What is the Access Card? The physical card acts as a photo ID that can be used to easily communicate your access requirements to events and venues, so that the venues can provide accessibility to the needs of their visitors. It also works online with other platforms like ticketing systems, to unlock the access facilities you need. The card shows a photo ID and translates a persons disability or impairment into symbols, effectively highlighting the barriers they face and the reasonable adjustments they might need. The Access Card app provides you with a personalised directory of venues, with first-class accessibility information to help you plan your trips.

Fantastic service
Initially I thought i was going to be denied an access card as they wanted some more information, but after speaking to someone over email we manage to sort this out. I then paid extra to get my access card on next day delivery. Really happy with the process and the outcome as this will really make my life alot easier, at such awful time. Thank you

i applied for an access card for my very disabled daughter back in april, here we are in August and still waiting for it, can't belive i need one when its obvious she is very disabled and can not do anything for her self, she needs total care, that said she is bright and understands every thing, i sent many emails tried calling them but after 45 minutes of being on hold i had to give up. i had to sent very personal information and paid over the phone for the card, i am beginning to to think its all a scam, no one gets back t you , for something that is meant to help disabled i have found it all very stressful, and worried in case someone now has my daughters personal information. avoid, avoid
Great
Great experience! Good to have something that clearly states needs for when we go places
Really straightforward easy process
Really straightforward easy process, had difficulty attaching supporting documents but was able to in an email, friendly staff, quick response.
Absolutely disgusting customer service
Absolutely disgusting customer service, I applied for an access card for my son on the 9th of June they emailed me on the 12th of June asking why I wanted a plus one on his card I explained and straight away, since then I have been completely ignored and still haven't received his card, I will be going through my bank for a refund. Avoid this company at all costs
Gatekeepers
Absolutely bizarre. Applied for my daughter (under 16) as when she’s invited to birthday parties etc that are drop and go I have to stay as she won’t stay anywhere without me due to her anxiety / autism. They kept saying under 16s are expected to be accompanied by an adult? Couldn’t seem to get their head around the fact that when it’s a SPECIFIC adult it’s a different thing. Almost insinuating I’m trying to go to the trampoline park for some kid from her classes birthday for my own personal enjoyment, when other parents can just drop and go and leave with the birthday child’s parents. It’s embarrassing having to get out paperwork etc about why I’m staying so thought this card could be a good solution.
I actually think they’re very dismissive of the needs of under 16s.
Anyways, they are incredibly slow to reply to emails, got one today after a few weeks asking for even more info (despite already telling them my daughters needs, sending diagnostic reports etc) so I’ve just asked them to cancel it. The other bits would have been useful but I refuse to give money to an ableist company. They hide behind the fact that their staff have disabilities too but you can have a disability and still be ableist. Probably take another few weeks to get a reply to my refund request.
It’s insulting that they insinuate on their website that people would be using this as a 2 for 1? On family days I pay for my daughter and would continue to. I wanted the card for when I’m attending something purely due to her being unable to access things with her peers without significant support.
I’ll just carry her DLA letter etc around and plead my case with venues when appropriate.
Looking on here, and Reddit, this seems to be a wider issue that affects people of all ages. They seem especially resistant to giving a +1 to be people with invisible or neurodevelopment conditions.
I’m genuinely upset with some of the things I have read and my experience is minor in comparison. They need investigating.
Terrible communication
While we are yet to receive our card I thought it mught be helpful for people to know to allow much longer than the 5- working days they say. We waited 6 days for an initial response asking for a bit more info which I responded to immediately. Since then it has been several weeks with no communication despite me sending 2 urgent emails. We are now one day before the event we needed the card for and have has to make alternative arrangements. I understand that the staff are providing a very kind service and so this is not a complaint against them. More of a heads up to lower your expectations of turn around time.
Extremely disappointing experience…
Extremely disappointing experience trying to avail of this service.Despite providing comprehensive responses on the for and a very detailed letter from a consultant detailing the varies impacts leading to a complex disability, there was an horrendously ableist response to the disability needs I highlighted. No response to querying this and event in the end was unable to be accessed.
This scheme is not fit for purpose and is discriminatory.

Had an access card for years and was so easy before nimbus took over . Sent all my info off and after 10 days of hearing nothing , I contacted them to say the info submitted was blurry and couldn’t be used . If they had corresponded I would of course sent it straight away . Communication with them is very difficult and ringing them is impossible , just do not answer the phone . Not great I’m afraid and is so difficult to do now .
Really poor customer service
Really poor.
No customer service.
Just held on the phone for 32 minutes to cut me off.
I have no clue where my application is up to and no way of contacting them.
I have emailed, sent back up information which was requested and got no response.
Paid £15 for nothing so far!
Awful no customer service/no response
Awful experience with them. They do not respond to emails, even urgent ones, you can phone up and they never answer the phone, they make you wait 30 mins then cut you off every time. Iv sent them several emails and called around 5 times over 8 days. Customer service seems to be non existent.

Incredible service from start to finish. Simple form to fill out. I absolutely agree with the need for evidence as it ensures only the people that actually need it, receive it. Staff have been exceptionally helpful and my access card was provided within just 1 1/2 days! Responses were rapid and I couldn’t be more happy with the service. Thank you!
Evidence Accepted Everywhere... Except Here
I only contacted Nimbus to make two small amendments to an existing Access Card following a deed poll and a new medical need. Instead, I was required to complete what was effectively a brand-new application and provide an extraordinary amount of medical evidence. In my experience, I had to submit more information than I did when applying for Adult Disability Payment through Social Security Scotland.
Throughout the process, every response I received appeared to be a scripted template rather than a genuine response to the questions I had asked. My emails raised specific concerns about the assessment process and requested clarification, but none of those questions were answered.
Nimbus then asked me to arrange for my healthcare professionals to contact them directly. I refused to do this and explained that I would not be asking NHS clinicians to spend their time emailing a private organisation when I had already provided extensive medical evidence. I asked Nimbus to make whatever decision they considered appropriate based on the information already supplied. I received no acknowledgement of that position, no response to my concerns, and no explanation of what had been approved or refused. The very next email simply stated that Nimbus now had everything they needed and asked me to pay the £15 fee.
My experience was of a process that was unnecessarily bureaucratic, lacking in transparency and heavily reliant on template responses rather than meaningful communication. For an organisation that many disabled people rely on to access events, I expected a much more proportionate, transparent and customer-focused service.

SCAMMERS????
Applied for, and paid in full for an access card for my disabled husband on 11/05/26. Follow up emails sent on 14/06/26 and 26/06/26 - no response to either email and still no Access Card. Incredibly difficult to get though on the phone - in fact it’s impossible.
Now I’m thinking this company is a total scam.
No reply to my emails - No Access Card - No refund - just a very shoddy system in place.

Appalling
Absolutely appalling. Applied for a card for someone with the worst psychiatric condition known to man (along with anxiety disorder) and was rejected. We were asked to send in information we had already sent over. Our email response was left unanswered. If you have a severe mental health condition, don't bother applying. This organisation seems devoid of understanding, compassion and even plain old politeness. Disability discrimination at its peak.
excellent service
excellent service, very efficient.
Have given our patient's parents/carers peace of mind at a time which is already stressful, worrying about diabetes management during a fun day out
