times , but with Tom,s patience and guidance on our journey, he has delivered our dream. I can recommed this company as a hard working team that are at the end of the phone.
We worked with Russell designing the house to our needs as a family home and a working farm once talking with Russell he came up with the drawings and had listen to what we had to say and what we needed,

With absolutely no experience we decided on trying to obtain an outline planning permission on a piece of inherited land. A massive thank you to Sam, Nicola and the team who made it a completely painless and worry free experience and good value. Communication was excellent, they were very patient with my ignorance and explained everything thoroughly. Highly recommended.

Beth provided excellent service in helping resolve a planning dispute with my neighbours. The Council planning team were not very helpful but Beth was very clear on the planning law in this case. It seemed that she actually knew the law better than the Council! We had to go through many different planning applications and it cost a lot but she achieved the right outcome in the end for which I was very grateful
