I found much to enjoy on a trip this summer in terms of the activities, however, we had several couples who dominated the trip in an unfriendly way. These couples knew each other and planned their trip together. What surprised me was that the guides made no effort to defuse this. At the end of the trip, the lead guide said the guides failed to present at least half of their commentary due to the loudness of the couples. (The couples also seemed to broadcast sexist comments almost continuously.) I've seen other companies handle group dynamics in a more proactive way.

The Good: I truly enjoyed my adventure trip to Montana and our guides were very knowledgeable and pleasant. I especially enjoyed the lunches prepared by the guides and the casual nature of them. It seemed like each and every view was more spectacular than the rest and I would definitely recommend this trip to those who are very active and enjoy hiking. It was challenging but worthwhile for the views and exercise. I really liked the horseback ride on the ranch and met wonderful people on our trip.

The not so good: I spoke with and emailed an Austin Adventure several times in planning my trip and believe the level of activity was more strenuous than what was described and would certainly not be for everyone. It was more challenging than I expected. The uphill bike ride was too much for many of us. I think I would have enjoyed staying in only 2 locations versus 3. I found packing and unpacking rather annoying. If you take this trip there are locations to do laundry and there was one night that was more formal attire and we didn't know that and didn't pack accordingly. For the money, I don't think we should have had to pay for our own dinner one night and one of the places we stayed had a cafeteria style breakfast area with trays, plasticware, and the food was not good - this was disappointing from the standpoint of the money spent on this trip and the atmosphere was dark and depressing, although there was a nice view from the windows.

As a person who has traveled with Austin Adventures twice I can say they are everything they appear to be. A great trip that is not for people who want to relax or take it easy.

I wasn't able to get a good nights sleep at all until I took it upon myself to find another place to sleep the last night. One of the rooms was freezing cold and had rodents running around all night. When I reported it, the guide chuckled and told me I must have gotten the room with the animals living in the bathroom. There were flies and worms in the room also.

When I asked for an alternate activity after 4 nights of no sleep, I was told there was no alternative. Yet in the morning, one of the other guests told me she was offered an alternate activity, so I went with her. I don't understand why her request was honored but mine wasn't.

One guide kept talking about how glad she was that the season was almost over. It was obvious that she didn't want to be there. She gave no eye contact and had very little to say the entire trip.

It was the worst vacation I've ever had. It was not cheap. Oh, did I mention that for my inconvenience I was offered $100 off my next trip with Austin Adventures? Ha, ha!

The first two trips I took were really good, but the quality of my vacation experience this time was terrible. It's sad to see the drastic decline in quality.

Austin adventures accommodated my whims by blending side activities I chose into their regular tour itinerary. Dinner in Fort William and high end Tea were especially memorable. The had a seamless working relationship with Wilderness Scotland, our local guide and outfitter.

This tour by far exceeded the expectations of our whole family thanks to the three amazingly passionate guides (Alex, Rostyn and Sarah) and their wealth of knowledge for the Yellowstone area. There was no way we could ever get the same experience seeing the area independently. You have to experience an Austin Adventures tour to understand. Every element was exceptional. We can't wait to see Alaska with them.

I have been on 6 vacations with Austin Adventures, and they have all been fantastic. They provide excellent guides that know the areas, know where to get good food, and add in several "extras" to make the trip even more special. I plan to continue to use their services for my vacations - in the US and world-wide.

We flew into Munich ...We saw a Castle and ate at such a wonderful German restaurant. Our guide was wonderful and so nice, knowledgeable and relaxing. He was so accommodating and picked great nooks and crannies here and there. The next day we biked & climbed stairs to a gorgeous gorge. The hotels were top class. Our historical tours were so interesting. Loved the biking though the clean and unique towns. The hiking and ice cave and the steps to each beautiful waterfall, just great a real unique experience .Each day was filled with twist and turns with beautiful sites and scenery. Gondolas, walks Wow!! We biked & hiked to three different locations in Austria, from hotel to hotel. From the moment we arrived we were jammed packed with great activities wonderful treats and delicious restaurants, & Hotels. Just would recommend this trip and our guide Ron. In addition I had ice cream, chocolate and pastries every day and did not gain a pound. I want to go on another trip with Austin Adventures soon! Wished the group was larger. It was almost a private tour.

I have travelled with Austin Adventures twice now and I would not hesitate to go again. From the second I met up with the guides, everything went perfectly. I didn't have to worry about meals or hotels or equipment. Everything was taken care of. The level of service is amazing. From homemade ice cream on the top of a mountain to Fresh fruit while Floating in a Kayak on the ocean. The guides spoil you. It doesn't matter where you go, the trips are amazing with a ton of activity that you might not get access to had you gone on your own. I will never forget my time on these trips and look forward to going again

The trip was fabulous. Guides were exceptional. Could not have improved on the trip. No fault of the company that Yellowstone River was closed.

Austin Adventures showed to be very professional all the way thru our trip organisation. Diligent, patient and easy to deal with. Our adventure trip to Croatia was perfectly organised, and Marko, our guide, was very knowledgable and respectful. I will definitely use Austin again in the future.

I have been on about 10 trips with Austin Adventures--mostly bicycle trips in various parts of Europe, but also a bike trip in South Dakota. This trip was great, as I have come to expect. Super-nice guides, spectacular scenery, delicious food, lots of stuff to do but also some opportunities to do what I want. As one of my favorite guides always says, "if I didn't have fun, it's my fault," because they do everything they can to make it just what I want to do. I note that I didn't ride as much as usual on this trip, because I showed up sick, so I rode in the van more than usual, and I still had a blast.

This was my first time traveling with a group like this and I will be doing it again!! I had a great time, wonderful guides and some amazing travel mates!

This was our 3rd trip with Austin Adventures. Just like the first 2, it was great. Guides were really good and took care of all our needs. Also came up with good alternatives when weather did not cooperate! Would definitely go on more trips with Austin Adventures

This was our third trip with Austin. What truly makes this company great are their guides! We had nearly a week of rain and not once did they seem down! Heck, it was a blast to hike in the rain with full rain gear on! The days are well planned and you just know you have had an incredible experience when you return and think, "oh wow, where are we going next year".

I have thoroughly enjoyed every vacation I have been on with Austin Adventures. Very professionally and expertly managed. The guides do everything they can to ensure an enjoyable experience for their patrons.

When there's too much to possibly see in one week, leave it to Austin Adventures. Not only do you have the very best, and knowledgeable guides, you also see all the important things and all the "special"places that the general tourist might not know about. I was able to enjoy the vacation instead of stressing out about organizing, feeding, transporting, etc. and finally the guides make the vacation extra special by giving you information about everything. Our hikes included lessons on wildlife and plants. My kids loved it!

I recently completed my first trip with Austin Adventures. I am so glad I found them. Everything is first class from the guides to the water bottle they provide you! And they keep their group number low unlike another well known company that has groups of up to 24! It provides a much better way to really connect with your guides and your fellow travelers. Their daily lunches are the best in the business!
I am looking forward to taking more trips with Austin Adventures.
