In good hands
When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer towards the end of 2024 we were devastated and all the worst case scenario's fly through your head. It was a very stressful time to say the least. However, we needn't have worried because we had a wonderful woman on our side in the shape of Sabine Monika Segelcke based in the Quesada office. She held our hand throughout diagnosis and treatment, she is kind, helpful and dedicated to getting a positive outcome. I finish my eight week radiotherapy treatment on the twelfth of June and hopefully all will be well. I would also like to mention the doctors and staff at Quiron salud, very happy with the way I've been treated.
I am seriously thinking of leaving…
I am seriously thinking of leaving ASSSA. On starting the policy, I was informed that the premium charges would not increase. Unfortunately, this is not true and have increased in six years from 85€ to 115€ per month today. I am also finding that they also have lots and lots of clauses listed under “general conditions” which mean that they do not cover many issues. I fail to understand why I will have to pay hundreds of euros on tests that will hopefully diagnose my issues. Surely, these tests will diagnose future problems and save expensive treatment in the future...this is ASSSA madness.
When I have had treatment, I have found that I have to purchase the associated expensive medication, these are not covered by ASSSA.
The private hospitals also leave a lot to be desired. No better than the poor ones in the UKs NHS.
Recently I had a designated timed appointment.. I faced over two hours waiting times.
On one occasion, I required emergency treatment. The emergency line was not answered.. so much for emergency cover and a private ambulance.!
One positive. The staff in my local ASSSA office are excellent.

When one is not feeling well the girls there always have a smile on their faces and couldn't be more welcoming and helpful.
They really are a great team.

Intervencion quirurgica
Recientemente, tuve una intervención quirúrgica ,el bufete médico recomendado por el servicio de atención de Asssa, ha sido inmejorable. Todo los tramites han sido rápidos y eficaces .Muy satisfecho por los resultados.
Mi experiencia de su cuadro médico, es muy buena, son profesionales muy cualificados y asimismo su ubicación geográfica ,me permite ser atendido sin grandes desplazamientos.
Respecto al trato con las oficinas ,no es que sea muy frecuente, pero siempre que lo he utilizado, han solucionado rápida y eficazmente mis cuestiones
Una verdecepciongüenza de póliza con un sinfín…
Una vergüenza de póliza con un sinfín de cláusulas q te vas enterando conforme surgen los problemas. Hace poco me enteré que se dispone de 30 maximo sesiones de rehabilitación al año por ejemplo. Es un seguro médico que cuando te haces mayor, te lo ponen cada vez más difícil a ver si te vas cuando más lo necesitas, no aconsejo a familias jovenes elegir esta seguro medico. Yo me equivoqué.
Awful company. AVOID
Awful company. Developed worryingly low blood pressure and saw first GP. Did f listen to a word I said and sent me off with prescription for ear infection despite having no symptoms of that. Saw another who agreed it was strangely low something I’ve never had before. Was sent for ECG test and treadmill test all fine. Then saw a neurologist who was excellent and recommended blood tests and a vascular test which ASSSA have denied on the basis I did not declare I had an injection in my eye for a detached retina 40 years ago…..they will wriggle out of paying any claim and have cancelled my policy with no discussion leaving me alone in another country with no health insurance and I don’t yet qualify on my visa for public health service. Disgusted by them.
AsssA declined to pay for the lazor involved in my urgent surgery
AsssA declined to pay for the lazor, involved in my urgent kidney surgery , the hospital reported they have never heard of this before saying 'its crazy' . I took out thier standerd policy £1700 for the year . Had to pay the 2000 for the use of the lazor.

exclusion of reimbursement for age-related diseases
We (70+) have only been members of Asssa for 2.5 years. Applications for treatments went fairly quickly. My partner did not need anything, unfortunately I did. In my opinion, Asssa's decision-making is often unfair. Old age diseases only manifest themselves after a long time, such as cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, arthrosis for example. Sometimes it is often only after years that you really get problems with them. Think of a worn hip, clogged veins, pinched spinal nerve. Asssa then judges that it started before you took out insurance and does NOT reimburse ANYTHING for this.
Shocking experience
Sadly I cannot recommend this company. Their selection of service providers is shocking. The staff are helpful but essentially all this company do is book your appointments, it is totally different to the UK private health experience where you get the highest standard of medical care.
Gestión nefasta
Soy asegurada de ASSSA, procedente de la Mutua Shared Care, la cual fué absorbida por ASSSA.
Desde entonces, la gestión administrativa con ASSSA ha sido lamentable. Hasta en 2 ocasiones no me han atendido en urgencias, teniendo que irme sin ser atendida, hasta no poder recoger unos resultados por no reconocer la tarjeta de la mutua ASSSA. Y claro, sin poder contactar con ellos porque a las 17.30 hrs las oficinas cierran y te quedas sin atención...
En otra ocasión el centro médico quería hacerme pagar los honorarios de la visita, cuando desde ASSSA me decían que sí que había cobertura con ese centro médico.
Con fecha 31/12/24 causo baja en la póliza, por los motivos expuestos anteriormente, alertando de ello a la compañía, sin poner remedio en su nefasta gestión.
Y con fecha de hoy 22-11-24 me notifican que me deniegan una intervención quirúrgica para el día 17/12/24, siendo asegurada desde hace 20 años. El motivo : la cirugía con laser no está cubierta. Señores, tengo la póliza de mejor cobertura con esta compañía. No es creíble en absoluto.
No recomiendo para nada esta mutua médica, donde todo ha acabado en decepciones. No te dan soluciones, eso sí, todo son buenas palabras, pero sin solución....

Me has dado muchas buenas razones para renovar, pero has dejado fuera una de las más importantes: la forma en que gestionas personalmente mis consultas, citas y cualquier problema relacionado con mi póliza.
En todos mis años, tanto en Australia como aquí en España, no recuerdo a nadie tan atento y servicial en el servicio al cliente, no solo en seguros sino en general.

Went down to the Mazarron office of Asssa last week.
Jane and Diane run this office.
They are both so helpful and organised a trauma consultation for my husband very quickly.
Would definitely recommend Asssa to anyone thinking of taking out private healthcare.
The bonus to us is also having two personal assistants we can visit and talk to instead of an anonymous person on a phone.

I needed an insurance for the student visa. Valentina from ASSSA provided exceptional service. She replied on weekend, with very clear instructions and got the policy in just couple days. Definitely recommend if you want hassle free service.
Excellent experience
We were really nervous looking into private healthcare as we have recently moved to Spain. There are lots of companies and lots of very mixed reviews. Thank goodness we found the team at ASSSA in Javea, particularly Jennifer and Pilar. They have been amazing from start to finish. Nothing is too much trouble and they are delightful. In addition the cover has also turned out to be perfect, authorisations are managed swiftly and every medical professional has also been fantastic. I really cannot recommend them highly enough.
