Wish I'd of gone directly with northern gas. These clowns took 2.300 of my money upfront and found myself doing all the chasing up myself. Asked for a refund as stated in a email that I was entitled to a full refund if I wasn't happy after the survey. Was told this would be in my bank after 10 working days. Guess what no refund after ten working days so my bank are chasing it up and will charge then accordingly. Update i have just received confirmation of the refund on the 23rd of feb when a previous email dated 13th of feb states the refund will be processed today so they lie to customers also. What a horrible company to deal with. 😔

As outlined in our email correspondence, you are absolutely entitled to a full refund (in your case, £2,300.00) if you decide not to proceed following the survey.
Refunds are processed within 10 working days; however, in some cases, banking clearance times can cause slight delays beyond this timeframe. We apologise if this was not clearly communicated or if there has been any delay in your specific case. I can confirm that the refund has now left our bank, and I have emailed you proof of this.
We take feedback seriously and are always working to improve our communication and service.

1Gas did a great job of moving the meter
1Gas arrived when they said they would, it all went very smoothly, they did everything, fitted the new box outside and then reconnected the meter. It was all completed within one day.
The following day they came back and filled the hole and the next day reinstated the concrete and even matched the pattern. It was all done to a very high standard, by polite and friendly workmen and was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

Gas Connection Enquiry
I recently contacted 1Gas to enquire about a new gas connection and received a reply from Olivia. I had a number of questions for Olivia who answered them thoroughly and in a very timely manner.
Whilst I am not planning to proceed with a connection at the present time, should that time arise I would absolutely return to 1Gas to initiate proceedings based on my recent experience.

Having been given BS by EDF Energy for several weeks, I contacted 1Gas and the job was done within 7 days. Dan was helpful and communicative.

They charged me £60 to have a GT1 test carried out on my existing gas supply and told me it would be done within 20 days.
I waited 30 days, and nothing happened, so I contacted them again, and eventually managed to get my money back.
I then contacted a company called Cadent (Previously known as Centrica) and they had someone out to me within a week, at no cost.
Trust Pilot are allowing this 1Gas Connections to use the name and reviews of a company who previously traded with an almost identical name, that disolved on the 2nd March 2019.
Only about 20 out of the 629 reviews are for the reincarnation of 1Gas Connections, with the remainder being for the defunct company. SO BEWARE.

Completing a GT1 form and keeping track of it is very time consuming so we do charge if it is a stand alone request. Before you instructed 1 Gas we did point out that your supplier can arrange this for you free of charge but you said getting through to your energy supplier (Avro Energy) was impossible as you have confirmed in your other Trust-pilot reviews. GT1 test can only be done by the responsible network and your request in September 2020 was at the hight of the pandemic. At the time of your request Cadent Gas put a hold on carrying out GT1 test if the meter was located inside of any properties. This was to keep their engineers safe. This was out of our control and the only reason for the delay. Looking at the notes we refunded you in full the same day we received your refund request.

The best company to go to if you want…
The best company to go to if you want to install a gas meter. I tried British Gas, EDG, EON, Scottish Power, Gaz Prom none were able to help me their install wait time was 8 weeks also the price was much much more. XL Energy installed my meter within 2 days. I would highly recommend XL energy very pleased with the level of service and professionalism. Speak to Dan his very experienced and knowledgeable.
