As a service provider working in an intensive care unit
As a service provider working in a critical care setting, I am hugely disappointed that the patient I was treating did not get the full benefit of nutritional intervention whilst ventilated. As much as I understand the difference between a policy and a medical aid, I am shocked that medical nutrition therapy does not get the attention it deserves. It should be stated in the policies that patients might have to pay for medical nutrition if they are ventilated and there are no other options of feeding available. As service providers it would be unethical and inhumane to withdraw feeds because the policy reached a limit. This has to be taken more seriously by all medical insurance policies, and the above matter about critical illness nutrition should be written in clear terms in the policy.

The Affinity Health team was so helpful and efficient in getting authorisations for casualty and emergency visits. I have three boys, two sporty ones so we've had many injuries in a few months but they authorise each visit without hassle. Even recently when my baby was ill, all was sorted quickly
