Amazing.
I was so touched by all the people I met in the process of adopting my cat.
It is crystal clear how much love and care and consideration you give to each of the animals.
I was also happy to see the place which each animal has.

I had the most wonderful experience adopting my dog Billy. It felt special: lots of help and I think the foster mum who had Billy did such a wonderful job. We love him to bits and he has fitted in so well! Xx

Professional team who really care. We had a perfect match and so pleased with our new family member. Battersea have been so supportive and kind and really helpful to ensure our new dog is settling in and offering guidance when needed.
Our experience when visiting was impressive and professional. We felt supported and part of the decision making which is so important to the dogs that are rehomed.

This is our third dog being rehomed in the last 15 years, our previous 2 we had for 6 years and 8.5 respectively before they went over the rainbow bridge. We saw our beautiful "Dora" (Pandora) on the website for old windsor and immediately felt a buzz as we had only just lost our beautiful Lola and the void she left in the home was enormous . Dora just had a certain something and after our initial enquiry, we spoke to a lady called Leah who spent a good amount of time going through all Dora's notes and medical history. It was extremely thorough and they clearly had a good vibe about us as potential new human parents for Dora and after a second chat the following day we we invited to meet Dora. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the dedicated dog behaviour specialists who was welcoming and very thorough in her information and giving us an expectation of what Dora will be like. After waiting a short time for her check in the vets, we met Dora and it was love at first sight! She was everything we hoped and more and she was an absolute joy. We met her foster home parents, Naomi and Gary and they gave us a first hand run down of her behaviours and routine and a printed info sheet with so much useful info. The time passed so quickly and we just couldn't wait to get her home. Everything about the whole experience at Battersea is about efficiency and getting things right for the dog and prospective owners first time. They do not protract the process like our previous rescue centre where we got our last two dogs and it was all taken care of in a couple of days rather than the 3 weeks with the other centre!
The way it operates at Old Windsor is a credit to the team there and the passion for animals is evident. They made sure we were aware of everything before we committed to taking Dora home and with space at a premium, its in their interest to getting loving new owners quickly to make room for more cases arriving. We are so thankful that the process was quick and easy and would recommend Battersea to everybody looking for a dog. The work they do is incredible and the people are heroes without capes! Hopefully we will get to spend 10 years with Dora but when we come to getting our next dog or dogs, we won't go anywhere else now as the whole rehoming experience has been amazing and the following up calls to check on her progress is a testament to the care they provide.

We have been looking to rehome a dog since may when we lost our dear Staffi after 13yrs . Our criteria. was they had to get on with our cat, which seemed an impossible task!
Battersea came to the rescue with a 9 week Staffi x who we have named Reggie ! He is a breath of fresh air . We started puppy classes straight away, & are taking him to shops, the beach , pubs etc to socialise him as much as possible. It’s great to be able to give a rescue dog a home , & we look forward to many years ahead .

We were offered a booklet about the best way to support your animals during the charade that is November the 5th the booklet never arrived but we have been harassed ever since via Email.
While I salute Battersea for the excellent work they do with animals I would suggest if you offer something see it through and don't let people and my animals down.

I am shocked reading some reviews. I am a subscriber and give monthly payments, I have always had updates on the work Battersea provides. I'm not a dog or cat owner but I love animals and only want the best for the dogs and cats as some are not so fortunate to have good homes. I will dismiss the bad reviews and concentrate on the good as I believe there is plenty of good done by Battersea. I will very much keep to a positive opinion.

Every member of staff that we came into contact with from our initial chat, to our visit and then rehoming our 2 lovely cats was great. You all obviously care a great deal for the animals you rehouse and we appreciated our starter pack too. Thank you to everyone we spoke to and met, we are so very happy with our new family members.

The aoption process was quick and painless. Battersea were so supportive. My kitten took 3.5 weeks to settle and there is still some way to go but the behavourist team helped with advice throughout.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is a truly special place. The re-homing process is efficient, but with a strong emphasis on finding the right cat for the right owner, with plenty of post-rehoming support available. We re-homed a kitten who had been found outdoors with her stray mother, and she is now a part of the family and a veritable bundle of joy. Battersea, you’re doing a fantastic job.

Ten out of ten for communication service and advice. Savannah (now called. Molly) has settled quickly and is enjoying exploring her garden.

Absolutely lovely staff who clearly care deeply for all the animals in their care. It’s obvious they work hard to ensure every animal is matched with the right person and goes to a thoroughly checked, loving home.
The team has been super helpful and easy to contact whenever I’ve needed anything. I recently adopted a cat and couldn’t be happier with the support I received throughout the process. This is clearly a place run by true animal lovers!

Live in West Yorkshire just had a guy knock on our door with the begging bowl out for Battersea dogs home that’s in the rich south with tv series and the rich and famous helping out so they come north taking money away from local animal charities just not right.

Cold caller fundraisers banged on my door at 2pm. 17 year old answered and was met with a fundraiser talking so fast and not letting her respond- my 3 year old then appeared at the door and still the fundraiser continued. After 2 minutes lecture 17 year old was only then asked if she was 25 and if mum was available. She said no to both and this caller walked away stating they would be returning at 20:30.
Brings us to 8:15 toddler is in bed and I am winding down after a long day and then comes the hammering at the door. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Wakes toddler up and gets my hackles up. Cold calling does regardless.
Bully tactics is not acceptable!

The processwas surprisingly swift and easy for us as a first time adapting a cat- the staff was very helpful and friendly and she guided us step by step on the first week of rehoming the cat.

We adopted Nala (formerly Toffee) from Battersea Dog & Cat Rescue on 12 July 2025, and I honestly can’t recommend them highly enough! The entire process was incredibly smooth and reassuring from start to finish. It began with an in-depth phone call with the rehoming team (shout out to Grace)to assess whether I was a suitable match for Nala, and whether our home and circumstances would meet her needs. Thankfully we did fit, they can match you to a dog/cat pending your circumstances, please know they are working on that basis! A few days later, we had the chance to meet Nala in person at Battersea. Jasmine, who introduced us, was fantastic-so knowledgeable and supportive, and she shared a wealth of helpful information.
After that first meeting, we got to meet Nala again which was great. Following on from that, the communication from the rehoming team was brilliant. We were kept fully informed at every stage and felt really supported throughout the adoption journey. The team works incredibly hard and genuinely cares about every animal in their care. The dogs are clearly loved and well looked after, they deserve every bit of funding and support.

Nala has been with us for just two weeks, and she’s already made herself at home. She’s absolutely obsessed with us & the feeling is mutual! We’ve loved sending updates, photos, and videos to the rehoming team to share how she’s settling in. Battersea also provides structured post-adoption support, checking in at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months, so you never feel like you’re on your own. You can always contact them with any questions, which is such a reassuring service.

We paid £220 for Nala, and she came fully vaccinated, microchipped, with some food, and even a little care/info pack when we collected her. The whole experience has been wonderful.

The staff at Battersea’s dog’s home were absolutely wonderful . It didn’t take long for me to have the pleasure of taking home the lovely hunee .

Who was looked after very well by all team at Battersea. I can tell they put in a lot of training with hunee as she is such a good dog .
I would definitely recommend Battersea dogs to anyone who wants to rehome a dog, well worth the money I paid for hunee.
