help button not that great
I think Afficient is a decent platform and that i have learned a lot from it, but a lot of times i have to dig into the internet to find out how to do a problem because the help button doesn't help. For the same type of problem, it would give different processes and doesn't explain how it got to the answer that well. Almost like seeing a whale is fat and then suddenly you say it has parasites. They don't directly connect, which makes it difficult

kind of drives me crazy
i was doing afficient math and it seems that they don't explain stuff clearly enough. Plus once i got an answer wrong, i dropped from a percent of 289 to 112.

I see that all of the one star reviews are by students.... I do afficient math. It can be challenging at times, and the demos can be hard to understand, but that's why there's these nice tutors! If I'm struggling a lot, then I just hop into a zoom meeting. I don't think anyone that gave one star actually uses the zoom meetings. You're not just paying $150 a month for the website, but you're also paying for the tutors. Math class at school is so much easier, and I can learn the material in advance! Would recommend! I really love math!

My child was 4 years behind in English and 2 years behind in math and got caught up
We started on Afficient just before the pandemic lockdown. My son was starting 6th grade but tested at 2nd grade level in English (which we expected) and 4th grade in math. Afficient got him caught up in both subjects; he's now in high school and still doing Afficient, ahead of his grade level in math and just a bit behind in English (reading comprehension and vocabulary have always been difficult for him).
There are occasional errors and glitches, which are annoying. I have reported errors in the English lessons, which get acknowledged but not fixed as far as we can tell. I have found punctuation errors, grammar errors, definition errors, and mismatched answers. The math questions have a button for reporting an error, which is useful. The English questions don't; you have to send an email.
For a student to get the most out of Afficient, it is helpful to attend the live tutoring sessions, You aren't just paying for the software, you're paying for a live instructor too. I suspect many of the negative reviews here don't account for that.

Trash and sucks
Whenever i get a question right at the last 1 percent of the afficiency of algebra 2, it barleys give me a point. Just 0.01. While getting all 6 correct gives me only like 0.04. Where an single incorrect drops me 0.15 percent. And even if I get the rest correct, it still drops me 0.1. And some questions mark me wrong right off the bat when I just started it. And my mom pesters me to get the full and max score where it is not even helping me, and you said it had ai to help you.

Afficient is trash!!!!!!! It sucks As*
This website sucks because it is genuinely impossible to pass division to the power of ten. There is some sort of stupid glitch where even if you entered the right things you get it wrong. And, when I straight up copied the help characters, it still gets it wrong. Lastly, it drastically decreases your self esteem. It makes kids thinking they are bad at math. Also, it makes kids hate math. I would not recommend any of you to try this website for any reason

Don't get Afficient
This sucks. My percentage goes down by like 30% each time I get an answer wrong while only giving me like 5% when I get a question right. Also, a lot of the instructions are really weird and don't make sense. It's also a pretty expensive program.

Hi Bella! When you make a mistake in the Afficiency session, you tend to lose some points. Your goal should be to avoid making unnecessary mistakes so that your accuracy can improve. If yur accuracy improves, your score improves and you get excellent grades. If you are unable to understand a concept, we have Supervised sessions managed by teachers who could help. We have online Q&A sessions that you could join and get help. If you are student at a local learning center, the help is there 6 days a week. I rated Afficient math 2 stars because…
I rated Afficient math 2 stars because first of all, the demos were bad at explaining because sometimes they say an equation equals a number without explaining how they got to that number. As a result, I did not do that well in Proficiency or Afficiency. Also, in Afficiency I got 1 question wrong, but I changed it to right quickly, and it made me go down a lot. That's what happened to me when I went down 1.0 percent which is actually going down quite a lot in Afficiency. So, based on my recent experiences, I firmly believe that Afficient Math isn't teaching us to their full potential and that many changes could be useful, especially in the demos for the different skills.
