I recently travelled with Air India from Kuwait (KWI) to Bangalore (BLR).

At Kuwait Airport, I was charged ₹2,962 (10.58 KWD) as excess baggage fee, and was told it would be refunded at the Air India counter in India. However, on arrival at Goa Airport (GOX), no refund was processed despite repeated inquiries.
To make matters worse:
Goa customs removed a power bank from my baggage and confiscated a duty-free whiskey bottle without any legal explanation or receipt.
My baggage was delayed and only delivered a day later at Bangalore Airport (BLR).
Upon receiving my bag, I found multiple items missing including chocolates, charging cables, creams, and more.
This experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful. I demand:
A refund of ₹2,962 for the excess baggage fee.
Compensation for the missing items and the inconvenience caused due to the baggage delay and mismanagement.
I have attached payment proof and am waiting for a proper resolution. If Air India fails to respond promptly or take responsibility, I will be left with no option but to pursue legal action and escalate the matter through consumer forums.
I urge Air India to take this complaint seriously and provide a resolution at the earliest.

I have never experienced such heartless, unprofessional, and downright disgraceful behavior from an airline as I have with Air India. Due to a serious medical emergency involving my father’s health, I reached out to them multiple times to request a refund for a ticket that, under any humane policy, should have been refunded without question.
Despite explaining the situation clearly and repeatedly, they showed zero compassion or understanding. Not only did they refuse to offer any refund, but they also had the audacity to close the ticket with a message stating that if I write back, they will not read or respond. That kind of dismissive and arrogant attitude is simply inexcusable—especially from a national carrier that claims to uphold Indian values of empathy and respect.
Air India clearly does not care about its customers, nor does it have any flexibility or human decency in times of crisis. I will never fly with them again, and I urge others to seriously reconsider before booking with an airline that treats people as nothing more than a booking reference.
Shame on Air india.

I had the worst experience with this Airlines. No matter what happens please dont waste your moneyon this airlines at least. They have the worst service. I booked a ticket with them and my ticket was on 22nd March and the departure time was 21.05pm and I reached the airport by 7:45. I went to the lane for the check in baggage, ohh also I already did my web check in prior 2 days to the date of depaturture and they did not let me in saying the counters are closed. I was single lady travelling and these ppl surely do not care about losing customers and have the worst customer support service. All they know is , we cant do anything. These hypocrites, allowed a man whop had more luggage than me to go inside saying he had web check in earlier, I did the same and had less luggage than the man infront of me and they did not let me go. Asked me to reschedule my flight for next day and they were asking 3k for the rescheduling process. I paid more than 4k earlier for my ticket and I asked for refund but they did not provide me any not even half of it, please dont book with these ppl. Go for a more expensive price or airline but dont waste your money on this airlines coz it will only lead you to disapointment and waste of your hard earned money. There service is too slow and they do not know anything about their own airlines how it works. I was at the check in counter, I spoke to 2 supervisors and they informed that I did not show up only, such liars . I really dont understand for how people still book with them despite majority of Negative reviews.. Extremely Disappointed with Air India Express – Worst Airline Experience!
I had a terrible experience with Air India Express due to their sheer negligence. My baggage was missed during my trip, and the airline showed absolutely no responsibility in addressing the issue. Despite multiple attempts to reach them via calls and emails, there was no proper response from their end.
After three days of frustration and conflicting reasons from different airports, they finally located my baggage. However, instead of delivering it, I was forced to collect it from Bangalore airport while returning from my trip. Their lack of coordination, accountability, and customer service is shocking.
Air India Express clearly does not understand or care about the plight of its passengers. The level of carelessness and mismanagement is unacceptable. I would strongly advise travelers to think twice before choosing this airline. Worst experience ever!
High-handed treatment
Half an hour after checking in at Goa GOI I was recalled to the check in hall to find that the combination lock on my suitcase had been ripped off, removing 4 zip fasteners and breaking another. The suitcase was now completely open and had to be wrapped. My complaint to airindiaexpress, with photographic evidence of the damage, resulted in a cursory dismissal claim of "over-packing" with no evidence whatsoever. It is not the cost of the damage that upsets me, it is the rudeness and high-handedness with which my modest claim was treated. Customers should not be blamed for failures in the handling of their luggage.
Unacceptable Customer Service and False Excuses for Flight Delays
I am utterly disappointed with Air India Express regarding the 32-hour delay of my wife and 3-year-old child’s flight from Gatwick to Cochin. Initially, the delay was communicated as a result of technical issues, but when I pursued compensation, the airline shifted blame to “bad weather conditions”—a baseless and dishonest excuse.
Let me make this clear: there were no extraordinary weather conditions at Gatwick or on the flight path at the time of the delay. Air India Express is using this excuse to avoid their legal obligation under EU261/2004 regulations, which mandate compensation for delays caused by controllable issues like technical faults.
This delay caused immense stress and inconvenience for my family, particularly for a 3-year-old child who had to endure this ordeal. The lack of transparency, integrity, and empathy from Air India Express is shocking and unacceptable.
Instead of owning up to their mistake and compensating passengers for their losses, the airline has decided to wash their hands of the issue with fabricated excuses. This level of service is not just unprofessional—it’s disgraceful.
I strongly urge anyone considering flying with Air India Express to think twice. If you do face any delays or disruptions, prepare for the airline to deny responsibility and avoid compensating you at all costs.
I am escalating this matter to the relevant aviation authorities and will ensure that this unprofessional behavior is made known to as many people as possible.
This is a fraudulent company
This is a fraudulent company. I am a US-based businessman, and I got their highest (business class??) ticket for a domestic flight in India, with its substantial price tag, about 3 months before the actual flight date. About 6 weeks before the flight, they sent me a text message saying, "your seat has been cancelled". There was no other info... no email, no additional texts or anything that a different seat has been assigned.
When I put in my reservation information on their website, it showed that the ticket is confirmed, but the assigned seat number has disappeared. When I tried to assign the seat myself, it asked for additional money. Note that I had already paid for seat assignment!
They have a dysfunctional chatbot with minimal capabilities, and their customer service numbers are defunct (I stayed on line for about 15-20 minutes, nobody took the call). Clearly, they do not have 24x7 customer service, as their website fraudulently claim.
In the end, I gave up and cancelled my ticket. They charged about $50 cancellation fee, although I believe I had a refundable ticket.
If this was in the US, I would have sued the airlines. But then again, no US carrier would do any of these: (i) sell a ticket and then cancel the seat without providing alternatives, (ii) not let the customer cancel free of charge when the airlines has changed the itinerary, (iii) not respond to customer service calls, (iv) make wrong claims on their ticket or their website, (v) refuse to honor their contract of carriage.
I had bought the AIX ticket (instead of Indigo or some other airlines) just because flight time was convenient. However, after this experience, I will avoid Air India and Air India Express as much as possible. Unlike many others, I have always had Ok (or even nice) experience with Air India when it was a government airline. Didn't know that Tatas are into fraud these days.... stupidly I expected better of them.

I received a message to say the my request to change my flight in Air India Express from Kochi to New Delhi I5 550 departing 21 August as been changed.
I did not make such a request.
Then I am told that the new flight is scheduled for the next day, departing at 1.10am arriving at 4.15am!
This change is completely unacceptable, and an abuse if customer care. Not only is the flight on another day entirely, but the flight timings are unmanageable and unacceptable.
As a customer, I have been left with no choice but to accept, or cancel and rebook with another airline at significant additional cost to me. There should be compensation for such customer abuses, and s fine against the behaviour of Air India Express.

I write this review, to alert those who travel to India, using Airindia and Air India Express, I bought a flight Goa Bangalore connection to Singapore, and again change to Phnom Phem Cambodia upon arrival at Goa airport, at the time of boarding, they told me to stand to one side, because they saw at the scan in the hold baggage, that there were two lighters inside, so a staff member told me to follow him that we had to go to security where they were loading the baggage for open the suitcase and remove the two lighters, at that point the person in charge did not know where exactly the baggage security base was located, and wasted a lot of time on the phone trying to figure out where it was, when we finally found the office after having passed several security check up, they asked me to open the suitcase, and look for the lighter, when I found it, they put the suitcase back in the scan, and told me that there was another lighter, search and search, for over twenty minutes, no it was found, at that point they put the suitcase in the scan again, and they told me that there wasn't a second lighter, but it was only one, at that point they told me that my flight had left, I quickly went to check in, explaining what happened, and they told me that the best thing was to buy another ticket to Bangalore, because I arrived an hour and a half early, in time to connect with the other flight to Singapore, I told the company agents that having missed the security spent too much time looking for the second lighter that wasn't there, and therefore causing me to miss the flight, the airline should have at least let me take the next flight as a compliment, or at least with a reduction in the ticket, instead I they said I had to do another one at my expense, after by another ticket to bangalore departing 6 pm and arriving in Bangalore at 9 pm, it was good time for me to manage to board on my connect flight to singapore, but how did I get on the plane, another drunk passenger caused a delay in departure of an hour, so upon my arrival in Bangalore I once again had to buy another ticket, now much more expensive, because it is international, finding a lot of negligence and indifference on the part of the staff, only at the last moment did another Air India agent help me find a ticket with another company, because there were no other immediate flights with Air India, so after having missed the three flights, lost money, I had to buy back other tickets, after having spent a day running up and down two airports, all this due to the carelessness and ignorance in helping one of their passengers, in difficulty, despite my complaints, both Air India and India Express, they wash their hands, refusing even a minimum refund,
