Collecting bags

Here we go again, Ifly British Airways so many times, and yet every time I have to go through the pain of waiting for my bags, hours and hours waiting for someone to deliver the bags, your customer service man had no clue what was happening, had to say was it's going to be at least another hour with no explanation why. Have you lost all of your staff, You must be getting so many complaints, and yet you're service does not improve. Shocking

BA Lounge in GRU ok shared with loads of airlines

Flight attendant names Michelle, Leandro, Scott

Flight on time

Meal choice time asked for wine with my meal and Michelle answered she couldn't take my order as "bar orders" would be taken afterwards.

10min later overheard her colleague taking orders offering wine, for after take off?!

When in cruise speed I lit my flight attended request as heard passengers all around me ordering their drinks

They switched it off without coming to attend me

I then insisted and off again no attendant, I then switched on and off three times -- Leandro came and repeated that they were not taking drink orders yet, and accepting that some get different treatment than others I then I remarked (at least!) about the wine with my meal -- Leandro replied that i would have an opportunity to order the meal wine when meal came -- never happened by the way!

Some 20min later, here comes Scott, to ask which bar drink I'd like, I asked for Baileys pointing to the menu, he goes off to check and in 10min, back with news no Baileys, I pointed to Cointreau on menu, goes to check and no Cointreau, yes another 10, finally the last one, cognac, and he brought it - sadly too strong for me, couldn't drink it -- oh dear

When my meal came, unlike what they said, they didn't ask at all for my choice of wine to accompany my dinner... I didn't ask either, as the entire crew being really unpleasant throughout the flight, no point.

The killer issue -- no front toilets, all blocked for passengers, so business class passengers sharing with the economy passengers the only two toilets available, queues were immensely long and fellow passengers annoyed with one another and fights and truly unpleasant situation of people jumping queues and getting really close to one another and shouting -- such a circus!

Do wonder what happened to our British Airways we all knew and loved. Is this change permanent or just during pandemic?

Grant Shapps the transport minister…

Grant Shapps the transport minister needs to step up to the plate.
This terrible and appalling customer service can no longer be allowed to continue.
Please everyone contact your Member of Parliament and insist that the government takes action against British Airways.

BA doesn’t care

I have been trying for 5 days to contact BA. When I telephone them, I just listen to music playing which becomes very annoying after several hours!. There is none of the usual updates about where in a queue your call is. Nobody picks up the telephone and after an hour I get automatically cut off and have to start again!
I try repeatedly until the phone batteries are dead.

Their customer care is non existent. If you have a choice of airlines DON’T USE BRITISH AIRWAYS.

NObody answer the phone, they don't have online chat.. worst customer service ever.
ITS WORST WORST THEY HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. COMPLETELY LACK OF ANY RESPECT to us the CUSTOMERs. Someone has to do something. i can not believe its happens.

BA right to cancel within 24 hours

This is about the BA right to cancel a booking within 24 hours. I booked a flight to Zurich back in September. I then got the news that my mother was seriously ill and I needed to cancel. I rang the customer service line numerous times, but it was not operating and I was not able to get through. With time running out, I used the only option available to me and sent an email via the BA website cancelling the booking. I received an automated reply, timestamped and clearly within the 24 hour period. Ten weeks later and BA still refuses to refund my ticket. The flight was a month later but they still marked me as 'no show' on the flight. It has been a very difficult time for me. My mother died a few days after falling ill. I myself have cancer. The money involved is not large but I am poor and I need this money. BA has fought every step of the way despite my circumstances. Shame on them. Shame on a company that uses the name of our country but behaves in such a shoddy way. To behave in this way when they are fully aware of my circumstances over such a small amount of money is just shameful. I have done everything correctly, they know the circumstances, yet they refuse to fulfill their own terms of contract. So beware...the 24 hour right to cancel is just a fiction. This company treats customers with absolute disrespect.

WORRIED

My wife and I are experienced travellers In view of the pandemic and being elderly we check in online, book a hotel close to the airport and use Airpotr to clear our luggage through to our destination. Regrettably online check-in now involves using Verifly an app that has a very poor rating. Neither BA nor Verifly take responsibility for creating the stress filled shambles that is now check-in.

Would have given -5. We left Dublin to London late, we arrived late and we were parked at a remote point so we needed to be bused to terminal 5. We were held for 15-20 minutes as the terminal we were to go to was loading people on another aircraft so we had to wait for this to complete. We eventually got to terminal and in to luggage collection where after 1 hour no luggage had arrived. We found a BA customer help person who claimed she couldn't do anything as it wasn't BA's who did the baggage handling, so as usual BA's were useless. Went back half an hour later and again she was no help but did get someone to use the PA system to advise our luggage would be 20-30 minutes late. After over 2 hours of waiting or luggage arrived. Can I say to BA's, telling us you apologise for any disruption is insulting, of course it causes disruption and problems, just get customer service staff that do what the sign says, "service".

Cancel flights to charge you more!

I sent this to BA via their complaints system on 14th September:

“I am booked as part of a group of 6 passengers on a flight to Belfast on 7th October. Originally flight 1416 was to depart at 12:30 this was changed to flight 1418 departing at 17:15. The departure has been delayed again to 19:00. This causes significant disruption to our stay in Belfast and results in us arriving after the hire car office closes. The member of our group organizing the trip has said that he looked at your web site and found that you are offering a flight at 15:10 but are now charging an extra £57 over the price we have already paid for our seats. This strikes me as a very dubious and underhand practice, bumping passengers onto less desirable flight times so that you can resell their seats at a higher price, or force the bumped passengers to pay more!

I am currently planning a family holiday that will require long haul flights. This current issue with yourselves gives me no confidence that I can book with confidence with British Airways. A repeat of your current practice, the subject of this complaint, could severely disrupt many aspects of what builds into an enjoyable and hassle free holiday.

Having been loyal to British Airways over the years, I would be very interested in your comments on the current issue. I would also be very interested in how you can reassure me, allowing me to regain my confidence in using British Airways in the future and not flying with one of your competitors.”

I received the following acknowledgement "Thank you for telling us about your issue. We are now directing your case to the appropriate department and you should hear back from us shortly. To date (21st September) I have not heard anything. Is this really the best we can hope for from an organization like BA. I think that their treatment of customers is very unprofessional and puts them at the bottom of the league table for customer relationships. I would have rated them as zero stars if the system allowed.

Seats reallocated on the back after paying 100 euros to chose my seats with young kids

After paying a 100 euros for having specific seats on the front with my 2 young kids (2 and 4), I just received an email today telling me that my seats have been changed ("you have been allocated are of the same type as your original seats or a suitable alternative"). We are now separated and on row 25.
To stay together on row 20, I even had to pay an extra 9 euros.
Eventually, I tried to call BA but after waiting 5 minutes , the automatic voicemail told me that due to an elevated number of calls they cannot take my call.

Total Scum

This is how they treat their customers.
They greedily take your hard earned money.
When your own Government say don't travel because of Covid and the place that you're going to says stay away, what do British Airways do? Pocket your money and offer you a non transferable credit note with a restricted period of value.
How do I know when Covid will disappear? How do I know if I will travel ever travel by Britsh Airways at 75?
They are a disgrace to the flag they display on their aircraft.
They make Ryanair look good.
Fellow traveller find another airline and have an enjoyable trip.
I hope that the demise of the Executives is long and painful

Trustworthy and customer focussed

Trustworthy and customer focussed. When my travel was cancelled by pandemic last year, I did not have to lift a finger to get my money back. It was all automatically processed and reached my account with no problems. That's why this year I have decided to book all my travels with BA, there's Book with confidence in place and I simply trust them.

Absolutely appalling experience AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Absolutely appalling experience. British Airways, unfortunately, has lowered it's standards and to my dismay, I've been recently having a much better flying experience with budget airlines rather than BA. Customer service representatives are completely clueless, unprofessional and "not bothered". The airline is not to be trusted, I recently had my flight cancelled on 3 occasions and the staff wasn't even remotely interested to help me return home.
I'll be from now on using Delta or Virgin Atlantic as the times when BA was considered reliable and trustworthy are LONG gone.
AVOID BA, that's all I can say.

CRAP SERVICE BY BRITISH AIRWAYS

My wife and I were booked to return to Cape Town from London on 13th January. WE had a Business class tickets and seats were booked. They cancelled that flight (not sure why as only the UK had banned direct flights FROM SOuth Africa and not the other way round). WE tghen booked on 14th on same flight. That also was cancelled - no reason given. I had aleady written many emails to Executive Club and their Customer Servbices asking them if the cancelled th BA flights to transfer us to their Partner airline, Qatar airways. All I got from the Executive club was that they would pass on my request to their Customer Service - No response from Customer Services and when we tried their 0800 number it automatically cut off after 5 rings !! What an appalling situation by BA that they just cut you off because they have too many calls coming in due to cancellations. I know there is Covid but they should easily be able to transfer their passengers to their Partner Airline - otherwise why are they a Partner !! Of course I did not hear anything from BA at all and they left us in the lurch. They are obliged to get us to our destination even if it means transferring us to another airline !! Anyway the only way home to SA was by Qatar and I then had to pay Qatar fro a single flight. As we were on Business Class it is actually CRAP that BA did not transfer us to Business Class Qatar. And by the way ROSS MCDONALD is supposed to be on the complaints team - the man is a fu...ing joke !!! He's just come out of nappies - he needs to sort himself out !! I am going to write to Sean Doyle their CEO who was appointed last October 2020.

Poor customer service

First, my flight was cancelled and I needed to call the customer service if I wanted to get a cash refund instead of having this option online as getting a voucher is. After a month, I only received half of the money I paid, and when I called the customer services, I was informed that they did not know the reason and that I would need to call in 5 to 7 days to see whether they had received the information since they needed to contact the refund team.

It is quite unbelievable that a customer needs to chase down a company for a refund. I would expect British Airways to refund the remaining amount or to call me to explain the situation instead of me needing to call them in 5 to 7 days to see whether they know the reason and if not to keep calling them.

On top of that, the customer service is extremely slow, every time you call you need to wait like half an hour. The staff is polite, I give them that.

Terrible service

Terrible service, they canceled my flight 2 times and were unable to tell me when a refund will be issued.
Customer service not helpful at all and reaching them takes ages. Extremely disappointed!

British Airways only refunds two thirds after waiting for over 8 months

Over 18 months ago we paid British Airways for two return flight to Sydney.

We flew out normally however we could not fly back due to COVID-19 restrictions and British Airways flight cancellations.

We have waited eight and a half months for a refund which I saw in my credit card today. For some reason British Airways only refunded two thirds of what we paid for the return flight.

They have supplied no paperwork whatsoever explaining how this figure was calculated or why they decoded to keep part of the refund for themselves

Not sure what options are available. Any suggestions that anybody has would be greatly appreciated.

Same day, 3 hours later:-

I have just spent a long time on the telephone talking to customer relations and they have assured me that the amount is correct but they can not provide a breakdown because the reference is so old that it has been "Purged".

Simply expecting the cost of the return sector to be half that of the round trip flight is not the way that British Airways work.

Not happy with BA

I first contact BA for a refund for my flight from Glasgow-Gatwick & return on the 2nd of August 2020, as they have decided, stupidly not to use Gatwick anymore, very strange decision that one!

I was told I would have to wait up to 21 days for the refund, well I’m beyond that now and still nothing.

So the next recourse will be the CMA and the small claims court!

It’s not asking much, just pay the money back now.

I will never use BA again after this and these were business class tickets, your loss, but never again for me!!

The request for a seat refund from BA

Seats were reserved and paid for on flights on 20 and 30 June as part of a holiday package to France. Due to the Corona Virus the holiday company cancelled all of their holidays and BA cancelled many of their flights. Not unreasonably I requested a refund of the premium I had paid for the seats on 18 April (Incident:200418-001109). After many unanswered e-mails BA have now said I am not entitled to a refund as I had cancelled the requirement myself. They didnot run any of the flights at the time themselves. So beware of trying for a seat refund from BA. A very sad exercise from a company I used to have a great respect for.
