Had an 'unchained' pass from when went 05-05-2025, was unable to go before 04-05-2026 so asked if they could extend it by 1 day to allow for a re-visit on 05-05-2026, answer was no. Shame it's not be... Se mer

Brilliant day out and a step into the Victorian to 1950's eras. The fish and chips are fried in beef dripping and taste fabulous. A trip down the mine is very entertaining. The pub has real beer and... Se mer

Very disappointing
Very disappointing. Limited parking. Long queue in the hot sun even when purchased tickets on line to avoid that. Queues at all shops so unable to even get a bottle of water. Hot day and felt ill and faint so left. When the weather is like this you really need to provide some access to water at least. Won’t go again. Blitz Hill at Ironbridge is better
Looked great on arrival
Looked great on arrival. We had had to qué to get in even though we had pre paid tickets . Huge que for the mines so we decided to go back later , we didn't get to because it was then closed for the rest of the day .
Go to the fairground £10 spent on 4 rides .
Then the sweet shop ,then fish and chips which were terrible ,tiny amount for £10 .
Staff didn't seem at all interested or enjoying what they were doing . We then went on the boat which was part of Dudley canal and caverns so cost an extra £20 this was not part of the museum yet the best part of the day ,they also informed us there car park was free.
When we left we were stung for another 3.50 for parking ,so in fact this day out end up costing around £120 with a drink in the pub as well so be prepared as everything including the fair is extra . I can say without these extra the day would of been absolutely terrible because they filled a day

Had a really good day 2 adults and 2 children... 12 and 14 yrs....just a little dissapointed as no trams or buses running and no street characters.. Some of the shops were shut. It did rain but not all day! On the whole fab day x
Good day out disappointed parking was extra
Visited this week and was upset to see parking was charged on top of admission, fish and chips were £9.50,boat rides were extra and parts were closed off.The attraction volunteers were all friendly and gave good banter,it was disappointing to see a dead fly in the bakery selling buns laid by a plate of Eccles cakes for sale, dust on lots of the furniture in displays, gum on the school room forms and discarded rubbish in houses left by visitors. There are plenty of toilets, friendly staff, lovely fish and chips once we got over the price,a day full of attractions to peruse at leisure. We went on a day there were several school trips there and managed to avoid them all.A long way for us to travel but we’ll worth it in the end. This weekend a new street opens and we were lucky enough to be invited to visit the building society to hear the talk by the manager before closing.
Great staff
It was my sons birthday and we had one member of staff called Carla that went above and behind when my son was sick. Really helpful will be back again
Inadequate customer service
As a local school (from a deprived area) visiting this site we paid for 60 children and 9 adults. One child was sick before going on the coach. Having paid for this child we asked that she could have an E-voucher to use and go with her parents - who would pay for themselves. I was told no!! When our invoice came we had been over charged for another 4 children that we didn’t take!! I spoke to Zoe in the ticket and sales who was rude and abrupt. This person needs to learn how to speak to customers and show some level of customer service. We have supported this local business for many years - very disappointed by the service. However, the guides were very knowledgable and friendly with the children. Customer service needs to improve.

Visited with my family who ranged from ages 7 through to 76 ! The site is really impressive and very well constructed. There was building work underway whist we were there , which looks very exciting. I loved the concept of staff being in Character dress. I think that there are many more things which could be done to improve the interactive experience. When I visited The Children’s Country House Museum at Sudbury Hall they had some excellent interactive experiences. They had an escape room ( which was included in the admission price) also you could make clay models / cut clay with biscuit cutters at the Farmhouse table in the scullery kitchen. There was a lady dressed as a cook. Also a room setting with a fireplace and tunnels to emulate how the children used to crawl up to sweep the chimney. Various character dress up points so photographs could be taken. The school room there had the white smocks for the girls to wear and the waistcoats for the boys. Along with slates and chalk for the lesson. This really made the experience feel more authentic. I think if the shops were all run as shops they would be great. Things like having a working blacksmith. Or the tour guide for the mine dressed as a miner as though taking you as a miner down underground. Maybe an old fashioned fairground for the children to enjoy.
My girls loved playing the old fashioned games. It would be great if this was done at the school house too. You could also use a Charabanc to transport visitors to an area made like the seaside. It would be a great attraction throughout the summer. A bakery that sold real home made goods. Whilst the houses are all amazing , there does need to be more of a purpose to them. A great attraction would be a hospital exhibit , reflecting how far we have come along with medical advances.

Such a bad experience at the Christmas event
Such a bad experience at the Christmas event. The event was 18.30-22.00 hours and we queued for two hours, just for food! Unbelievable. 2 of our group of 5 didn't eat meat. We queued for half an hour only to be told the advertised vegan pasties were not available. No-one had the intelligence to cross them off the menu shown at the start of the queue. The same staff did offer meat alternatives. Yes that bad. We then queued for 1.5 hours for chips... no other non-meat hot food as available. As a result, there was not much time to actually do anything at the event we had paid for. How hard is it to get in external caterers that would pay to be there and avoid the queues? Too hard for them, certainly. Food is always a problem there that they don't address. This time this was off the chart. They don't deserve any stars.
Halloween Robbery!!
This year was a complete anti climax compared to previous years; from the entertainment, lack of decorations, uninspiring atmosphere, no street actors, closed mines & a lackluster animal display!!
I was equally sad to see that some of the staff looked bored & uninterested to be working. One of the girls working in the pub was so rude to several customers who'd asked about the menu options, slamming drinks on the bar!
We got so little for our money. I feel completely robbed of £70.
Last year we left this event buzzing & excited to come back. This year we were all bored after an hour as were all the children.
Its safe to say, we will not be back!
Great place
Halloween was fun, lovely place. Kids loved it as usual. We will be back soon
£98 for 4 adults and a child!!! Waste of Money.
£98 for 4 adults and a child. Absolute waste of money. We arrived at 6.30 p.m. when it opened to find the queue going round the block and we had to park in the mud as there was nowhere left to park! There were so many people we couldn't get to see anything due to the size of the queues. Good job we didn't want any chips we would have had to queue for hours!! Seems to me they are trying to get their money back from the Pandemic and letting far too many people book tickets. Hardly any staff dressed up, wouldn't let us in the mine, said it was closed. Waste of money, really disappointing for our 8 year old granddaughter who wanted to go home after an hour. Children don't want to queue for hours to see someone dressed as a witch for a lollipop. Never ever again. A shambles.
Halloween nights absolutely awful!!
Halloween nights absolutely awful!!! Way too overpriced to just be standing in Q’s all night. Waited to see the animals for over a hour and gave up as kids were crying and bored and wanted to leave!! Managed to get in 2 trick or treat stations. Way to overbooked!! Way more people than there is the day time, it’s not even decorated, no music, hardly anywhere to stand without being bashed into by some drunks as pubs are really the only thing there!!! Chips were disgusting, cold and raw! Overall the worst experience I’ve had. Paid £110 to get 12 crappy Poundland chocolates and stand around getting bashed into 👍🏻 Avoid this event at all costs!!
I would have given no stars if I could
I would have given no stars if I could. My advice to people is don't go to the halloween event, it's terrible, a complete waste of money. We payed full price to the event, and it was awful. The mines weren't open for anyone to go down, and the trick or treating was poor, they used cheap sweets from the pound shop. Previously back in 2012 it was brilliant! Alot more to do, the mines were open, there was a brilliant story teller, a musical skeleton band were playing, ghost and goals were walking around on stilts scaring people, there was a massive fair ground, and also vans selling hot food and drinks, which there wasn't this time! It's gone down hill, your getting a lot less and paying alot more. Aviod this event its a rip off. I dont know what it's like at other times of the year, but the halloween event dire now.

Visited the 1940's weekend today for the 3rd year running. Although the four of us enjoyed it it lacked certain things this year. The first year we visited it had a fair with food stalls, hot dogs and lovely hot donuts. Yes there are 2 fish & chip shops & one vendor selling faggots, mash & peas plus the cake & sweet shop but I'm sure people would flock to hot dog & donut stalls. Also would ice cream vans be appropriate for the weekend because I'm sure they'd do a roaring trade. The fish & chips were lovely. Didn't seem to be many military vehicles either this year. The D-Day Darlings were wonderful as always and the Lancaster Bomber flying over. I've reviewed the BCLM before and gave 5 stars but have deducted a star this year.
Good potential but some areas shut early before closing time
This has the potential to be incredible but unfortunately certain things bring it down. Started off well, with a nice wander and informative little nooks and crannies with ‘characters’ ready to give information. We managed to get onto the last boat trip of the day which disappointingly you have to pay ANOTHER £10 each for?! We then got back with an extra 15 minutes to spare within the main museum area and found the pub already closed, staff/characters standing around chatting with their phones and modern bags which broke the illusion of the experience, and clearly waiting for us to leave. We also couldn’t get into certain areas as they were for school children only?! Got back to the gift shop and that was shut too! Gift shop surely should stay open a little later for those who want to make the most of wandering until the museum is shut, I thought that was normal practice. Renovations will hopefully make this place incredible but a little boost from management is needed.
TERRIBLE!!!!
After hearing nothing but good things about the BCLM we decided to give it a visit ourselves.
We booked our full price tickets online before turning up which was perfect 👍 all sorted we thought….
When we arrived half of the attractions were shut due to building works or the fact that they had been shut and wasn’t ready for opening 😵😵 but there was no mention of this on the website and it was definitely not reflected in the price because we paid FULL price for a part attraction! Fair enough we got a return ticket for the year but after todays experience we probably won’t be using said ticket. And finally £7.50 for no more than 25 chips and a piece of fish no bigger than my 8yr olds hand 🤣 you should be ashamed of yourselves BCLM. even dick Turpin wore a mask, maybe the chippy staff should.
I hate it
I went there on a school trip . It was horrible I hated it there was barely anything to see all the was to see was old house that have spider webs and all sorts of bugs this place needs a clean . I thought I would see more by the wsy it was 20 pounds I think in my opinion it was a complete waste of money. Please only go there if you are interested in history and want to find out about the past. By the way this is just my opinion dont let this effect you
Acsessible and amazing
Absolutely brilliant,we only payed for two people and can go back as many times as we want in a year!
Everything there is just full of life and cheerfull, there's activities in the streets for the children, metal works.
(chips are a bit expensive but very good)
Foldup ramps are available next to near every building you can fit, width wise with no moaning or arguments.
Free parking as well for blue badge holders
They also have a pickup vehicle from the top of the hill to bottom for users that you can call. (bit steep)
Right now large area's are under construction but it would still take all day to walk around it,it doesn't take away from the atmosphere. (due to be done by 2023)
The boat tour which is by another company, also can occupy wheelchairs onboard.
(This sounds like a diss but the place isn't on here,oh my god don't even bother with blist hill, its so expensive and dangerous)
Not so Enchanted Christmas
Attended the so called “Enchanted Christmas” on Sunday 19th December and what a waste of time and money that was. Lacking in decorations, music and generally a Christmas theme of any sort never mind Nut Cracker. The best part was the braziers to keep you warm, even one of the staff asked “how is everyone…. not that I’m bothered but I’ve been told to ask”, they even charged you the privilege to park which wasn’t too bad as you knew you were on your way home to see some proper decorations along the route home….VERY POOR BCLM!!!!
