Helpful staff when I lose my delivery number.

A parcel was sent to me with a slightly incorrect address. Hermes were unable to deliver even though there are only 3 houses in the road, a telephone number had been supplied and anyone in any of those houses could have said where Maureen Marshall lived.
Having sent an email to Hermes with the precise house name, repeating all other relevant information and ensuring that the courier had our telephone number in case he experienced difficulties, Hermes still failed on a further two occasions to deliver my parcel.
Emails to the company produced only a set of standard responses which bore no relation to the real situation. When it seemed that I might have made contact with a real person, her assurances of a prompt delivery proved worthless. Eventually, my parcel was returned to sender and we started all over again. Fortunately, on this occasion the sender decided to use a different delivery agent who were able to deliver my parcel with no problem whatsoever.
