Warranty support is unacceptable – I cannot recommend this company
My experience with 8849 / Tank 4 Pro has been extremely disappointing.

The fingerprint scanner on my phone stopped working completely. It is no longer active when trying to add a fingerprint in the settings. I performed all standard troubleshooting steps, including restarting the phone and carrying out a full factory reset, but the defect remains.

When I contacted customer support, instead of offering a proper warranty solution, they suggested sending spare parts and refunding me only **$50** so that I could try to find a repair shop myself.

This is not a serious or acceptable warranty solution.

In Germany, no official service is likely to take responsibility for repairing this kind of phone and provide a meaningful warranty for the repair. On top of that, **$50 is completely unrealistic** for diagnostic work and repair here. Support also admitted that there are “many uncertain factors” regarding the cause of the defect. Exactly for that reason, their proposal makes no sense: the problem may not even be the fingerprint scanner itself, but another internal hardware issue.

The phone is in **excellent cosmetic condition**. It has always been used in a protective case, has never been dropped, and does not have a single scratch. So vague references to possible damage after months of use are not a valid excuse to refuse a replacement or refund.

What I see here is simple: the company is happy to sell devices internationally, but when a real warranty case appears, they try to shift the risk, cost, and responsibility onto the customer.

That is not professional after-sales support. That is not a warranty I can trust. At this point, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

I contacted customer support on two occasions after living with a tank 4 phone for a couple of months.

The phone was riddled with faults including cutting out, instant battery depletion and not holding charge consistently, not charging correctly using their supplied charger, phantom touches and huge glitches with operating system etc etc etc.

They absolutely ignored my requests for support and ignored both my emails regarding the fact the phone was total junk and how I had tried everything to remedy it.

The only conclusion I can draw from unihertz is they don't give a stuff about their customers, will sell them a phone for over £400 but completely ignore requests to get the phone exchanged for one which works or just refund the phone altogether.

Such a shame as my previous tank 3 phone was spot on and I really enjoyed using it but I will never use unihertz, but tank products or attempt to contact customer support direct at 8849 again.

I may as well have given them £400 as this phone is totally unusable and they just don't want to know.

Completely appalling after care considering they are trying to be taken seriously as a global product.

If they also fail to respond to this review and remedy my issue I will simply take it to trading standards, possibly take unihertz to small claims court and definitely leave social media reviews with screen recordings of this review and all emails sent to 8849 and ignored by them.

But their products and play the lottery. If it worked great. If it doesn't you have simply lost your money and won't get it back, and exchange or even any advice cos they couldn't care less clearly.

Expected better. Received what's basically a brick in the post which cannot be used.

Unihertz and 8849, you have three days from the date of this review to remedy my issue. If you do i will remove this review. If you don't then please believe this is not the last you will hear about this and I will mount a social media campaign exposing you and your practises.

You are not going to cheat me out of over £400!

Stop buying tank 4 Pro

Have a tank 2 phone and a tank pad. Both really well made devices.
Ordered the tank pad because my tank 2 had a battery issue (stuck at 56% charge). I never had a phone that lasted this long. Super satisfied with the brand.
I send them a mail after i ordered the tank pad telling them about the issue i have with my tank 2 phone. Today the part that is needed for fixing the tank 2 arrived as a package fully send by 8849 as a service. Was not expecting this kind of service. 10/10 !!

Ich habe 2 Shark Telefone gekauft, da ein Freund mir diese empfohlen hat. Es ist nur eins verschickt worden. Beim zweiten bekam ich die gleiche Trackingnummer. Paypal hat den ersten Fall eingestellt und der zweite läuft noch. Leider ist das Shark nach 3 Wochen Nutzung mit Displayschaden (Glas intakt) unbrauchbar. Support Fehlanzeige. Ich denke die anderen Bewertungen hier sind Fake. Es kommt einfach keine Reaktion. Also lieber Finger weg.

Nachdem mein altes Smartphone ständig leer war, war es Zeit sich nach einem neuen mit anständigen Akku umzuschauen. Dabei viel mir das Tank 4pro ins Auge. Ich habe es direkt am 1. Juni vorbestellt. Direkt im 8849 official Store.
Mir war klar, dass es eine Vorbestellung ist und ich somit länger darauf warten muss. Ich war zudem nicht sicher wie vertrauenswürdig dieser Store tatsächlich ist und ob dann noch weitere Kosten auf mich zu kommen.

Vorab, das Tank 4 pro kostete mich jetzt 650euro in der der teuersten Version. Also mit 1tb Speicher in der EU Version. Ich habe aus Österreich bestellt.
Da 8849 offensichtlich tatsächlich Lager in Bremen hat, war der Preis auf deren Internetseite tatsächlich der Endpreis. Das finde ich richtig genial. Das Handy kam übrigens am 8. Juli an. Man muss aber bedenken, dass ich einen Monat bevor es überhaupt verkauft wurde ja schon bestellt habe. Somit ist das für mich absolut in Ordnung. Während man darauf wartet sollte man in der Bestätigungsemail des Kaufs immer Mal wieder reinschauen. Dort werden Versand Fortschritte dann angezeigt bzw auch die Sendungsverfolgung dann geteilt. Eine extra Benachrichtigung gibt es nämlich nicht. Das ist aber auch ok.
Ich denke, wenn man ein Handy welches schon auf dem Markt ist kauft, wie jetzt ja auch das 4pro, sollte es in weniger als einer Woche da sein. Und die Preise im 8849 Store sind definitiv die günstigsten. Mit Abstand sogar.

Das Handy kam unversehrt an. Es hatte 28% Akku beim ersten anschalten. Was zum kompletten einrichten des Handys total ausreicht. Ist ja am Ende doch mehr als die meisten Handys überhaupt an Akku haben.
Das Tank 4 pro ist ja deutlich kompakter und flacher als Tank 3 s oder gar das Monster Tank 3pro. Aber Fakt ist, man bekommt beim nutzen definitiv Muskelkater in Handgelenk und Fingern. Und man kann als Handy-in-hosentasche-träger nur noch Hosen mit Gürtel anziehen. Lockere Sommerhose..... No. Das Ding zieht dir sprichwörtlich die Hosen aus. Dennoch passt es in die Hosentasche und schränkt im Alltag eigentlich nicht ein. Keine Frage. Es ist kein Gerät für jeden. Aber ich finde es Hammer.

Die Display Einstellung war in Sachen wiederholfrequenz auf 60hz eingestellt. Man kann sie auf 60hz, 90hz und 120hz einstellen. Nach dem Umstellen auf 120hz hat es ein paar wenige Sekunden gedauert. Dann sah man den Unterschied aber extrem. Mein altes Smartphone konnte auch 60 oder 120hz. Ich habe das Gefühl das dieses Display tatsächlich deutlich besser läuft als bei meinem oneplus 8pro davor. Ich bin absolut positiv überrascht. Das Display ist super.

Der Beamer ist ebenfalls überraschend gut. Aber nur in dunklen Räumen wirklich sinnvoll.

Einzig die fehlende Bildstabilisierung beim Video drehen stört mich etwas. Das konnte mein oneplus 8pro extrem gut. Hier wackelt es einfach. Fotos dagegen sind absolut in Ordnung. Gute Schärfe und vor allem ganz tolle Farben.

Für 650 Euro definitiv ein Hammer Gerät. Jetzt muss es nur noch min 5 Jahre halten. Mehr kann man ja eh von keinem Gerät mehr verlangen. 😉

Ich hatte 8849 (Uniherz) schon länger auf meiner Merkliste, da ich ein großer Fan von Outdoor-Smartphones bin. Über die typischen Eigenschaften wie Größe, Gewicht und Dicke war ich mir im Vorfeld bewusst.

Meine Wahl fiel auf das 8849 Tank 3 mit Rangefinder.
Es gibt zahlreiche Bestellmöglichkeiten – von Alibaba bis AliExpress und Co. –, doch das beste Angebot fand ich direkt beim Hersteller auf 8849.tech. Bestellt habe ich zu Ostern, als das Telefon von etwa 650 € UVP auf 430 € reduziert war. Dank eines zusätzlichen Ostergutscheins sparte ich weitere 30 €, sodass ich letztlich rund 400 € zahlte.

Der Bestellvorgang war unkompliziert und verlief problemlos. Innerhalb von drei Tagen wurde die Bestellung bearbeitet, am vierten Tag versandt und am fünften Tag per DHL geliefert.

Das Paket war neutral verpackt, geschützt mit etwas Papier. Leider – wie bei DHL leider öfter – war eine Ecke leicht beschädigt, sodass auch der Handy-Karton kleine Schönheitsfehler aufwies. Ärgerlich, aber kein Weltuntergang.
Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass 8849 Lager in Deutschland betreibt, was Zoll- und Einfuhrprobleme vermeidet.

Das Gerät selbst kam unversehrt bei mir an. Der Akku war leer, benötigte also zunächst etwas Ladezeit.
Nach der Einrichtung konnte ich das Handy problemlos von Android 13 auf Android 14 aktualisieren. Allerdings ist das letzte Sicherheitsupdate bereits 13 Monate alt – eventuell lässt sich hier manuell noch nachbessern.

Das Smartphone entspricht ansonsten genau der Produktbeschreibung.

Zum Support: Anfangs war der Kundenservice schwer erreichbar, was an einer Umstellung der Webseite lag. Danach war der Kontakt problemlos möglich.
Zwar konnten nicht alle Fragen zu 100 % beantwortet werden, jedoch war die Reaktionszeit schnell und die Hilfestellung freundlich – dafür vergebe ich volle Sterne.

Fazit: Ich kann den Kauf nur empfehlen. Der Preis ist günstiger als bei den gängigen China-Händlern, der Versand aus Europa spart Zeit und zusätzliche Kosten, und der Support reagiert zügig.
Ob sich das Handy auch im Langzeiteinsatz bewährt, wird die Zeit zeigen – aktuell bin ich aber sehr zufrieden. Ein erneuter Kauf ist bei gleichbleibender Qualität definitiv nicht ausgeschlossen.
