Having recently had a seriously bad experience with another dealerAnchor Cars have been a breath of fresh air.
Aston was helpful from the start, providing all that I needed when I asked and taking my or returning them as appropriate. I was exiting from bad deal with a complete clown show elsewhere in order to buy from Anchor so it took a bit of close work and collaboration. It is hard to buy a good second hand car - I haven’t done it for decades and I have little experience. After the last two months I’m now much wiser and I certainly have trust in Anchor Cars through my dealing with Aston.

To cap it all the delivery executive Grant was an absolute gentleman. Again helpful and patient.
If I ever need another car - I’d certainly be looking at Anchor again.

Poor service, enquired 2 days ago, told twice someone would get back to me and then when I followed up the third time because I hadn't heard anything, I was told it was already purchased. Not sure how best to show interest in a vehicle if noone responds to an enquiry?

Extremely disappointing experience. I had reserved a car just the day before, only to find out they sold it to someone else. The customer service was terrible (I spoke to Steve) — they took no responsibility and instead blamed me. Clearly not a trustworthy dealership. The numerous negative reviews speak for themselves—I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Great Experience, Great Selection of Cars, missed out on the car I wanted as I was too slow thinking about it, they then found me an identical car which I purchases straight away. Really good bunch of people.

Exceptional Service from Jeff – Anchor Cars via Motorway

I recently sold my car through Motorway, and Anchor Cars was the buyer. Jeff arrived promptly on the scheduled day and handled the vehicle collection with absolute professionalism.

Before starting, he clearly explained each step of the process, carried out the inspection smoothly, and later confirmed 100% condition to his office. He also gave helpful guidance on what to do next — including updating DVLA records and managing post-sale documentation.

Respectful, punctual, and efficient, Jeff made the experience seamless from start to finish. A real credit to Anchor Cars.

I purchased a Ford Focus ST (Diesel) from Anchor Cars in August last year, I purchased the car on 54,340 with full Ford service history and paid an additional £1,040.84 for their customer care pack and platinum care which includes a 36 month warranty. After 5 months of owning the car it broke down on the way home from work, after having the car recovered and inspected by my local garage they informed me that the car has suffered “catastrophic engine failure” and a new engine would be needed.

I then phoned Anchor cars and spoke to the salesman I bought the car from Julian, where he was very dismissive saying there’s nothing they can do and that it’s “wear and tear” on the vehicle that has caused the damage. Naturally being unhappy with this decision I asked to take this complaint up with the general manager (Andy Parmenter) who again was very quick to dismiss any liability and again simply had a “tough luck” attitude and reiterated the salesman’s claim of “wear and tear”, which I am no mechanic but I’m pretty sure a car with full service history shouldn’t be suffering from full catastrophic engine failure after 5 months and 6,513 miles after purchase and under the consumer rights act 2015 they’re obligated to prove the fault wasn’t present at the time of purchase as the fault occurred before 6months from the time of purchase and refuse to do anything about it.

The current situation is I have now been paying finance on a car that is completely knackered since January and Anchor Cars couldn’t care less, I have now got the ombudsman involved and trading standards have been notified.

I would avoid at all costs they’re very quick to take your money but soon as something goes wrong they don’t want to know and the attitude from the general manager and salesman was an absolute disgrace!

Nick P visited me today to collect an AUDI I'd sold to Anchor Cars through an online broker. Nick was punctual, courteous and friendly, and took the time to carefully explain to my wife and I the process of the collection and sale, which was much appreciated. Nick looked over the car, completed some paperwork and ensured that the sale money was in my account before he left. Overall my wife and I were really impressed with the simplicity, efficiency, clarity, and professionalism of Nick's visit, and on that basis we are happy to endorse Anchor Cars as excellent people to deal business with.

Went to look at a performance car they had for sale. Was allowed to look round it but not offered to start it or even test drive it. When asked about service history was invited into the office where we discussed the servicing that had been done and questions around a specific service that is usually done on a car that's done its current mileage - shall we say agree to disagree.
When asked about warranty was told that that came under the care package for 299 but also included 1/4 tank fuel, pre inspection etc and delivery to our home address.....where we could test drive it and if didn't like could arrange return.....followed by do you want to buy it.....40k car, no warranty unless i pay extra and they think im going to buy it without starting or driving it. Never experienced such an odd sales approach in my life.

Bought a Renault Trafic Passenger in late March, hadn't seen it, but was happy with everything in Sale process. Unfortunately had EML within 50 miles, let them know immediately, and they asked me to check a local garage for an understanding of the fault (EGR). Garage cleared the fault but it persisted. Anchor arranged pickup swiftly (I am not at all local), and recovered. Rod from Servicing has great communication throughout the entire process. EML Code suggest EGR fault, but EGR swop didn't resolve the code, all the wiring was checked, and then it seemed like the ECU was faulty. Anchor passed the vehicle onto Renault Dealership, who couldn't find a fault. Back to Anchor, back to me, but enroute EML came back on again, back up to Renault. EGR replaced, delivered back to me and within a minute of driving EML back on and EGR codes. Anchor picked through that vehicle for about 80 days trying to sort it out, and with then having a vehicle at fault and having read some of the more negative reviews I was a bit concerned I'd end up with a dud vehicle. I should not have been concerned. I flagged it back up with Anchor including their Directors, and had immediate reassurance. They accepted a return and refund of the vehicle, arranged collection, handled the finance (Which I had taken our through them fortunately), to give me full refund inc interest of payments made, and refunded the deposit. This all took less than a week. I don't doubt Rod had worked very hard to sort this vehicle out, sadly it's turned out to be one of those that Anchor likely took in good faith, and is simply a problem vehicle. Anchor has at all times conducted itself with dignity, and a decent moral code, despite the process and customer service being at significant cost to them aswell in terms of time and money. I would not hesitate to buy from then again, as they have proved to me that they are a top company, not only when things are going well, but also when they are not. Which to me is invaluable. Please pass my gratitude onto the entire team for their efforts, I hope that the vehicle does eventually get remedied, and can gain you some return of investment! Anthony

I recently purchased a BMW M Sport Gran Coupe with the stunning Coral Red leather interior from Anchor Cars and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish.

The car was exactly as advertised — immaculately presented, well-specced, and mechanically spot on. Julian made sure the car was prepped to a high standard and ready to drive away without a single worry. The Coral Red interior really makes the car stand out, and it’s obvious that attention was paid to the car’s condition and presentation.

Communication was great throughout, and Julian was happy to answer all questions promptly and honestly. All paperwork was sorted with no fuss, and everything felt organised and stress-free.

Since taking delivery, the 440i has been a joy to drive. It’s a well-balanced, powerful car and clearly one that’s been looked after — no surprises or issues.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Anchor Cars and Julian to anyone looking for a quality used performance vehicle. They’re clearly passionate about the cars they sell and the service they provide.

Recently sold a truck by Kane from Anchor and I have nothing but good things to say, going above and beyond to give me all the information I required when I couldn't make it down to view the vechile. Along with organising extra works to make sure I didn't felt let down as such, all for my reassurance. John who delivered it was also very polite and helpful when going through last steps of the portal. I am very happy with everything done in the lead up to vechile arriving, and what a beauty it is! I couldn't recommend Kane enough definitely gives you peace of mind when buying a used vechile. I will be using them going forward.
