Bought a pair of Papillio wedges (made by Birkenstock) as needed a stylish but comfy sandal for a euro holiday. Cork wedge heel disintegrated after max ?10 wears (no water exposure). So sad. Saw a review saying the same before I purchased but hoped for the best. What an idiot. Really expensive mistake.

APALLING, most incompetent, customer service ever!
My order could not be delivered because Birkenstock recouped an incomplete address, then I was assured the parcel service would contact me, and after much insisting, a week after I was finally advised to get in touch with the parcel service myself !!

We vertrekken morgen op verlof en moeten nu trachten een oplossing te vinden in een land waar hopelijk ergens sandalen te vinden zijn. Bedankt Birkenstock voor de stresvolle start van het verlof.
Klantendienst vertikt een oplossing voor te stellen.

If I could give a zero I would. Their customer service is very poor. My husband had a pair of the classic sandals for years. He wore them to death. They were leather and worth every penny. Pity I cannot say the same about the new pair I bought for my husband. They changed the inside, creating a higher instep. Which I find most men don't have and made them plastic. Under the guise of been vegan. We took them away on holiday and after less than a hour his feet started to hurt. I contacted customer service and basically got the brush off. Thanking us for our feedback. I am disabled and on benefits, but saved up to get them for him. He works hard as well as been my carer. But the sandals are an expensive item to waste money on. Obviously they didn't care. So would not recommend and will never buy from them again.

I strongly advise against buying from their website.
The guaranteed delivery times are not respected, and they provide no communication in case of delays. Every time I tried to contact customer service, the phone wait time was at least 20 minutes.
Six days after placing my order 2114480459, the package still hadn’t even been handed over to the Italian courier for delivery. I called to explain that I would be leaving for vacation and wouldn’t be available to receive it the following week, so I requested to cancel the order due to the missed delivery deadline. Their response? Cancellation is not possible.
Now I’ll be forced to track down the package who knows where, once it’s sent back to a depot after failed delivery attempts, and I’ll waste even more time returning it.
Completely unreliable service and total lack of professionalism. Avoid at all costs!

Ordered Men's Nubuck Leather Whale Gray sandals on 19Dec. I knew the sandals would not arrive by Christmas. I checked on 24Dec and my order showed 'processing', not purchased. I chatted with an agent and they said it will show as purchased until the sandals are shipped. I reached out on 27Dec and asked why the sandals still showed 'processing' and was told it is taking Birkenstock awhile to get orders processed due to the holidays. Then on 30Dec I received an email stating the sandals have shipped. I checked the delivery status right away when I got that email, and it showed 'Waiting for UPS pick up'. Which seemed weird to me but thought - ok - I am sure the status will be updated by end of day 31Dec. So today, 02Jan I checked the delivery status, expecting it to show in transit and to find out the delivery date, but the status was still saying 'Waiting for UPS pick up'. That is when I went to the Birkenstock website to chat w/an agent -- and was not given chat as an option - only email or call. I called, sat on the phone for 25 mins until Eric answered. Eric looked at the order, said he would have to call the warehouse to make sure the status is correct, or if there is just a delay in getting updates input into the system. Eric said I should hear from him by end of today via email. For a company with the recognition that Birkenstock has, and the price you pay for their products, you think their systems would be better connected. I have a feeling it will be a bit until we actually receive the sandals.

Virkelig ærgerlig situation
Virkelig ærgerlig situation.
Købte et par Birkenstock sko i gave, som desværre var alt for store (slet ikke størrelses tilsvarende). Jeg kontaktede derfor deres kundeservice afdeling med henblik på at ombytte til anden størrelse. Returneringsdatoen var overskredet, hvorfor at de ikke ville være mig imødekommende. Jeg forsøgte ellers at understrege, at jeg ikke ønskede en refusion, men blot de samme sko i en eller to størrelser mindre. Dette var overhovedet ikke en mulighed, hvilket jeg synes er rigtig dårligt og ærgerligt. Modtageren af gaven kan slet ikke passe skoene, da de er meget for store. De kommer derfor ikke i brug og er derfor total 'spild'. Set ud fra et bæredygtigheds princip, er dette i mine øjne virkelig ærgerligt og jeg jeg er meget uforstående over for deres kundeservice. Det ville være nemt for dem, at bytte til en anden størrelse, men dette ønsker de ikke at hjælpe med. Rigtig ærgerligt.

Men jeg har efter blot 2 dage modtaget nogle meget flotte støvler.

Birkenstock have terrible customer service. They offer a first time discount. Before you get a chance to order and then when you try to get it there is a problem. The goods cost £185.95 two pairs of sandals for a birthday present plus £5.95 so no free postage no first time discount. I rang customer service to say I didn't get the £10 voucher so she sent it by email saying I could send one item back and re-order use it online but I would have had to pay another £5.95 postage so asked if I could buy the sandals at their London store and use the code reducing the price. She said yes. But when I got to the London store sold only the version of the sandal in the soft bed which was another £10 more. Where do these companies get off with their constant GREED! A wasted journey. If they were for me then I would send both of them back. Neither head office nor the store explained to me the draw backs. Neither would honour the £10 off even with the amount I was spending. This is our 4th purchase over the years, of their sandals. They don't care about their loyal customer.

Absolutely terrible, I ordered two weeks ago and I have no idea where my shoes are. I called customer service and they hanged up on me, I started a chat with a bot and it actually ghosted me! £130 and I have no clue where my shoes are.

I wish I came here first to see these reviews and got these birthday gifts elsewhere. (or even better, avoid them all together). I'm tired of supporting companies with inane processes mostly riding on their brand name long after it means anything anymore.
Birkenstock Madrid Big Buckle Sandals
I purchased a pair of Ladies Birkenstock Big Buckle sandals from the official store in Carnaby Street, London. The first time wearing them I had to take them off after walking for approx 30 mins as the buckle was digging into my toes. I left them about 6 weeks before trying them again. I walked in them for 45 mins to 1 hour max and was a absolutely crippled with blisters on both little toes and down both outsides on the soles of my feet. Four days later I still cant wear shoes.
I contacted Birkenstock and they are not in the least bit interested. Their response was we cannot take responsibility for any items not purchased through the official website, even though I purchased them from an official Birkenstock store.
I would not recommend these sandals - they look good but they are brutal on your feet. I now know why Vinted is full of them where the seller states "worn a couple of times". That's where mine are going too!!

Honestly awful customer service. They sent the wrong item, wouldn't give any help getting someone to pick it up, wouldn't send a replacement, and did nothing to rectify the situation. Wouldn't order from them again online.
