ASSSA es lo peor
ASSSA es lo peor. Me dijeron que tenía que actualizar mi póliza porque era un requisito para mi nueva solicitud de visa de residencia. Estaba dispuesto a pagar la nueva póliza del año siguiente un poco antes para poder obtener una nota de cobertura para la visa. Esto nunca sucedió. Tienen "agentes locales" a los que es imposible contactar (ni por teléfono ni por correo electrónico). Solicité un reembolso hace dos meses porque cuando llegó la copia de la nueva póliza, todavía tenía la antigua, no la actualizada que me dijeron que necesitaba. He estado intentando obtener un reembolso, pero siempre me dicen (si es que recibo respuesta) que "la oficina central está investigando el caso". No contraten un seguro médico con ASSSA. Son pésimos.
ASSSA are the worst. They told me I had to update my policy because it was required for my new residency visa application. I was willing to pay for the new policy for the following year a little early so I could get a visa cover note. This never happened. They have "local agents" who are impossible to reach (either by phone or email). I requested a refund two months ago because when the copy of the new policy arrived, I still had the old one, not the updated one they told me I needed. I've been trying to get a refund, but they always tell me (if I even get a response) that "the head office is looking into it." Don't get health insurance with ASSSA. They are terrible.

This is an expensive way to get the necessary insurance for an NLVisa. Do not consider it medical coverage. Also you must cancel at least a month before it expires otherwise it renews automatically. I have not even been able to get my teeth cleaned. Try Sanitas for equal or better service for 23.8% of the cost. I definitely consider my purchase of this insurance an error based in ignorance.
Not quite what it says on the tin!
We have been with Asssa for the past three years so thought it was the best time to share our experiences with others. Firstly, most 5* reviews on here are a reflection of the service from the local office and yes, that is nearly always very good. They are trying to sell you a product after all. What we have experienced when we signed up is not what we expected. We have the 'Standard cover' policy and we have found that when we have needed to use the services, some of what we would call 'basic' treatments are not included in our cover, which is probably why the 'user manual' is quite vague about what you are actually covered for and not covered for! You have to get permission from Asssa BEFORE you have ANY non emergency procedure done and this is when these surprises come to light. Also, even though it shows in their manual that most facilities are English speaking, don't rely on this until your Spanish is up to speed because it may not be the case!! Asssa will also increase your premium each year regardless of whether you have any claims or not! After being in Spain for a couple of years, we decided to join the brilliant Spanish healthcare system with the 'convenio especial' but be aware, Asssa don't like to let you go so easily, so if you do decide to take out a policy with them and at some point decide to leave, MAKE SURE that you give them at LEAST a months notice of cancellation of your policy renewing on 1st January OR THEY WILL automatically renew the policy and charge you for it as per their T&Cs which will result in costing you £thousands for something that you don't want!

I have recently had a bereavement and I would like to mention Dagmar in the Denia office for her kindness and for being so helpful to me at this sad time. She has also assisted me in the past when my husband was ill. I find her calm, gentle and kind. She has all the qualities needed for a difficult job.
Greedy Company - with no care
The only thing you get with this company is a quicker appointment - absolutely no concern as to what consultant at hospital recommends they go for the cheapest option (in my case barbaric invasive surgery rather than new modern option) won't release me from policy early (in my case they approved an invasive operation €2500 - but wouldn't pay €3000 for more recommended modern proceedure I am not allowed to pay difference- madly ASSSA is holding me to €82 per month premiums till end of year (just over €700) whilst still approving €2500 operation (which I won't go for if they let me out of policy to allow me to save for modern proceedure (disgusting)

Llevo con ASSSA poco tiempo, un año y cuatro meses, mi experiencia con ellos ha sido muy positiva, he usado el seguro por un dolor de espalda y no he tenido ningun problema, todo lo que he necesitado me lo han concedido, hasta una RMN y sesiones de reabilitación, varias dudas que he tenido me las han resuelto muy rapido, el personal de ASSSA con el que he tenido contacto muy atento y amable, estoy muy contento con ASSSA.

Ik ben 4 jaar geleden in Sayalonga komen wonen en geniet dagelijks van het mooie leven. Daar hoort ook een goede gezondheid bij. 2 jaar geleden heb ik totaal onverwachts een herseninfarct gekregen en onlangs weer een terugval. Ik ben 56 jaar en super fit. Wat ben ik blij met ASSSA en vooral met de begeleiding van het super team in Torrox Costa / Virgina. Ze denken met mij mee en wat zo belangrijk is, ze komen zelf met aanvullende informatie en voorstellen. Er wordt meteen actie ondernomen. Ik spreek helaas uit ervaring, in het ziekenhuis moet je je verzekeringskaart tonen. Alles wordt meteen in werking gezet, nooit vragen. Zo moet het zijn. ASSSA kan ik iedereen aanbevelen.
Asssa should be avoided
Be careful because Asssa is a very bad insurance. When you have a knee problem and need surgery, they refuse to perform the operation, claiming that you did not report it when signing the contract.
It is an unreliable insurance policy and should be avoided.
No gratis, la contrato.
Le pongo 1 estrella, porque no puedo poner 0. Me cambié de mutua porque me ahorraba unos euros, pero lo barato me salió caro. La contratación fue una odisea, 40 emails tuve que mandar, me pedían mil informes de médicos, pero no me los pedían todos de golpe si no uno a uno. Ya empezamos mal, las coberturas son pésimas, vas a un hospital a un especialista pero en ese hospital no te entra ninguna prueba, tienes que irte a otro... Para pedir autorizaciones te piden informes del medico para todo, para las pruebas más básicas que en todas las mutuas que he estado no hay que pedir autorización, pues en esta si... Y para concluir son malos hasta para darte de baja, les envías un email, que contestan al mes y medio, y te contestan en mitad del mes que ya te han dado de baja, sin avisar con antelación o dejar un margen de tiempo para contratar otra... Está mutua no se la deseo ni a mí peor enemigo.

I used ASSSA for my health insurance when obtaining my residency 5 years ago . In those 5 years I have had health issues and always found ASSSA Very helpful in all aspects especially helping me in the language I speak when I never fully understood the processes I was going through. I have and will continue to recommend this company to my family and friends my wife has just gone through the process of joining and the ladies in the office couldn't be more helpful

Mi experiencia con Asssa está siendo muy negativa, contraté la póliza a mediados de Diciembre y hoy 4 de Enero sigo sin estar dada de alta en la mutua, no dispongo de la tarjeta en mi domicilio…Le comento a Natalia Chamizo que si harán una revisión en el precio de la cuota de Enero y me dice que no, que me pasarán la cuota íntegra con fecha de 1 de Enero. Porque tengo que pagar un servicio del que no puedo disfrutar y del que todavía no estoy dada del alta? Desde ya, no me parece una mutua seria, me estoy arrepintiendo de haber contratado

Please AVOID this company. We used ASSSA for our health insurance whilst we was waiting for our residencia to be confirmed. They tried to get us to renew for a second year in which we was undecided but the women told us on the phone that we can take our time with that decision and if you dont want to renew, dont pay for the new policy and it will automatically be cancelled. On her advise, thats what we did and now we are being chased for a large payment for a family off 5. The calls we have received since this have been so rude and abrupt and threatening, we are actually in shock at how bad their customer service have been. Please avoid, there are plenty other options out there.
This is a terrible company- AVOID
This is a terrible company which I would advise people to avoid at all costs. We paid in excess of £2000 for a policy which unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we were unable to proceed with. Asssa took the whole amount despite our policy not being due to start for another two months. Communication was very poor, almost non existent in fact. Additionally there was a significant data breach whereby they sent us information about another policy holder and their HIV status. They have no moral compass.
READ THE SMALL PRINT
Following an accident (broken ribs) I had an x-ray at Quiron Hospital where they discovered a cancerous tumour in my lung. The Hospital then required a PET CT Scan be carried out. ASSSA advised me that the scan was not covered under the conditions of the STANDARD policy. I had this policy for 14 years at a cost of around EUR 1000 per annum. I had wrongly assumed I was covered for any event. I have since had the scan and surgery under the Spanish National Health system who have been excellent. My advice is to check out what you are covered for with ASSSA (Diagnostic Methods 3.4) as they certainly will not advise you so long as they are collecting your premium every month!
