Attempted to cancel Technician no call back no email response. Now getting threatened to be sent to collections

sent a technician to replace a malfunctioned stove top element. It was a 3000W/1400W(which i did not know until much later) and they put in a 2500W/1200W. it was until some cooking were done and my wife noticed that the cooktop did not give sufficient power, requiring more time and finished with undesirable results. We then made other enquiries and realized that it was the part that was incorrect. We put in the correct one and requested to be reimbursed the cost of the replacement which we believed is more than reasonable and yet they ignored our message completely.

Worst company ever. I had to cancel 24 hours before the appointment and they sent my bill (for no actual work done) to a collection agency. It's been 18 months and I'm still getting harassing emails.

They sent a technician to inspect and place an order for a replacement part same day. Unfortunately, that part was supposed to be installed last week and has not even arrived with them. The technician and quality manager keep missing deadlines and I have lost faith they will get the job done.

It’s a total scam

Worst customer service ever! DO NOT USE THEM. Technician came out and said he need 3 parts to repair fridge. I paid for parts and labour upfront. Took forever for technician to come back. Every time they would say they’re coming I would stay home and they never showed up. This happened at least 5-6 times. Zero respect for my time. When they finally came back they used one part and it still didn’t fix problem. I asked for refund for unused parts and to this day have not received a refund and fridge is still not working. The most frustrating people I’ve ever dealt with.

Appliance Repair Expert started out really good Once we had the part for our dishwasher the technician came back to install Apparently after he left it fell apart We went to store to look at a similar appliance and realized he installed the upper slider part upside down I have tried calling them over 20 times to come back and fix and am getting nowhere Their technician said on Friday he would let me know a time for next week and never called back I would definitely NOT recommend them

We called Appliance Repair Expert to repair a Bosch built-in fridge because the freezer was not cool, The repairmen said he could not find anything wrong with the fridge, he asked us to unplug the fridge for 24 hours and then plug back in, we followed his instruction but no improvement, we called him back, he said it is better to replace it with a new fridge. The fridge is 7 years old and cost $12,000. We asked another company to check it out, they found the fan was not working. It was replaced and works fine. I think the guy did not know what he is doing, the charge of $143 went to the drain. Very disappointed with this company.

Update: On 03/27/2026 the company representatives reached out, apologized for the inconvenience, and offered a full refund. I appreciate their willingness to take responsibility and make things right. It shows that the company is working to improve the quality of their service.

I would definitely consider using them again in the future if I need repair or diagnostic services, as I now feel confident that they will treat customers fairly and do their best to provide good service.

Original story:

Our dishwasher stopped sprinkling water during wash cycle. It would get water inside and drain it after. But dishes would stay dirty.

We called the company and scheduled the diagnostics. A technician arrived and went to washing machine first. Apparently, he thought that we had an issue with the washing machine. When he realized that we have a problem with the dishwasher, he took out his flashlight and spent around ten minutes looking inside it. He checked that the filters inside are not clogged (wow!). After that, he checked the brand, told us that Blomberg makes low quality appliances, and the problem is with the control board. I said that it is weird, because all other electronics/functions seem to work perfectly. He repeated that it is a main board and replacing it is going to be too expensive, so we should buy new dishwasher instead. He left after 15 minutes, charging us $145.77. I asked him to check for spare part anyway, to know the price. Later, he sent me a message saying there are no spare parts.

We started thinking about buying a new dishwasher, but I was still wondering, why all electronics work, if the main board is faulty. After some googling like a problem is with a circulation pump, not the control board. I decided to disassemble the dishwasher and check the pump myself. After 15 minutes of work I found out that the problem is indeed in a circulation pump - one of the transistors burnt out with a visible black trace.

I got the part number from the pump and started googling. The first result was the site selling the used part, which I ordered. It arrived, I installed it, and suddenly, our dishwasher works again.

And then it got worse. We thought that we are entitled for the refund, because their technician could not properly identify the root cause.

On 11th of September I’ve sent the story above to their email (info@ + their domain address) and requested a refund. Per their refund policy (check their website), they should make a refund. However, they have never replied. Then, I called them. They picked up. I complained about the situation and they said to write to (manager@ + their domain address) instead, which I did. Again, no answer. I’ve tried to call them again. No one would ever pick up my calls. I’ve tried calling them for hours. Then, I decided to call from my wife’s phone and they picked up on the first try. I complained that they don’t pick up calls from my original phone, they said that they don’t know anything about it. Then, I told them about the refund. They said that they see as if manager already marked this refund as completed and they will go to the accountant and manager to confirm it. They promised to call me again the same day. But they did not. Next day, I tried to call them again but now they won’t pick up phone calls from my or my wife’s phone. Moreover, I noticed that phones on their website constantly change, so I keep calling different numbers. So, next I called from my mom’s phone. They picked up right away. I complained again, said that I will file a consumer complaint and write appropriate reviews. They said that they understand and their manager will call us morning next day. Next day, no one called, so I decided to call them again. But, they would not pick up calls from any of the three phone numbers I used before. I had to call from my friend’s phone now and they picked up on the first try. I warned them that they operate in a strange manner. They said that their manager does not work on the weekend and he would call me Monday morning. Guess what: no one called me again.

I must revise my one star review. The company apologized and did refund my payment. Great service. I am impressed.

We reached out to them to fix our oven. The technician found the problem super fast. Told us there were 2 parts we needed to order that would be $800.

2 months later, there is no communication from them. We called them, they had changed their number again (5 different numbers since initial contact). They couldn’t even give us a status update.

I would not trust this company again. Beware.

They came to "fix" my fridge, which involved them scraping off ice from the back of the freezer. Told me to unplug the unit for 4-6 hrs then plug it back in. The fridge worked again for a day, then stopped working again. I called them multiple times and the guy that came to "fix" it the first time kept saying he would call back to schedule a time to come look at it. Worst repair company ever. Can't actually get through to any humans to talk to when trying to call the company main phone number. This company is 100% a scam, do NOT use them.

The guy showed up on time Thursday afternoon, but did not know any more about a dishwasher that I did. He left the unit half apart in the middle of the kitchen and said he would be back with a new discharge pump and not charge any more labor to put it in. He did no tests to determine that it would fix the issue. We paid him almost 300 bucks. I texted and asked for price and delivery of the part. Late Friday afternoon he responded that he did not know the price or delivery yet, and would get back to us Monday. On Monday at 5:30 pm, he reported that the part would be "about 200$ plus shipping". No mention of how much shipping would be nor when we could get it installed. He did nothing but leave a disassembled dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen.

Tech was in my basement for 5 minutes, he saw I had an old maytag washer said the brake is stuck and he can't fix it. He left without saying anything else. I had to call the next day to see if that was all he was doing and was informed that no parts are available so no more work just pay the bill. I'm warning you to stay away.

Charged $280 for less than a half hour of work. And that was after a supposed $30 'new customer' coupon. I say supposed because it didn't actually show up on the invoice other than as a fine print note, so who can really say. Charged $326 for a part that goes for $73 on Maytag.ca. Sure, the oven works now, but at the cost of all sense of decency, honesty, and fairness. Avoid this place.

Paid $ 144 for wrong diagnostics, we were told needed a new compressor for the freezer. The technician just scrolled through his phone to find out what may be wrong. After the weekend the freezer manufacturer send out their technician and just replaced a fan belt to fix the problem. Appliance repair will not reimburse or pick up the phone

I wanted to give negative stars if i could. They dont even deserve 1 star. In May 2023, I contacted appliance repair expert in Guelph for repairing my washing machine and dryer. An appointment was booked for diagnosing the problem (I don’t remember the exact date) at 9 am in the morning as I had to go out of my house by 10am for work. They said they will be there by 9am. I waited on the specified day till 10:30am. No one showed up. I even called them continuously, but no one answered. I got a call at 11am saying that they are coming. I told them that I have left the house and I waited for them for 1:30hr. There was no apology, and the person was very rude. he said, "do you don’t want us to come" and i said yes as I had already left the house. So, they did not come, and no service was provided. After few months, I got a call from collection agency saying that I owed money to this company. I TOLD HER THAT I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY THEM FOR THE PAYMENT OR SENT AN INVOICE. I explained the situation, the lady said that they have got similar response from other people also about this company. She said that she will close the file and I don’t have to pay anything. After that there was no correspondence. During this whole time the company did not even contact me once and did not even send me any invoice. In May 2024, I got an email from Dixon commercial (collection agecy) that they tried to contact me on several occasions and since I did not respond they are sending me this email. I replied and explained the whole situation to them. But they did not care about the explanation. I even called and left numerous voice mails but no response. On further pressing the issue, they sent me an invoice whihc was totally rubbish. I again explained them the situation, but they still did not care. I got an email again today saying that they will report me to the credit bureau if I don’t pay. When no service was given, when they did not keep the appointment time, how can they expect me to pay. This was outright extortion. SInce i did not want get in the mess i ended up paying. BUT BE CAREFUL. THEY WILL BILL AND THEN EXTORT MONEY THROUGH COLLECTION AGENCY EVEN IF THEY DONT SHOW UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT

Paid $144 for a diagnosis that didn’t diagnose the problem with my oven. Fortunately I didn’t waste another cent on this outfit. They do not seem to be a legitimate repair company.

This company. Booked an appointment for the following day. They said they would come between 12-4. Did not show up, no calls.

I called to have my dishwasher serviced. The technician came and gave e a quote, charged me half of the service saying he needed to order the part and would be back in a couple of days - have called the technician and the company several times and they just disconnect the call. I called back using a different phone and the fellow that answered said that their customer service department was just busy and they would call back. This has been going on for weeks. No call.
