This is a Scam! Avoid! I booked a car with ACARENT RENT A CAR via Carjet. I paid for the insurance and had a small amount left to pay when I picked up the car. I needed a credit card to put a holding deposit. When I presented my card, the transaction didn’t go through, giving an error code 21. I presented a second credit card that gave the same error. The employee at the counter was playing along even called the bank that supplied the card machine to confirm that the machine is working properly. I even called my bank to confirm that my card is working. All along the employee was trying to get me to pay for an insurance with their company, which would mean that I didn’t need as big a deposit. When I refused, he said there was another way, just to rent directly from them not via carjet. I refused again. By this time I sensed there was something wrong and I just left. When I got home I checked the error code and 21 and it said it was for unblocking deposit on card. So the guys wasn’t even trying to block the deposit. He was playing me all along. Please save yourself the headache and AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!

Il problema é che questi sono brocker e non agenzie di noleggio, quindi anche se si prendono tutte le possibili precauzioni per non trovarsi a discutere, in caso di danno, prima bisogna rifondere di tasca propria il danno all´agenzia che effettivamente rilascia l mezzo, poi bisogna richiedere il rimborso alla societá assicurativa del brocker. Stesso dicasi per VIP Cars. Il problema reale é che quando si prenotano le auto via internet, tutte queste belle cose non le trovi scritte. A me é andata piú che bene, questa volta, ma la prossima staró ben attenta a chi sta dietro gli annunci di rent a car. Meglio telefonare ai referenti in aeroporto per verificare quali sono le agenzie di noleggio effettive.

Plane was delayed. They had cancelled our reservation as we were 10 minutes past their 1 hour deadline (that isn’t written anywhere). Refused to give us a car. Said we could book another at a much higher price.

Apparently their system automatically cancels reservations and there is nothing they can do. They said it happens all the time. No-one seemed to care.

Update - Acarent have now tried to claim that this review is not legitimate and have it taken down. I am having to provide proof to Trustpilot to keep this up. Be aware, a lot more negative reviews have likely been removed by them. Their rating was previously 2.5 out of 5 and has suddenly jumped up!

Zest has very high scores, ACA Rent does not, yet our rental, whilst booked via Zest, was ultimately facilitated by ACA Rent / Loran Italia and it was very good. Does it make a big difference when Zest are involved? We don't know, but we couldn't fault this rental. The car had only 21,000km on the clock and was in good condition, and the staff were great, particularly the lady who stayed especially late after our flight was delayed - thank you!

We booked a 9-seater, which was in very bad condition. Air con isn't in very good condition. The reverse gear wasn't able to put it properly. The car was giving engine warning lights at a time. Not safe to hire from this company. Even though we asked them to change the van, they refused to do so. In 35*C without AC we have struggled a lot. Never book again from this company.

The car has a lot of dammage!!

The child seat they have are all broken dirthy neasty, nothing safe for my child. And we pay a lot for it. For that price they can buy new ones. with these ones you can not drive safe with youre child

Return was fast, no plroblems.

Pessima compagnia. Aereo arrivato in ritardo su Catania e prenotazione cancellata dopo 59 minuti. Condizioni contrattuali previste, ma molta arroganza dell'operatore e scarso interesse a risolvere il problema di 12 persone (bambini comprese) rimasti a piedi. Condizioni assurde e qualità scarsa. Non consigliato

Impossible da contattare telefonicamente, a qualsiasi ora della giornata, assistenza al cliente, zero.

Je voulais partager notre expérience avec ce loueur de voiture à Comiso. Tout d’abord, il ne se trouve pas à l’aéroport et il faut attendre que quelqu’un vienne nous chercher pour nous conduire dans un petit garage. Jusque là rien de grave. Voiture avec des coups mais correcte et récente. Les problèmes sont venus au retour. Nous avions demandé de rendre la voiture avant 8h car l’avion décollait à 10h. cela n’était pas possible. Ils nous ont dit pas avant 8h. bon ok on se dépêchera. Sur place à 8h, nous ne trouvons personne. On trouve un peu plus loin un monsieur qui veut bien téléphoner pour nous car nous ne parlons pas italien. Enfin, quelqu’un arrive à 8h20. Il commence à laver la voiture et trouve une soit disant griffe en dessous du parechoc avant. Et nous dit qu’il y a sinistre. Il n’y a bien sur rien du tout… une belle arnaque.. mais l’heure tourne et l’avion va décoller. Nous refusons de signer son papier et là il nous annonce qu’il ne nous conduira pas à l’aéroport, que nous allons devoir marcher. Une honte… un scandale… heureusement dans notre malheur un taxi passait par là et nous avons eu notre avion…nous avons porté plaintes et attendons la suite… mais ils ont prélevé 660 euros sur notre carte de crédits….Une voiture qui nous coute près de 1000 euros pour une semaine En résumé : DES VOLEURS, DES ARNAQUEURS… SVP FUYEZ FUYEZ FUYEZ

Pessima esperienza, sconsigliato!
Prenotata l’auto con ritiro a Palermo con AcaRent attraverso VipCars, dopo esserci venuti a prendere in aeroporto ci portano in un parcheggio nel mezzo del nulla, senza uffici, né computer, solo un tavolino di plastica sotto un albero dove firmare il contratto. La situazione non trasmetteva affatto sicurezza! Ci portano con molta superficialità quest’auto enorme (avevamo prenotato una Punto), ammaccata ovunque e nessuno segnava da nessuna parte le botte già presenti. Ci dicono sul momento che Acarent prevede subito un pagamento aggiuntivo di 1500 euro di cauzione che ti ridaranno in seguito (onestamente poco credibili).
Fortunatamente la carta di credito aveva il massimale impostato e non sono riusciti ad effettuare il pagamento. Abbiamo chiesto di essere riportati in aeroporto e abbiamo optato per un’altra compagnia, ovviamente perdendo i soldi dell’assicurazione già pagati in precedenza. Le numerose recensioni negative su internet confermano la poca serietà e l’esperienza negativa.
NON CONSIGLIATO!

Check-in e out molto veloci all'aeroporto di Catania. Macchina (Fiat Tipo) in condizioni non eccezionali ma funzionante e, comunque, valutata attentamente dal personale e registrati tutti i danni preesistenti. Gentile il ragazzo che ci ha consegnato l'auto.

Compagnia di noleggio da cancellare per tutta la vita...truffatori ti fanno prenotare, incassano 15 euro e poi nel momento di consegnarti l'auto, ti cercano la carta di credito super speciale, in modo di andartene a piedi....

Mi chiamo Filippo Aragona.
Vi racconto la mia esperienza negativa recente con ACARENT a Catania (11e 12 maggio).
1) Mi hanno fatto pagare il lavaggio dell'auto in anticipo (10 euro)...bah!!!!;
2) Mi consegnano una Fiat Tipo anziche' un'utilitaria (che avrebbe consumato meno carburante);
3) mi danno l'auto con zero litri di carburante dovendola consegnare poi con zero litri (poi qualcuno mi spieghera' come si fa a prendere l'auto con la paura di rimanere a secco e lasciarla un'auto alla fine del noleggio con zero benzina!!!);
4) In caso di incidente con ragione mi levano dalla carta di credito 500 euro per poi farmeli rimborsare all'assicurazione...(cioe' una persona rimane coinvolta in un incidente e si vedra' portare via dalla carta di credito 500 euro....bah!!!!);
5) non esiste la gomma di scorta. Un caso di lesione grave ad una gomma...si perderanno ore e ore per aspettare un carro attrezzi e per avere un'altra auto;
6) in fase di contratto bloccano 1.200 euro con la carta di credito, quando in altre societa' e' a zero.

In definitiva e' un disastro!!!!!
Mai piu' questa esperienza con ACARENT

Horrendous experience with a corrupt and fraudulent company - ACA Rent (aka Quattro Rent) at Catania airport, Sicily.

I booked a car with ACA Rent via Do You Italy and when I turned up, they sent me off to another desk because of a "change" in the booking. After I was stranded without a car I found out that they actually:

- Didn't have a car for me but didn't bother to tell me.
- Without my knowledge or permission, had used my personal details to book a car with another company.
- Told me it was the exact same deal. This was untrue. There was no second driver on the other company terms and conditions and adding one would have cost me another 133 Euros.
- Lied and told me that Do You Italy had made the change.
- When the other company's office was closed and I was stranded without a car, shrugged and said it wasn't their problem.

I ended up having to find a car to rent on the spot and it cost me nearly double what I had been expecting to pay with ACA Rent - plus three hours of stress with two small children.

I spoke to Do You Italy on the phone and they were both hugely apologetic and pretty shocked that ACA Rent had been so deceitful. Both I and Do You Italy filed a complaint and they have not provided a decent reply yet - two months later! Book at your peril!

A parte l’attesa per ritirare l’auto in aeroporto a Catania mi è stata data una Fiesta sbattuta in ogni punto; appena partito mi sono accorto che vibrava tutta, non c’era acqua nel radiatore e nel tergicristallo, dopo pochi chilometri si è accesa la spia dell’olio.
Dopo 2 giorni, all’esterno delle grotte dell’Alcantara, di notte, dopo aver assistito ad uno spettacolo,ho trovato una gomma a terra, non c’era nulla per cambiarla e non c’era la gomma di scorta. Fortunatamente alcune persone ci hanno dato uno strappo all’albergo a 40 chilometri. La mattina successiva dopo ore di telefonate una persona arrogante e scortese mi ha praticamente detti di arrangiarmi scoperto poi essere il titolare di questa azienda di truffatori.
Ho peso un taxi e sono tornato alle gole per vedere come fare essendo domenica.
La cosa impressionante è che le gomme anteriori erano completamente finite, c’era il ferro fuori e la gomma sgonfia perdeva da tutta la carcassa. Più testimoni hanno fatto foto e postate via web. Ho comunicato la cosa anche ai carabinieri del posto, fornendo le foto delle gomme.
Alla riconsegna anche il dipendente arrogante non si è preoccupato dell’accaduto, forse abituato, e non ha neanche pensato di rimborsarci i costi della riparazione, cioè sostituzione della gomma ed i costi per il taxi.
Fate attenzione a questa società di truffatori!!!

Come successo esattamente al signor GAUDENZIO DIVONA (che prego di contattarmi al numero 3299638913) la compagnia Acarent dell'aeroporto di Catania mi ha consegnato una fiat 500 sporca che rendeva impossibile individuare danni già esistenti e mi ha poi contestato un danno, guarda caso su cerchio come nel caso dell'altro malcapitato, chiedendomi esattamente stesso importo 368,44 euro. Trattasi di truffa organizzata. Fate attenzione!!!!
