Terrible service -hospital refused test results!
Absolutely terrible service. Avoid like the plague.
I booked a boodtest for a private funded surgical procedure. The appointment was fine, i signed the poorly written consent form where i foolishly chose to ignore the typos and bag grammar.
Problems:
1. The results are in Polish. I was never advised of this (though the consent form states Blood-Lab are not responsible for any language translation services). Given i had the test in the UK, i thought this would apply to Polish patients. But no, the results are in Polish so fairly useless in an English hospital unless you want to fork out for the translation and don't mind waiting for these potentially private test results to be seen by some stranger.
2. They got my first name and surname wrong way around - they do advise on the (terribly terribly written) consent form that they are not responsible for the test results.... i interpreted this to mean the findings as the consent form is ambiguous at best. However it apparently it covers in the name i provided (correctly, with photo ID) too... i am left unsure what Blood-Lab are responsible for.... the impact of the typo was the hospital I was being operated on could not use the test results provided because they could not prove the test was for me (the name did not match) and therefore critically risked very major spinal surgery.
3. When i complained, they told me they stated the results were my "responsibility to check" when sending. This is actually a total lie, there was never any written communication to this affect and despite repeated demands for this "written evidence" they have not provided it to date.
4. They have no clear complaints procedure. I asked them via email and they've never provided it. We've played email ping-pong where they've used escalating wording with me, accusing me of not complaining in a timely manner (i mean,i did need this test for spinal surgery which i thought was a mitigating circumstance to wait a month or so [... my spine is just screwed together right now...] before complaining but apparently thats not reasonable?).
To put it bluntly, ive wasted more of Blood-Labs time in my (still ongoing) complaint than they would've lost in just giving me the refund for their terrible service. Alas, this looks to continue to the next stage of their "make it up as we go" complaints procedure.
