We had a great experience moving with main moving. They efficiently moved all of our things from our old to our new apartment and the estimate was what we ended up paying and not a cent more. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They were very conscious about the time and knew I only had them for three hours and they made the most of there time. Although they worked very fast, they made sure to take care of my furniture and even brought to my attention that many of my kitchen chairs need to have the hardware tightened to prevent damage in the future. I had a wonderful experience with the company and would use them again in a heart beat.

This was my second move with Alliance Van Lines and it was just as smooth and trouble-free as the first time. Both crews were kind, caring, careful, and fast! My latest move was completed earlier than expected, saving me a bit of money. Earl is the best. He follows through and makes sure everything goes just as planned. Gotta love a company who does exactly what they say they are going to do! If I ever move again, and that's doubtful, I will be calling Alliance Van Lines for sure!

I have had a terrible experience with Alliance Vans and can not discourage you from using them enough

Pickup:
- Movers showed up 6 hours late and had never moved anyone out of an apartment before -- took several hours for them to figure out how to fill out the paperwork, they did not bring the boxes I paid for and took a big chunk out of my wall (dispatch claimed the delay was because an earlier move went long -- learned from movers that there was no earlier move, nothing had been scheduled and they got a call 20 minutes before they showed up)

Delivery 1:
- Got a call with less than 24 hours notice, they tried to make me take half a dozen items that were not mine. After they rushed out I realized they had left me with someone else's mattress

Deliver 2:
Followed up for 5 WEEKS -- was repeatedly given bad information, and was not followed up with when promised (was told it would be 2-3 days 3 times with no delivery). The company was often unreachable and seemed to think this was not their issue to resolve.
Got a call with 4 hours notice that they would be there -- I was at work but my retired mother with health issues agreed to take the shipment at which point:
-- The mattress arrived and it had been taken out of thy hypoallergenic case I had it in and was in a dirty case.
-- Movers asked my mother to sit outside and watch the truck while they moved the mattress.
-- Movers refused to take the strangers mattress I had been left with (I have repeatedly stated that this needs removal -- this is not my mattress)
-- While my mother was waiting for them to "call their boss" they left without telling her to go to another move

Called consistently for the last three days to get this resolved and was told that they would not pay for disposal of the mattress (I am on a 4th floor walkup and live in a city where you need to pay for mattress disposal) and that they "can't deal with this anymore" and told me (for the millionth time) it would be 2-3 days for them to pick it up. I have spent countless hours on the phone with dispatch and have to take days off of work to still not have a resolution 6 weeks later.

UPDATE: it has been over 2 weeks since they last said they would pick up the strangers mattress they incorrectly delivered -- they never came and said they "could not deal with this anymore". I carried the mattress down four flights of stairs, arranged and paid for disposal myself.

Poor customer service! They never contact you about the time they are coming, even one day before moving day! The customer service is impatient to your questions. The worst customer service I have experienced ever.

I had an excellent moving experience with Alliance Van Lines for the second time. Both times were quick and easy. From making the appointment with Ashley over the phone to dealing with Kenny who showed up at my front door on moving day. The prices are good, movers utilize their timing well and all your stuff reaches its final destination in the same condition it left, what more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough great things about Alliance Van Lines. From my first email till they left my apartment it was a smooth process. The guys were hard working, personable, and just amazing. They finished my move from a full storage unit to my new apartment in no time at all. Carl and his 2 partners made this final move for me a breeze. Use them for your next move. You will not be sorry.

I booked Alliance Van Lines due to all the great things I have heard about this moving company. I used them to move things around. They were speedy and professional and knocked it out of the park. Very high praise and I am a very detail-oriented type of guy, so you know they did it just right. I had used them to pack and unpack so it was a two day work. Not one complaint from these guys, thumbs up.

Alliance Van Lines may not be the most popular but they are definitely the best trust me. We had a challenging move, lots of real wood furniture, big items, and even a treadmill. We moved into a house with steep stairs. The guys that came were not only professional, kind, and hardworking, but they were also fast and mindful of the hours. They are careful, insured, and reliable. I am so glad we went with Alliance Van Lines for our move!

Alliance Van Lines is excellent. Chris and his three-man team were professional, punctual, courteous, and fast. Nothing was damaged in the move. I moved out of a second-story apartment and was moving into a sixth floor condo, and also some items to a storage facility. The quote was comprehensive and covered everything and what I paid in the end so no surprises there. I highly recommend anyone that is looking to move.

STAY AWAY - Contacted Alliance Van Lines for a relocation NYC to Jacksonville Florida for a company relocation. The process has been an absolute nightmare from the start. After receiving a binding estimate, they contracted my move out to Fast Forward moving in NJ. My goods were picked up on June 24th (the movers were late and didn't have an adequate number of supplies/boxes - they even left pizza boxes for my wife to clean up). After loading the truck - they attempted to extort an additional $1500 from me (after their "discount") claiming excessive inventory. After making the driver review the inventory list, we were well below in most areas (boxes etc.) and they were counting curtain rods as excessive. This is actually a federal regulation violation as any change in the estimate has to be done prior to truck load. This literally was a scam that I'm sure is pulled on many consumers - I paid $150 after arguing for 1.5 hours. I'll be reporting both the broker and mover to the DOT and following up with the attorney generals on that point. It's now July 8th and I still haven't received a confirmed delivery date and they have told me twice over 2 weeks that the truck has been loaded and that my goods would be leaving NJ. A simple search on the DOT website shows that the moving company with a fleet of one yes a single truck has more than 50 complaints in 2 years. The majority of those complaints are deceptive business practices, damaged goods, pickup/delivery issues, charge disputes and there were even 3 WHISTLEBLOWER complaints. What type of reputable moving company or broker that has any due diligence process would work with a moving company with that reputation? Alliance will.... including image from the moving company they paired me up with. Avoid at all costs.. It has been a horrible experience and they haven't been keeping me informed.

I can't say enough about the excellent service I received from Chris and Tony. They arrived on time ready to get to work and were pleasant and very professional. I was really impressed with how quickly they completed the move and yet still handled my belongings with precision and care. Hopefully I won't be moving again for awhile but when I do I'll definitely call Alliance Van Lines! Thanks guys

Should have seen the warning signs from the start. Shawn K was extremely nice during the inventory process over the phone and persistent at that. He said he was a mover and NOT a broker and thanked me for my service. Asked about my time in the military and said he takes care of veterans and will throw in some discounts. When it came time to make the down payment, that’s when I should have known. Cash only. But, Shawn has an alternative. He sent me a link to handle it by check. Chase Bank called IMMEDIATELY to ask and verify if the transaction was legit. The bank must have known they are a shady establishment.

Once Alliance Van Lines has your down payment, that’s it. It’s pretty much theirs. No one answers the phone, you’re out on hold for extended periods of time, and you are bounced around from one person to the next. Customer service is the worst and will only take your phone number or booking number, then put you on hold as soon as they can. They will just literally hang up on you and put you on hold. In fact, they hung up on me after waiting on hold for 20-30 minutes. You can hear people laughing in the background.

There is no supervisor you can speak too, no one gives out real names, no email addresses, and no one shares their last name. No direct extensions, and no one returns emails.

They waited until inside of their 7 day window (to keep your deposit) to finally have Quality call you to verify your inventory. Again, quality doesn’t give out their full name or email address, or direct contact info. Alicia J was the “quality” contact and when I shared with her my experience, she didn’t care. She knew my $2000+ deposit was locked in. I kept asking when the movers would arrive and what time would they be at my residence. She didn’t know, yet, she’s quality. I needed to book insurance and no one at Alliance Van Lines knew it could/would answer my numerous emails.

Finally, Alicia J emailed and told me it would be Unique Van Lines. After doing research on Unique Van Lines, it was apparent this was a total scam and I’ve been taken advantage of.

Unique Van Lines is a complete disaster and has 1 useable truck. Yes, 1 useable truck with horrible reviews at that. Check Y elp to verify for yourself.

It wasn’t until I sent Alicia J an email saying I would cancel that Isabella L called me. She was very rude, disrespectful, and angry that I decided or wanted to cancel. Apparently, she’s the Office Manager I’ve been waiting for weeks to talk too. She tried to manipulate and mix words with me, but by this point, I knew and realized I was scammed. She tried to make it my fault that I was considering canceling the move. Putting words in my mouth, and pointing the finger towards me. Unreal.

Warning Signs
- Initially told they were movers and not a broker.
- Told they were affiliated with Allied Van Lines
- Lots of discounts to lower price in order to obtain the sale. USAA, veterans, etc.
- No direct contact info
- No use of last names
- Horrible customer service
- Waits until within 7 day window to inform you that they’ve outsourced your info to a horrible moving company. Their policy is you can not cancel within 7 business days.
- 100’s of fake reviews online

It’s a total shame they take advantage of Veterans hard earned money. My advice to anyone reading this is to stay away from this company. They will change their name to another Van Lines if the negative reviews continue. Do yourself s favor and bypass all of the fake reviews. If you notice, the fake reviews make it appear that Alliance Van Lines is a moving company, when in fact, they are a broker that outsources to lower end Van Lines.

It should be illegal that this type of practice is even allowed in our country, let alone to disabled veterans who served their country.
Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home

I can't complain at all about my move. The move was fast, super efficient, and all my items were properly protected. Plus, the movers were incredibly pleasant and polite. The process was seamless. I wouldn't hire anyone else.

I have moved several time and this was probably one of the worst moving experience. Do not be fooled by their high ratings and cheap cost as their service seems to have declined and you will be hit will also sorts of adders during the time of your move. There are four reasons why I have given them such a low rating:

1. Cost of the move: The sales agent quoted me a really good price and they had really great reviews. Therefore, I decided to go with these guys. Little did I know that I would be charged extra during the time of the move. Make sure you clarify costs related to following:
- Packaging: they will do the packing, but will charge you for packing material like tape, bubble wrap and such. This was not really specified when I was talking to the sales agent
- Long carry: they will charge you $75 or more if the distance from your door to the truck is more than 75ft. if you are moving apartments, you will most likely end up paying this fee
- Tips: account for this on top of what you have been quoted

2. Delivery time: The team did not provide a clear timeline on when they will show up. My delivery date got moved several time and I had to follow-up with them multiple time before I could get a straight answer from them.

3. Moving team: The team that packs your equipment and the team that delivers your equipment is not the same. Therefore, make sure the team that is packing your stuff is packing things correctly and putting things in the right place. They lost some screws for my bed and I had to pay extra money to the team delivering my furniture to make sure things get assembled properly.

4. Customer service - the sales guys will be super nice to you when they are trying to get your business. However, they were super unresponsive once they had the possession of my furniture.

When I hired Alliance Van Lines last month, I also had to use their storage facilities to store about half of my household items. I am very happy with the standards the company has set in the moving and storage industry.

The agents on the phone seemed professional and very friendly. The price they gave for a cross-country move was amazing (too good to be true). I read the contract details, and it was standard language for a moving Broker; for example, they can cancel your move if they're unable to find a truck and refund you in full (leaving you stuck without a move).

That language only scared me because the company has no reviews older than 6 months, and all the reviews seem fake (confirmed by Yelp, showing them as "not recommended" and Google, which removed their business page. Also see their BBB page, which shows them as being in business for 14 years, but with reviews only since January 2019.)

I had paid a deposit which the contract showed as fully refundable with enough notice. I gave notice, and had to endure multiple high pressure sales calls before getting the refund 9 business days later (despite the contract saying 7 business days).

Be cautious with this company.

**Update 6/11/2019** I was contacted by Jennifer from Alliance Van Lines offering me $100 in order to remove this same review from Yelp. I can't be bought (well, maybe for $1 million...)

My wife and I needed an assurance that our antique furniture would be moved safely. Alliance Van Lines did an excellent job moving us and their staff was the friendliest and most professional we have ever used. I recommend them highly.

Moving stuff over a long distance without incurring some breakages or losses is never easy. Alliance Van Lines is one of the few dependable moving companies that I have come to completely trust.

Alliance Van Lines is simply the best there in terms of packing, moving and unpacking of household stuff. I am grateful for the great services they offered me and my family last week.
