Not sure what checks were carried out prior to my purchase, but day 1, the battery died - incorrect battery in the car and less than 30% power and I had to get roadside assistance out to start the car after being stranded in Basingstoke. 4 weeks later, warning lights on the dash due to a blocked diesel filter. These are, in my opinion, rudimentary checks. The incorrect diesel filter was then "supplied by Nissan" which could, of course, have been Anchor cars fault, but who knows. I have had 4 days of the utmost inconvenience, as I moved home on the 25/11 and without my car, this has been an unbelievably stressful experience. Once this matter is resolved, I hope never to liase with Anchor cars ever again.

I am sorry to hear you feel let down, we will of course explore what we could have done better and how this could be avoided next time.
I have taken the time to speak to the team and in particular your sales person Jack to understand your journey and can summarise my findings below.
The vehicle was purchased on the 16th October with 42,635 miles.
The customer left a message that evening reporting that the battery had failed and he had used his AA to recover the vehicle back to his home address.
On arrival into the office the following morning, the sales team immediately contacted the customer 9.00am 17th October, the vehicle was collected from the customers home address and the vehicle started immediately without the need to use a jump pack. We brought the vehicle back to site and none the less replaced the battery. The customer was advised and the car was ready by 10.30am on the 17th of October. We further agreed to drop the vehicle back on the customers drive, which was done by 4.30pm.
On Sunday 24th November with 43,449 miles the customer notified us that the vehicles Engine Management light had illuminated.
We advised we would be able to look at the vehicle immediately, when the workshop opened on Monday 25th November.
Investigation was completed & the vehicle was found to have a blocked DPF Pressure pipe & pressure sensor, which required parts to be ordered.
The incorrect parts arrived from the parts supplier on 26th November, and so a new order was placed with another supplier to ensure no further parts supply issues.
Now on the 28th of November the parts have arrived & are currently being fitted.
We are hoping to complete repairs imminently, and will contact the customer once tested.

Good sales, car delivered wit issues.
I recently bought a car from this company online and remotely, the sales person I dealt with was helpful through most of the process once we got going. Beginning of the process didn’t feel very helpful and wasn’t treat like a customer until deposit was taken. However he was informative about the process and costs within and paperwork being sent.
The problem was the actual car on delivery. They boasted about the care pack they sell and I paid for a premium version as I was picking up from dealership. Apparently an extensive pre check of the car is done. On delivery of the car the rear pads and discs were damaged which needed replacing so they were not checked before the car leaving the garage. However this was dealt swiftly by the dealership after I paid for the repair and claimed it back through them with approval of garage quote. Second issue was the windscreen washers didn’t work not even a drop of liquid would come out so again this pre check of the car clearly hadn’t been done as both issues would be clearly not working on pre delivery inspection. I was then advised to use my warranty to save me driving back to dealership to have fixed which I found annoying because the issue should have been caught before leaving the garage.
As much as I am enjoying the car I would be apprehensive of buying again and be wary of the care pack they offer which sounds good but with my issues what the car pack offers was clearly not fully completed to the letter.

Very good experience buying a car…
Very good experience buying a car remotely.
It was hard to find the correct Jeep model anywhere in Scotland so I called Anchor Cars and spoke to Aston and he was very helpful - he sent me a great video and explained everything and I ended up purchasing the vehicle and having it delivered today.
There was a small delay as they needed to source a new windscreen for the vehicle but we agreed a timescale and all went smoothly. They also refurbished the wheels and the vehicle looks great.
Delivery by Nick P. was also excellent and he was very helpful despite him having had a very long day already driving to Scotland, the handover was well explained and simple and then I dropped him off at the station for his trip back.
As I bought remotely I have a 14 day period to evaluate the car or obtain a refund but so far it appears to be exactly as described and I can find very little wrong with it aside from a couple of very small age-related marks, and the refurbished wheels look very nice too. Hopefully nothing will reveal itself over the forthcoming couple of weeks but I get the feeling that Aston and the Anchor Cars team will sort out any issues that arise.
Based on my experiences so far I would very much recommend them.

Telling a customer that a 9 year old…
Telling a customer that a 9 year old BMW with a faulty speaker that was reported on the day it was collected is expected because its 9 year's old and won't be fixed under warranty is utter garbage. It's not wear and tear nor is it expected, it's a fault, the car should never have left the facility with a faulty sound system which the shills checking no full well. As with pretty much every car company, they talk the talk but never walk the walk, utter shills. They force the £300 warranty on you, yes that's correct, you cannot by a car at screen price, they force their £300 'own company' warranty on you and then, as most warranty companies do, fail to delivery when called upon, Completely worthless. Not that a claim should ever have been made in this instance, the car should have been right before it left the forecourt.
I drive around in a beaten up 14 year old Astra, sound system is as good as new.
Not to mention the double chipped windscreen that was supposedly repaired but wasn't.
Save your stress, Buy elsewhere!
Maybe the Joyce's want to have a closer look at who's running this facility!
Obviously the Joyce's don't give a damn about customer service either so it comes from the top!
As soon as we identified the problem with the speaker on the way home after collection we notified the company, to suggest it should have been picked up pre collection is admittance it is faulty and thus should have been rectified either under warranty or not as the case may be.
Utter shysters, avoid at all costs!

We apply the highest prep standards to all of our vehicles, they are however in line with the age and mileage of the vehicle purchased.
In your instance, the vehicle purchased was over 9 years old and had carried out 100,000 miles. The audio speakers all worked, though 1 was quieter than the others. The vehicle was inspected by you prior to completing the purchase and there was the opportunity before completing to reject the vehicle had you wished.
