I had Ray Tracing Guided (RTG) LASIK with Focus Clinics 6 months ago on the 8th of May 2025. Throughout my journey with Focus Clinics I have had an excellent experience and the clinic has gone above and beyond for me.

I started considering laser eye surgery more strongly back during November 2024, over the course of researching into this I visited four different clinics offering laser eye surgery. I chose to go with Focus Clinics for two reasons. The first was their patient care and time they were able to provide patients with. For example, I had a great and in depth first appointment, and was able to meet and see the surgeon at my second appointment before making any decisions. Focus Clinics always made sure to answer any questions I had. The second reason was because Focus Clinics had recently adopted a new technology, RTG LASIK, which showed promising results and methodology.

Focus Clinics always took my concerns and questions with the upmost consideration and respect, going above and beyond, which I appreciated. For example, in my case I was aiming to have surgery while also waiting to be discharged from a hospital referral for my eyes at the time. This was handled well by the clinic, and the clinic were happy to arrange for the surgeon, Mr Allamby, to have an extra phone call appointment with me when I had more questions.

The surgeon, Mr Allamby, also took great care when I visited and pointed out a small issue with my eyes that no other clinic or opticians had pointed out or noticed, and provided me with a cream prescription for this. This issue was not a cause for concern, but treating it meant I improved my chances of a successful surgery. The prescription worked in treating this over 6 weeks and I really appreciated this extra level of detail the surgeon went to.

Focus Clinics put my interests first, and at my request were happy to do extra scans for me prior to surgery, an OCT scan and an endothelial cell count.

The day of surgery itself went smoothly and was ran very well by the clinic, Mr Allamby and the surgery team did a great job in making me feel comfortable and relaxed during the surgery.

The aftercare and guidance provided by the clinic is great too, providing 1 day, 1 week, 6 week, 3 months and 6 months follow up appointments, with the clinic always being on hand to arrange another appointment or advice if needed.

Overall, I am so happy and grateful I found this clinic to trust in having my surgery with. It was a big decision, and thanks to Focus Clinics, was a decision I am proud and happy about.

From my point of view if you’re thinking about laser eye surgery I can certainly recommend it, my prescription was -2.50/-2.75 prior to surgery and my results six months onwards are 20/12 vision. I have had a good recovery, and side effects have been very minimal with some dry eye as expected to begin with that has now recovered. Of course, I would also recommend you do your full research before making your decision as this is purely my experience.

I would like to thank all of the amazing staff I saw at Focus Clinics who were all very friendly and welcoming to me, and very helpful throughout. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my surgeon, Mr Allamby, whose exceptional skill and vast experience ensured my procedure was carried out to the highest standard.

In summary, my experience at Focus Clinics was outstanding, and I would confidently recommend them to anyone considering treatment.
