Wir haben es geschafft in 5 Tagen 3 Autos unterschiedliecher Fabrikate. Das erste Fahrzeug wahr ein Renault der gleich am nächsten Tag kapput ging. Warnleuchte Einspritzsystem. Wir haben es geschafft 80 km zurück nach Athen zu fahren mit sehr lagsam laufenden Motor. Das Fahrzeug wurde dann in der Station in Athen gewechselt. Da erhielten wir einen Dacia der uns am 2. Tag der Nutzung kapput ging, da hat sich die Wasserpumpe aufgelöst. Da standen wir 180 km entfernt von Athen. Wir haben uns von einer befreundeten Familie abholen lassen. Wieder in der Abholstation haben wir dann einen Audi Q3 erhalten, mit dem wir dann am nächsten Tag zum Flughafen gefahren sind. Leider konnten wir das Fahrzeug nicht tanken, da sich die Tankklappe nicht öffnen lies. Die Fahrzeuge sind alle nicht ordnungsgemäß geartet, deshalb eintstehen diese Schäden. ich weiß von was ich rede ich bin Kfz Meister. Aber die Mietwagenfirma meinte daß der erste Schaden kein Schaaden wahr und man das Auto gleich wieder vermietet hat. Das nächste Problem ist die Tankregelung. Man unterzeichnet einen Vertrag, wo die Benzinmenge eingetragenist, aber wenn man zum Auto geht, stimmt diese nicht überein. Eigentlich wahr die Anmietung und Rückgabe voll zu voll gebucht.
ICH KANN DIESE FIRMA NICHT WEITER EMPHELEN!!!

Ultra smooth experience with AVANCE

We had a ultra smooth experience with the Syggrou office, renting a car that was as described and in good condition and having very good communication with them. Dropping off at the airport was really smooth too.
This is a company I feel confident with will approach again for sure.

Unexpected Downgrade at Pick-Up

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience.
I booked and paid for a Peugeot 2008 (or similar B-SUV), but at pick-up I was given a Dacia Sandero Stepway, which is clearly a lower category.

I asked for a similar vehicle or even a paid upgrade, but was told that nothing else was available. I had no real alternative at the time and had to accept the car, only to return it shortly after and rent from another company.

This caused unnecessary stress, extra costs, and time loss. Even though the downgrade was acknowledged, the situation should not have happened in the first place.

I would not recommend AVANCE if you expect to receive the car category you booked.

Not recommended

Not recommended! They gave me a car that was already violated before my rental. Due to this, when i took the car, everything that i had in it were stolen!!! Nobody informed me about the damage when i received the car!

Katastrophal

Ich hatte mich dazu entschieden zum ersten Mal am Flughafen Thessaloniki direkt am Terminal ein Wagen zum Mieten und hatte mich dazu entschlossen dies bei Avance zu tun mein größter Fehler.
Das Fahrzeug war rund um ramponiert komplett mit Dellen und fetten Kratzer verseht dazu der linker Schweller hatte mal ein fetten schlag bekommen und der rechter Außenspiegel komplett verkratzt wie mit Schmirgelpapier. Die Unverschämtheit überhaupt entgegengesetzt der vertraglichen Vereinbarung das die Kaution auf mein Kreditkartenkonto blockiert wird wurde der Betrag von knapp 900,00,-€ gerade mal 20 Min nach Fahrzeugübernahme von mein Konto abgebucht und erst nach 4 Wochen wieder mir gutgeschrieben. Auf meine mehrmaligen Nachfragen hin telefonisch und schriftlich bekam ich nur pampige Antworten dafür sei meine Bank verantwortlich die hätten damit nichts zu tun.
Wer eine anständige und seriöse Autovermietung am Flughafen Thessaloniki sucht sollte Avance unbedingt meiden ich kann diese auf keinen Fall weiter empfehlen wenn es ginge würde ich minus 10 Sterne vergeben.

Fantastic service

I booked a car with Avance through Discover Cars for a trip to Kos in October. Pick up and drop off were fast, efficient and easy thanks to friendly helpful staff at the airport. There was absolutely no attempt to sell me add-ons but my prebooked insurance was acknowledged without fuss. I was even given an upgrade.

🇬🇷 Vi var lidt i vildrede i lufthavnen med hvem vi skulle leje bil af…. Men spurgte her og fik det her for 1000 kr for en uge fri kilometertal og bilen var fin til ture rundt på øen, depositum kom den samme dag vi afleverede bilen. 🇩🇰

FIRST THINGS FIRST: THIS IS "ALAMO"RENTAL NOT AVANCE.
I CONTACTED ADVANCE TO BOOK A CAR FROM THESSALONIKI FOR 34 DAYS AND DROP IT AT ATHENS AIRPORT.
I explained I will do about 3.5k Kms I'm coming from abroad and I got lots of luggage and bags. I was about to travel from north of Greece to northeast and then all the way down south to mainland Athens and Attica.
I never even asked for a small or cheap car . We agreed to the price and proceed to booking. The lady told me that it will be an extra charge as a guarantee €870 but she said won't be leaving my bank account and I asked more than twice and she confirmed No the money won't leave your account will be :" commitment of a sum of money"
SO WE ARGEED AND CONTINUE.

ONCE I ARRIVED AT THE OFFICE IN THESSALONIKI AT : AGGELAKI 7 STREET
THE GENTLEMAN IN THE OFFICE SAID OK PLEASE PAY THE GUARANTEE TO PROCEED, I SAID EXCUSE ME THE LADY ON THE PHONE SAID WILL BE COMMITMENT OF A SUM OF MONEY,HE SAID I DONT CARE WHAT THE LADY SAID ON THE PHONE,THIS IS HOW WE DO IT.
LONG STORY SHORT I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO WASTE AS WAS BUSINESS TRIP ,I PAID AND HE SAID THE MONEY WILL BE RETURNED IN 3-5 DAYS ONCE THE CAR IS RETURNED.
PAID THE MONEY SIGNED THE PAPERS AND THEY PROVIDED ME A SMALL CAR WHICH WASN'T ENOUGH SPACE FOR OUR LUGGAGE.

I SAID GUYZ THIS IS NOT BIG ENOUGH ALSO ENGINE CAPACITY WAS SMALL FOR ALL THE LOAD AND SUCH A LONG LONG TRIP.

7 DAYS LATER ON THE WAY BACK AND DOWN SOUTH CONTACT AGAIN THE OFFICE IN THESSALONIKI, KINDLY ASKING FOR ANOTHER CAR. SAME RESPONSE WE DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CAR TO PROVIDE.

CONTINUED MY TRIP DOWN SOUTH.
RETURNED THE CAR EARLIER THAN WE AGREED due to circumstances and had to leave earlier abroad.

This was on 22 of September today 7 of October till no money RETURNED.

I am renting cars 9 years from different countries different companies.
This was my worst experience ever.
BE CAREFUL AVOID AT ANY COST .

On August 19, 2025, you contacted our call center and made a reservation for a vehicle in category C, with the corresponding indicative model communicated to you. You were informed in detail about the exact cost for the rental period, what was included in your offer, the requirements for vehicle pick-up, as well as the cost related to the drop-off location. After receiving all this information, you confirmed your booking.
We would like to remind you that vehicle reservations are confirmed by category only, not by a specific model or engine capacity.
At vehicle delivery, our station staff again informed you about the applicable procedures and that the car provided was in line with the category you had booked and paid for. We regret if you felt the staff’s explanation or behavior was unsatisfactory, but the process and vehicle allocation strictly follow company policy.
Regarding the amount for any unused days was refunded on the day you returned the vehicle, and we took all necessary steps to release the guarantee from the moment of vehicle return. Any further delay in releasing the hold on your funds is beyond our control, as it is a matter handled between banks, as you have also been informed in writing.

Excellent professional and understanding service - thanks

Booked a car in late Aug to mid Sept. Couldnt be happier with the service and attention to detail. Had an early concern but Advance people quickly managed it so that the rest of the trip went extremely smoothy. Pick up and drop off were smooth and professionally conducted and our rental, which included a baby seat and a booster, was great. Many thanks to the staff at Advance for their professionalism and understanding and ensuring our visit to this beautiful part of the world was a great experience.

Second year renting

We rent every year for minimum 4 weeks and this was second year renting with Avance from Athens airport. Their customer service is excellent. Their vehicles are not always in the best shape or super clean but their lower reasonable rates compensate. It was our second year renting with Avance and comically both years our vehicle had one backup light that was not functioning. Air conditioning was faulty early on during our 6 week rental so we opted to drive over 2 hours to switch vehicles. We were credited with 2 days rental for our trouble. The tire pressure light went on during our drive to return vehicle. Pick up and drop off at ATH was very easy and quick. They are easy to communicate with before and during rental which is what will keep us coming back as customers.

Mislead and Cheated

I rented a car for 2 months, paid in full and then I was charged for 2 extra days. I specifically asked the dates covered to be clarified for me. Even thought dates were in the contract, I was still charged 2 extra days. They are dishonest and misleading. I do not recommend this car rental company.

You were informed in advance of the monthly rental rate. As your rental duration extended beyond 60 days, the total charge was calculated accordingly, based on the full rental period.

We used the services of avance twice

We used the services of avance twice, once in Paros and once in Naxos. The service was ok is Paros but far from ok in Naxos.
Paros: ok, recent car, pick up from port to car location and lovely welcoming from the staff.
Naxos: no real agency, only a guy with an avance tee shirt on the port. He is here with the car, an old nissan Micra, scratches everywhere, the paint is gently taking off on some parts. The gas tank is not full so you will obviously fill it with more than what you will really use. They take the number of your credit card, even the security code because they don't have a machine to take a bank imprint for the deposit. After returning the car when we asked for this data to be erased they player the fools and pretend to not understand. we are happy nothing happened like a car breakdown or a serious accident (crash tests changed a lot in 18 years) and will use a famous international company next time. @avance save your time by avoiding the classical "we are surprised to hear about your experience blah blah" answer

Vehicle Condition: In high-demand island locations like Naxos, especially during peak season, our fleet includes a range of vehicles. While some may be older, all are regularly serviced and meet safety and roadworthiness standards. The Nissan Micra you received was in line with the category reserved and underwent its required inspections.
Credit Card Handling: We take data protection seriously. In locations where card terminals are not available, a manual imprint may be required for the deposit. We apologize if the communication during your return process led to confusion.

Agence totalement catastrophique.
A FUIR ET VRAIMENT. CE SONT DES VOLEURS. ALLEZ À LÉON RENT A CAR À CÔTÉ.
Nous avons loué une Peugeot 208 que nous avons récupéré à 22h dans le noir.
L’état des lieu à la prise du véhicule a été fait de façon très brève, rien a été noté de la part d’Alexandre. Aucune photo prise, pas de vérification en profondeur.
Après avoir récupéré la voiture au port on ne nous informe pas que la barrière du port est baissé et nous nous retrouvons bloqué dans celui ci sans aucune information. Ça commence mal… au bout de 24h le voyant de la pression des pneus s’allume rouge. Un pneu totalement a plat a 24h d’utilisation …
On passe la semaine à faire très attention, nous ne prenons pas une seule route rocailleuse, nous nous garons seulement quand nous avons de l’espace et nous ne prenons aucun risque. A la fin de la semaine, au moment de rendre la voiture, on nous montre une rayure (que l’on a absolument pas faite) et on nous oblige à payer 150 euros sous la menace d’appeler la police si on le fait pas. Nous nous retrouvons contraintes à payer 150 euros pour une minuscule rayure sur une voiture dont l’état des lieus n’avait pas été réalisé.

C’est une honte, fuyez. En plus d’être voleurs, ils sont méchants et désagréables.

We encourage all our customers to notify us of any problems as soon as they arise so that we can address them promptly and ensure a smooth experience.
Regarding the scratch on the vehicle, we follow a strict policy of assessing all damages at the time of return. If a new scratch was discovered that was not there at the time of pickup, we are obliged to charge for the damage as per our rental agreement. This is done to ensure that all vehicles are returned in the same condition they were rented out. However, we understand your frustration and want to emphasize that we never aim to overcharge or mistreat customers.

Plat og svindel og elendig service

At firmaet påstår, at når man lejet en bil med plads til 2stk.100L.og 2stk 50L kufferter,stemmer det med en Fiat punto...De er helt på månen,måtte bruge 1.5 time på at diskutere med dem.Og endte så med at måtte betale 1000kr ekstra for en bil hvor der kun lige kunne være 2stk.100L kufferter i bagagerummet.

Agence catastrophique.

Agence catastrophique.
Nous avons du changer 2 fois de voiture en deux jours.
La première voiture était super vieille, le niveau d’huile à zéro et une ceinture de sécurité était cassée.
La deuxième voiture montrait une panne moteur et quand j’ai appelé l’agence, ils m’ont dit que ce n’était pas grave et que je pouvais continuer à rouler (sans savoir quel était le problème).
Comme j’ai insisté pour changer de véhicule afin de ne pas mettre mes enfants en danger, ils m’ont dit que la livraison du troisième véhicule était entièrement à ma charge!!!
De plus, pas un mot d’excuse pour les désagréments alors que cela a gâché 2 demies journées de nos vacances. Pire, le personnel se permet même de soupirer!!

La voiture avait un problème d'embrayage qui s'est manifesté 2 fois en 2 jours. J'ai demandé à changer de voiture dès le 3e jour et là, il fallait attendre le mécanicien, puis éventuellement une voiture de remplacement, qui n'était pas disponible mais le serait peut-être, bref une non prise en charge d'un problème simple.
Aucun service, une mauvaise volonté évidente et des personnes très désagréables me disant que la voiture n'avait pas de problème et que je ne savais pas conduire.
Heureusement que j'avais loué le véhicule par une plate-forme qui a fait l'effort d'exiger un dédommagement.
À éviter absolument !
Et quand on lit la réponse, toute la mauvaise foi et même le mensonge apparaît noir sur blanc.

As per your reservation, you requested a manual transmission vehicle from our Andros station, which was delivered to you on 07/07/2025. After nearly two days of use, you contacted the station reporting a strong odor emanating from the vehicle following your drive to a beach via a challenging road.
The station responded immediately, dispatching a mechanic to your location for an on-site inspection. Following the inspection, it was determined that the odor originated from the clutch plate. Based on the technician’s assessment, this was most likely due to prolonged driving in one gear or improper use of the clutch. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, the vehicle was taken to a workshop for a more thorough evaluation.
During the technical inspection, signs of clutch overheating were observed. However, no mechanical or functional faults were detected. In an effort to ensure your continued comfort and mobility, the station contacted you and offered a replacement vehicle with automatic transmission, which you chose to decline.
We would like to respectfully note that it would have been helpful if you had informed the station in advance about any lack of familiarity with manual transmission vehicles. In such a case, we would have been pleased to provide you with an automatic vehicle from the beginning, ensuring a more suitable driving experience and preventing any potential issues.
In light of the above, and given the immediate assistance and alternatives provided by our team, we respectfully do not understand or agree with your evaluation and comments.

They kept our deposit of 900€

As we didnt have a debit cart, we were asked to pay a 900€ deposit. It has been 4 month since we gave back the car without any problème, and our deposit was still not returned. No answers to our dozens of mails

Avance a Creta: ti noleggiano un’auto piena di piccoli bozzi, tu fai le foto ai danni maggiori ma quando torni per riconsegnare l’auto ti addebitano 124 euro per una micro lesione invisibile, che già c’era. Non vi fidate, a noi hanno fatto un furto, siamo indignati. La “signora” che si è occupata di ritirare l’auto non parla inglese, ha trafficato mezz’ora intorno e dentro l’auto per farci perdere tempo, maleducata e sgradevole. Sanno che rischiamo di perdere il volo e ne approfittano. Vergognosi
