It is good but if you dont connect all of your bank accounts it questions all transactions but in theory it only asks for account where your income is paid into. Could be an easier process

Good service that was pretty straightforward to use.
The process was mostly intuitive, so reasonably easy to follow, but I did have a couple of occasions where I ended up being slightly frustrated.
That said, a far more preferable process than the 'old style' of dealing with these things and I love that passport scans and the like deal with soe much so effectively.

It is not user friendly for those who…
It is not user friendly for those who may be semi retired and are not receiving a regular income. The link to the bank did not work and confused the system and meant I needed to reset information. Why ask lots more questions when the information regarding salaries, including from where they originated, past and present is clearly stated in the bank statement.
Don't send me a creepy response quoting 4.7*or that lots of customers think you are marvellous - because I do not!

On the bank link issue, that sounds like it may be an Open Banking connection problem rather than a bug on our end - annoyingly some banks don't fully support it, particularly for certain account types. Our support team can help you work through it or set you up with manual statement upload instead, which avoids the connection issue entirely.

Easy if you don't have much of a savings portfolio
Fine if you are working and have a straightforward income and savings history. If you are retired and have over 40 years of savings portfolio and are active in monitoring savings rates, so you move your savings around regularly, it is a total nightmare! I had sold a house and was giving some of the proceeds to my daughter for her house purchase. Having to account for every source of income and every movement of savings was impossible and irrelevant.

Sorry to hear you found the process so difficult - we can completely understand why. For someone with a complex savings history built up over many decades, where money has been moved between multiple accounts, evidencing the source of funds is genuinely harder than it is for someone with a straightforward employment income, or a one-off event like an inheritance.
Unfortunately the requirements around verifying gifted funds come from your daughter's solicitor's Anti-Money Laundering obligations, and it sounds like yours is a case where answering the question "where did you get your money" is not as straightforward as it is for some people!
