Not what you would want

Offered a pay to view tracking service initially on my order. Delivery took over 3 weeks to get to me with several email chasers along the way. Goods arrived and I was not happy with the colour on one item and sought to return. Was offered 2 options neither which suited and opted for the return option on their website which included return delivery costs. The company have gone silent. I will never use them again and can kick myself for not checking Trustpilot reviews before making my purchase. Had I done do, I would have avoided all this hassle and saved myself £70 in the process. A really bad experience from start to finish.

Volume of logs you are buying

The website says a half load is 0.6m3 worth (of logs) equivalent to 1 bulk builder's bag loose. My delivery came on a truck and was then decanted into wheelbarrows and neatly packed into my log store. My final volume was around 0.35m3. Obviously loose logs will take up more volume than neatly packed logs but I'm left feeling hard done by. It's like paying for air, much like buying a packet of crisps for slightly increased costs (due to inflation) and finding the bag only contains 8 crisps!

Were it not for the good quality wood that has been nicely kiln dried/seasoned with moisture below 10% plus the excellent delivery service, I would have given this rating no stars.

Worst Experience

Possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. They may be fine for pre-paid boiler servicing but they are not the insurers to use for home emergencies. They make claiming virtually impossible. Talk about ways of avoiding claim payouts: these guys are the experts. Off shore underwriters doing lengthy claims underwriting!! Then there’s the call centre that don’t have access to the enquiries mailbox through which you will have been steered to submit your claims documentation. Brilliant! Try cancelling your policy when invited to renew! They will ignore your emails as well as your instruction to their renewal guy who will phone you. They hang on to your banking details and assume everyone wants to auto renew. They will then debit your bank account almost 2 weeks before your actual renewal date. You will then wait at least 10 working days to get your refund. Their website refers you to FOS for complaints but their staff will tell you to complain to the Guernsey Ombudsman Service. Shameful, sloppy, slow, shambolic and shady. They are utterly unsuitable for home emergency cover. They are also in complete breach of one of the FCA’s desired consumer outcomes: operating without hindering typical consumer outcomes.

Membership by stealth!

Realised I was duped when bank account debited £18.00. Very underhand way of doing business. Borderline mis-sales. Have requested that my “account” be cancelled and that I be given a full refund. Let’s see what happens!

Update: received a full refund and membership cancelled! I’m happy!

Ordered 21 packs of salt for our Harvey Water Softener of which 15 were badly broken.

Ordered 21 packs of salt for our Harvey Water Softener (which we have had for 8 years). Of the 21 packs delivered in 3 separate orders (3 packs on day 1, a further 3 packs on day 2 and the balance of 15 pack in one delivery thereafter) 15 packs were either broken in multiple places and/or in damaged plastic bags making moving them tricky. One or two large breaks in the block salt are acceptable as stacking the biggish bits in the softener is fine. However the damaged bags sounded like they contain small sized gravel and powder. When approached the company offered only 6 packs as compensation and informed me that returns would need to be paid for by me! I would have expected a higher standard from this company and they cannot simply hide behind DPD Deliveries etc. I will not be buying my salt from them again.

The worst customer service imaginable.

Spoke to the customer service person today. We have endure over 1 year with a sub standard boiler that has never worked properly. Previous calls have been met with: it's not covered under warranty (it was bought in August 2021), our model has been discontinued (was brand new at installation in August 2021), they only deal with plumbers not the public and eventually they put the phone down on us. They will avoid responsibility and I would never recommend this company nor its products to anyone ever. Going to rip it out and replace with a Worcester Bosch even though much more expensive. Seriously bad.

Customer service stopped short

I had an initial contact from customer service promising a more in depth follow up. I’m still waiting. This company is really bad. I will bin the shirt I bought. An absolute waste of money and time. Abysmal and shameful!
