Bimmer/EuroDirect
Bimmer/EuroDirect is a company with great products and customer service. I've been using their CarPlay product for over a year now with no issues. Both Ian and Xiang have responded quickly and resolved anything I reached out for.

Everything works pretty well. It's aftermarket stuff so you have to be realistic with what you're getting. For a 400$ headunit, it does a lot. If you're expecting it to be 150 percent perfect... Well then you're a goofball. Take that 400$ and put it on a down payment for a brand new car of some type. Considering how my car looked ancient and now has carplay, YouTube, etc. on it now, I would say it's well worth it.
Customer service was pretty good for me but I was respectful so I got the same back.
If you're a dbag, they're going to let you know about it as a few of these nutjobs found out. Kind of to be expected when you skip the upsellers and go straight to the factory. Lousy entitled people are pretty much the reason we have to buy everything from a dealer... So I'd rather not burn that bridge.
Software is pretty solid. I will say it does take some tweaking but it's nothing major and you again have to be realistic with the fact it's aftermarket. It looks OEM but if you're wanting that 1000% perfect finish and function you're again delusional.
All in all, would I buy it again? Yea. Product is solid, customer service is solid if you're nice to them and it does what I need.

Solid device for sure. Takes awhile to get here because they're overseas, but that's to be expected and pretty obvious. They do send you a pretty lengthy email giving ya a heads up on that however and some other important stuff so that's respectable.
Needed to use the tech support (it's on Whatsapp) and they got back to me within a few hours which is quicker than you can expect unless you're just taking the car to a shop which is totally between you and your wallet.
I think this will be my last BMW (I like my M2 and don't need another car anytime soon) but if I were to get another one, I'd grab another kit from them for sure.

BMW F20 Top Spec Screen
The F20 Top Spec screen is amazing! Far superior to the cheap aftermarket head units I have seen installed in friends’ cars. Works seamlessly with the iDrive knob and touchscreen is fluid with no lag.
As an amateur, I was worried about installation given that they warn you that the Mid/Top Spec are not simple devices and professional install is recommended. That being said, I emailed BD for the PDF installation instructions and completed it myself within 90 minutes with no problems! Be patient and make sure you have seated connections properly, and haven’t trapped any wires.
My only complaint would be that communication via email was slow. However, I think this is tolerable given that they’re a manufacturing plant on the other side of the world to me.
I can’t comment on WhatsApp responses as I haven’t yet needed tech support from them. Likewise for anything regarding warranty.
Overall I’d highly recommend the product I bought if you can afford to wait a little while.

Warranty paid for itself.
I have purchased two units here. One for 328d F30 (screen) and one for BMW i8 (mmi). Recently after two years, the screen was sun damaged in Arizona heat, the warranty claim was quick and it was replaced. They did not argue with me and after roughly a week and a half I have received a replacement screen.
I almost forgot that I even had a warranty on this thing until I emailed them to ask if I could buy another one. They could have just sold me another but instead decided to warranty it and remind me I had a year left.
This experience alone has paid for itself. It is almost unheard of for a foreign company to actually honour their word.
They are a factory so you do have to communicate effectively and cordially with them, but the positives are the product is clearly superior and the product support ends up being better long term.
Between the MMI and screen kit, I would say that I enjoy the screen kit more. Not due to any faults, it’s just that I have the MID spec screen which allows much more features especially if you are someone like me who is pretty in depth. Unfortunately they do not create a screen for the i8 yet, but I would surely purchase this in the future.

Do not trust this company. They come across as competent in the beginning with their communication, but if something goes wrong with the device, communication either stops entirely or they fail to answer any reasonable questions in a timely manner. They become extremely rude and defensive and attempt to shift blame to the customer. Please read ALL of the reviews and their responses before considering spending any money with this company. My personal experience is that these guys are toxic and untrustworthy. They also lie and fabricate false information with their responses here on trustpilot

I bought an MMI+ box for my BMW. Great bit of kit, fairly seamless and looks great. But why do you ask us to email you just for software updates and the "Online Software Update" requires a pin which you haven't provided in the manuals???? very odd.... This is the only thing letting it down

Aftermarket products always make me nervous so it’s great knowing that the support and warranty is there when things aren’t 100%

Easy to deal with and prompt communication
Great company to deal with, provided you're not a snowflake who is easily offended by blunt answers for asking questions already addressed on their website.
I purchased a 2017+ BMW MMI box and received it (Alberta Canada) within 10 business days. Diagrams and instructions provided are easy to follow but you may want to check out several YouTube DIY videos which vary in quality and detail. Many YouTube content providers edit out the trickiest part of the installation process; cable management and the exact location for the MMI box. This can be frustrating if you have a larger head unit with no space above, below or behind to place the MMI box!
When I first received the MMI box, I contacted tech support via WhatsApp during regular business hours and within minutes, I received a detailed reply along with installation instructions.
Although I've only been using the MMI box for a couple of days, it appears to be of excellent quality and works almost seamlessly with the BMW original EVO I-drive 6 head unit.
In summary, I would not hesitate to buy from Bimmerdirect/Eurodirect. They are a solid company and offer a great product with excellent service!

Warranty
I bought my unit a few years ago (probably around early 2023). It was working perfect but I made the mistake of leaving it parked outside in the sun for an entire year during deployment. When I came back it was destroyed as you can imagine. I sent the old one back in and after about 11 days the new one came in. Really can not complain considering I thought I’d have to buy a new one.

UPDATE. IF YOUR SCREEN STOPS WORKING, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN.
Was helpful at first-but after waiting almost a month for a replacement screen after the first eurodirect unit died after not even a year...they decided to stop responding. I'm left in the dark about my replacement under warranty, so now I am downgrading my 5-star review to a 1-star. Very poor customer service.
The most confusing part was when I was told that I would receive tracking within 96 hours. 9 long and silent days later...........nothing.
No tracking, no shipping information, not even a email back if I do not initiate it.

The previous buyer of this head unit that I ended buying this from also had some complaints about their customer service. I ended up buying a head unit from a different manufacturer that had tracking and shipping info sent to me in under a DAY, and can finally drive my car normally again. Very confusing as to why they started to help me and decided to stop, especially as I kept it professional and cordial in the emails sent.
Great product but the people who manage customer support absolutely need to be more responsive and helpful to those who purchase them.

Everything connected as manual says. Sometimes just doesn't connect with carplay. If you leave your car running and leave the bluetooth area, it won't reconnect automatically when coming back. CANbus errors (light out etc) cant be seen unless you're on factory screen.
Music quality through bluetooth is bad compared to bmw original bluetooth (when switching to use cars bt channel, more problems occur..)
With android the MMI doesn't switch screen to darkmode automatically, only when switching headlights off and back on again.
Customer support is rude and suggests to buy a newer car. Don't understand why would you even produce something that doesn't work and then suggest buying yourself a newer car.
