BG Electrical Omdömen 

Brought into the smart range snd sockets started falling within weeks so now had to replace the entire setup with a decent brand. There support is useless

Got both a double socket and a adapter socket. Both won't connect to my router, done everything the app says to do bit still won't connect. Never buying BG products again. A total waste of money.

Fully kitted out a house in bg nexus sockets and switches, some have started to fail after 2 years and bg dont want to know even though theres a 10 year warranty, whats worse i cant buy new to replace them as the colour has discontinued. Further to this i bought switches 4 months ago for an extension, ive gone to buy sockets to match and the sockets have been discontinued. Bg keep repeating i should go back to the retailer even though ive told bg the retailer wont take them back and doesnt solve the problem of not matching the rest of the house. Then they rudely decided to close the case without any resolution. Useless customer service, useless company. Will never buy anything from them again.

Support is terrible.
I had a charger that failed and they wanted a list of items including pictures, videos, bank details, etc. before they'd consider the support ticket

Very, very poor. 1. Service- emailed 3 times for help and no response at all. 2. Product, WiFi extender makes no difference. Don't waste your money as this company is very very poor

Absolutely the worst smart socket out there. So very difficult to set up. Don’t waste your time. You will be messing about for days. In the day and age of plug and play. What’s going on here then Stolen my money and they will take yours. DONT BUY

we are electrical contractors in trade for over 25 years.i go to peoples houses since 5 years to replace faulty BG sockets and dimmers,which has been installed maximum 2 years.
BG dimmers and sockets give fault within maximum of two years.
Thank you BG,You creating constant income for electricians with not long lasting product.(still feeling sorry for the customers though)

Bought 25 varied sockets for a recent renovation and 7 of those were faulty right out of the box! Customer service is really bad, just not interested. Cut myself twice on sharp very socket edges also, not good at all.

Had a smart plug given me as a present. It worked fine for approx 6 weeks then stopped working and displayed "No internet connection". After investigation I went through the rigmarol of disabling the 5g setting in the router to get the plug working however when I reset the 5g connection in the router the plug displayed "No internet connection" and stopped working again. I messaged technical help but have had no response.
Users shouldnt have to change router setting to get the device to work, other smart plugs such as Tapo work without any issues. I wouldnt recommend any one to buy this product.

Fitted number of smart sockets and lamps. All great they worked. Sometimes a bit difficult to setup but try again and it worked. Best with a good WiFi signal.

Trust me If i could i would give them no star to this company and tell people to save your time and money on their so called smart socket and trust me they ain't very smart they won't connect to WiFi or anything even after I followed all their troubleshooting advice which was pointless.
Bg if you are reading this comment pls feel free to contact me. i would be pleased to talk to you, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
So people, you been warned my advice is to shop somewhere else

Dimmer Switch not working
Rather annoying to fit a dimmer then find out it actually doesn't work, took back to B&Q and was swapped no problem but just annoying to get it fitted then have to take it back.

Having tried everything BG support have advised such as switching of 5ghz placing socket and phone next to router, trying both smart and app set up and finally resetting smart socket as advised I have given up and am hoping I can get a refund. Will go back to a manually switched socket which works everytime.

Bought Smart Power Adaptor sold by Lidl. When tried to get help from technical support at BG electrical go disconnected twice. Never buying another product from them

Well don't work and if you try arrange a ticket when they don't do as they are supposed to do they close ticket and say not our problem tell you to just replace them even though only 2 months old save your money go to a company that will give you after sales service

Bought multiple brushed steel light switches which were all poor quality. The idea was to upgrade all the rubbish plastic ones and for the price you'd expect better. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered 2x dimmer switches as recommended by the manufacturer of the led light fittings we purchased. Even worse than the normal switches. Had nothing but issues.

Great Product. Not sure what the 1 star people are doing with them. I fitted one on Saturday as a trial for a TV with power behind it (Never got switched off!). And was so impressed I ordered another 6 from Screwfix. I have just fitted all 6 and set them up on the app within an hour. They are working a treat with timers to set house lamps and tree lights etc. The whole house is now automated from my phone. Turning the 5 ghz off on the modem while connecting is the only faf, but it's a 2 min job and you can search online how to do it if unsure.

I've had a BG outdoor smart socket for a few months and thought I would program it to turn on/off my Xmas lights - but every time I try to setup the timers I get a message "unknown error" so I've given up and will replace the BG "smart" socket with a normal dumb socket and a smart switch that is Homekit compliant.

Just bought their "smart adaptor plug"and can't connect to wifi without changing to a 2.4 WiFi connection which involves logging into your router control panel and changing settings,sorry that's above my pay grade I'm afraid (not being a teccy)
So utterly useless for me so I'll just turn the switch off myself and throw it in the bin.

I have tried and tried to get this to connect, changed router to 2.4ghz change phone to the same. Hours of my life I will never get back.
Do yourself a huge favour, don’t bother.
