About Us
Alloway Timber & Builders Merchants was founded in 1971 by Joe Alloway (senior). He started the business from the back garden of his parents’ house in Fulham and in 1973 he expanded by opening our Putney Branch, where we still trade from today.
Our Purpose
We offer an impressive range covering softwoods, MDF, hardwoods, skirtings, and architraves, to aggregates, blocks, bricks, and lintels. In essence, all the materials you need for your construction project from start to finish, delivered via our extensive fleet including crane lorries.

Great service Mitcham branch
As a regular trade customer i am happy with the personal attention i receive. Made to feel like my business is valued. Staff deal with me on a first name basis. Yard staff are helpful and friendly. Alloways Mitcham are a good branch and i pass several other building suppliers to get to them. I try and do all of my materials trade with this branch and due to the above great service I have left my previous building supplier. It should be mentioned that Wesley goes the extra mile.
