I am a Ground School Instructor specialising with General Navigation (ATPL). I have 7 years tutoring experience working with ATPL/CPL/PPL cadets and GCSE/A-Level students (Maths and Physics). I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a first-class degree in Aerospace Engineering and A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. When I was in Ground School, time and time again I saw how the cadets and instructors were not on the same page. The instructor with decades of experience would try to explain something, the cadets would say 'What?' and then the instructor would just repeat what they said more slowly, not very helpful. All those years under their belt adds a false sense of thinking everything is obvious; this is a detriment to the struggling cadet. I got tired of this so had to take action, my previous tutoring experience led me to step in and help my struggling course mates. Soon enough I was being invited around for dinner every day so I could tutor and show how to approach questions in the most understandable way. I have permanently lost my class 1 medical, however will never lose my passion for aviation and teaching. After knowing I would not get my medical back, I took some time to recover and then created ATPL Approach. With my videos and courses I believe I can help many through their training.

I was really having a hard time getting my head around General Navigation. Then I saw one of ATPL APPROACH’s videos on YouTube. The method in which he explains the concepts were really easy to get my head around. I booked a few classes with him and after that it was a cakewalk. The way he simplified and broke down the questions was really easy. I passed my exam with a score of 92 percent.
Ranjeev is a smart, kind and enthusiastic tutor! Throughout Groundschool Ranjeev helped me with multiple challenging subjects such as POF, General Navigation and Flight Planning.
I was struggling to use the pooley and Ranjeev helped me to master it in a way I knew how to use all the scales and methods in order to work through and solve problems. At any point he was always available and ready to help. For every question I had Ranjeev always had an answer and would explain the topic at hand in great detail. He did this by firstly explaining the topic with great resources and showing me different methods to tackle any exam question regarding that section of the subject. Ranjeev is the perfect tutor as he has great qualities as mentioned above including being patient as he always makes sure the student understands and is confident before moving on which was always a huge stress relief!
I highly recommend him as he makes learning really enjoyable and easy with his very effective methods. I was able to attain great results in my exams and Ranjeev was a major factor in that achievement.
Ranjeev is a true wizz kid! He helped me throughout groundschool mainly with POF and Gen Nav and explained stuff in layman terms to ensure everything was fully understood. He would regularly be my first point of call for help, ahead of the ground school instructors because his simplified explanations made everything “click” for me.
He also helped me with getting to grips with the pooley - something which I initially really struggled with. His patience and persistence is what allowed me to perform to the best of my abilities.
