Extremely disappointing
I instructed Blake Morgan through my legal expenses insurer to recover costs relating to damage caused by a former tenant at my rental property. Unfortunately, my experience with the firm was extremely poor and resulted in a prolonged and unnecessarily stressful process.
Over the course of the case there were repeated delays, lack of responses to emails and calls, and long periods where no progress appeared to be made. On several occasions I had to involve my legal insurer directly just to prompt Blake Morgan to respond or move the case forward. Communication between the firm and the insurer also appeared to be problematic and frequently required my intervention.
Basic administrative issues were also common. I was repeatedly addressed by the wrong name and even referred to as the tenant rather than the landlord. A USB device containing evidence that had been sent to the firm was held within their internal IT department for weeks before reaching the case handler, and even then it took additional weeks before the material was reviewed.
There were also significant procedural delays during the case itself. For example, obtaining financial information from the guarantor’s mortgage provider took several months due to slow follow-up and internal absences. A court application was also dismissed at one stage because the guarantor had not been contacted directly for information beforehand, resulting in additional costs being awarded against the claim.
Throughout the process payments recovered from the tenant were also passed on inconsistently rather than in the regular monthly pattern that had been described.
The overall effect was that a matter which should have progressed far more efficiently became drawn out for many months. During this time the property remained empty while I continued to incur running costs such as council tax and utilities.
I ultimately raised a formal complaint, and the firm offered £750 compensation, which was later deemed reasonable by the Legal Ombudsman in relation to service issues. However, the experience itself was extremely frustrating and required a significant amount of time and effort on my part simply to obtain updates and keep the case moving.
Based on my experience I would strongly recommend that anyone considering using this firm carefully reviews client feedback and ensures clear expectations around communication and case management are established from the outset.
Incompetent
Incompetent, soulless parasites who can't answer communications even after 8 months have passed and ignore further repeated requests for a response. I wouldn't go anywhere near these cowboys if you are in any way interested in a professional, competent service. They are utterly useless.
Blake Morgan acted for the defendant
Blake Morgan acted for the defendant, I was the claimant. It dragged on for nearly 3 years, at the end of which I was paid almost twice what it could have been settled for, plus the defendant likely paid thousands of pounds in legal fees, all avoidable. For context, it could have been settled for under £600. Blake Morgan did well out of this, as did I. Their client, not so much.
Absolutely appalling solicitors
Absolutely appalling solicitors. They were ill prepared and inefficient so we moved to another solicitor to handle our case and they then subsequently became extremely difficult when trying to access information they held for us. DO NOT USE AT ALL. The Male lawyers at that practice are arrogant, inefficient and ill-prepared.

Absolutely shocking communication. Impossible to get an update from them, despite numerous requests from myself, strike or sellers solicitors! Stay away!!!

Absolutely horrendous experience and by no means do you ever get the impression that they are working in your best interest, if anything totally against you to just get the quickest, easiest outcome for them to close the case.
Staffed full of interns with only a couple of months experience, don't expect any kind of duty of care towards you.

Please avoid this firm at all costs. Incompetent advice and arrogant customer service. We lost thousands of £ because we received their wrong advice (immigration team - Lisa Parsons), absolutely outrageous! They couldn't even spell my name many times! Avoid!!!

engagement with the Residential Landlord and Tenant team is impossible. We have cancelled our agreement with them. They, as individuals and as a team, do not respond to emails, phone messages, both on DDI and individual mobile. In handling our case it took them 4 weeks to review or case file, and only after we had to complain via insurers. They only get rated 1 star as there is nothing lower
Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful. They were appointed by my insurance company to assist in getting possession of my property back. I found them painfully slow and unresponsive and when an application was made under Sections 8 and 21 they made an error which could have meant the case would have been dismissed by a judge at court. I have been rescued by paying for the services of legalforlandlords and I highly recommend them

Blake Morgan a brand with big overheads, big targets for all employees and is out of touch with its client base. Mr Thomas Djan-Krofa supplied three titles on documentation, knew a limited budget was in place but most importantly failed to mention all the options including Money Claim Online. When questioned, "we didn't ask". As employed professionals, it was Blake Morgan and Mr Thomas Djan-Krofa who should have supplied all the options. Disappointing, how Blake Morgan knowingly took limited funds, let Mr Thomas Djan-Krofa lie about his position and failed to support the client when they were told of his actions. Mr Thomas Djan-Krofa lied, acted recklessly and didn't act in the client's best interest. Once the funds were exhausted never heard from Mr Thomas Djan-Krofa or Blake Morgan again, so they lost the case.

This company is the worst I have ever known of a company. They are VULTURES and that's putting it nicely. They add charges to fund themselves, they hold onto funds that have been paid too them (to clear debits) for months on end. And don't advise the creditor or the courts that they have received payment, they just blank it. Then they send you letters sticking their noses into your business asking for information that has sod all to do with them, they are nosey vermin that scurry aroud causing you more headaches even though you have paid them in full plus their exubarant added costs 2months previous. This company needs shutting down they are the worst the industry has. I wish the site could give a negative reading as I would put it straight away. This company showed be exposed on Rogue Traders

Piece of poo company. Toom my vehicle off me on 18/06/2020 yet it is still registered to me and I have received a fine. Company doing nothing to help apart from saying just appeal it. They say the vehicle is not registered to me yet after contacting DVLA they say itx still registered to me. Piece of crap company
They are just in for the big monies and care less about their clients, please stay away from them!
Overall I had expected my case to have been handled much better but the fact that the legal team are more for making monies from their clients by elongating the hearings and also the fact that the team are more for the establishment rather than for their clients. This is further evidence by the conclusion of the writer of the response to my complaints that section of the Act extends to me not to be able to earn a living in agreement with my fundamental human rights. Equating such rights as a violation of the section xx is doubly ridiculous.
My instructions were ignored, I was not believed and they were insensitive to my experiences as a BAME Practitioner. I had to fire them and hired a different firm which competently cleaned up their mess of several years they used me as cash cow.
It is therefore a gross malpractice on the part of Blakemorgan Solicitors.

This company is best compared to a leech.
They have been pursuing a debt that should never have been.
A car lease that was returned in perfect condition but was found to have unnoticed issues at the time, laughable.
I reluctantly agree a repayment plan, they then tried to extended the payment plan so I was paying more back as well as continuing to ask me personal details about my financial situation to a point in which I was being asked to provide details on how much I spend on a weekly shop.
Disgusting company and I would take great pleasure in seeing you going out of business... Scum bags with briefcases.
