We have had problems with our central heating system for a while; slow to respond, and not holding pressure. Neighbours recommended HOCU. They were quick to respond. After discussions with Vince, I decided to pay for a leak survey. That showed up a leak in the coil within the hot water cylinder, and also a probable leak in pipework in the ground floor screed. HOCU replaced the HW cylinder, then flushed the system and suggested putting in valves to isolate the suspect section of pipework, which proved that it had indeed been leaking. Vince and Martin then worked out a plan to relocate and re-pipe a radiator to eliminate the section of pipe in the screed. This was a difficult job, on pipes in a confined space, but the result is neater than I thought possible, and although it is early days we now finally have a system which responds quickly and holds pressure. Vince, Martin and James have been helpful, courteous and efficient throughout, and admin, billing and communications have been excellent.

I delayed writing this review until follow-up work had been completed. The Leak Detection Company were very professional, organised and easy to deal with. They were able to offer an appointment within a couple of days of my call. Their engineer, Brendan, turned up on time, and was polite, knowledgeable and efficient. His thermal imaging device gave us a much clearer idea of the pipework layout. Humidity tests indicated a problem with pipes in the ground floor concrete screed, and the gas injection test clearly demonstrated that the coil inside the hot water tank was leaking. None of the CH engineers who had previously looked at the system had thought of that as a possible cause of the pressure loss. Brendan disconnected the coil and capped the pipes so that the rest of the system could be used. Based on Brendan's report, HOCU, a local CH engineering company, have now replaced the hot water cylinder and relocated and re-piped the lounge radiator to eliminate the pipes in the screed. For the first time in a couple of years we have a system that responds quickly and holds pressure. Initially the tests looked like an expensive option, but they turned out to be money and time well spent.

Received a renewal notification email, rang to query the price and 'region'. Helpful lady on the phone, but didn't seem to be able to update the quote without starting from scratch, going through all the questions as if for a new policy, including the medical declarations (difficult when she seemed to have only a partial understanding of the questions and answers). Finally came up with a price which was higher than the one I'd queried. When I said this was unacceptable, she suddenly seemed to be able to offer a £200 discount. So I accepted that, but it was a very tedious and in the end rather bizarre process.
Update: Reece, from InsureandGo customer service team, followed up very quickly on this review, telephoned to apologise and said that the process should have been much more straightforward. We reviewed the policy details, which resulted in a further reduction in the cost. I was impressed with this response form InsureandGo.

Didn't make the one hour target for a text notifying that a click and collect order was ready. Nearer three hours. Luckily it didn't matter in this instance, and once I got to the store the service was quick and helpful, and the goods were at a good price.

I ordered a heated towel rail. The one I received is not the one I had ordered. It is technically equivalent, but would have been available considerably cheaper from another supplier. I emailed Heatand Plumb offering to accept it if they will refund the difference. They have not even acknowledged my email. Very poor customer care.

Good quick service. The only hiccup was in trying to claim the HP cashback. HP require an image of the invoice, Cartridgesave originally sent only a delivery note. But they came up with the invoice promptly when requested.
