I conducted the test pilot with a Zubie GPS device during the summer of 2016 using one of my company's Sodexo Facilities Maintenance vehicle. The test went very well and we were pleased with the results and information that the Zubie GPS device provided us.
From the very beginning
From the very beginning, our batteries were being drained, and Zubie never took an ounce of responsibility for that (a 2015 BMW, a 2015 Ford F-150 and five 2016 Ford F-150s continued to have problems the entire time until we finally pulled the devices out in January). Also, when we update maintenance, 90% of the time, the Zubie gives us incorrect mileage; that is irritating when we are trying to keep up with our records. Honestly, these devices have caused more of a headache than anything. Do your research - there are other companies that provide the same service and will willingly help you if/when you have issues with the devices.
I have had Zubie for several years now
I have had Zubie for several years now. At the beginning they were very good to work with and great customer service.but now I find it difficult to talk with folks there and have not had a great success with using email. The last time I was up for renewal for both units they would not offer any discounts so I ended up purchasing two new units from Amazon.com. I did have some issues of the service for tracking, etc not being up to par so at this point I have removed the units and with renewal soon upon me I am not planning to renew my account/
Love this product
Love this product! Helps us keep track of our teenage driver and her driving habits. Also track the maintenance of the car - very helpful when we aren't in the car ourselves very often.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. Hotspot disconnects every 5 minutes to the point of it being unusable. Support blames Verizon, says its a known issue. Meanwhile still charges me every month and refuses to entertain a refund. This is after having me try out 4 + different devices.
The should not charge for the service until they fix it. I should cancel, but I need "some" connectivity and this was the only Verizon option.
Do not buy the hotspot, it simply doesn't work.

I use this on my fleet of trucks but also my personal car as well. Reminds me when to change oil and service my vehicles.

Excellent once plugged into vehicles. Love the phone app that sends notifications of hard brakes, speeding, etc. No interation with customer service to date because the Zubies (we have 3) all work correctly.

Great product, installed on teen son’s car. Older model car doesn’t seem to support gas tank level but otherwise super happy we have the info. Super easy install and user interface. Thanks Zubie.

Love the Zubie app! Great to understand how my teens are driving and also when the car needs maintenance or is out of gas.I highly recommend for new drivers.
Unreliable Device
Very frequently would not connect to 4g. WiFi would connect, but dead mobile data meant phone inoperative. Constantly needed fiddling. Could not count on the device to "just work" for more than a day. sometimes not even. Days would go by until trips would show in the reporting. The solution was tape to SIM card but never fixed. Could not justify spending $10/month for data on a device that simply never works and can't be counted on to perform the functions advertised. When it worked it was great, but working was the exception - too much effort every day to get anything out of it. What a letdown. I bought 2, one for me and one for wife - they're just paper-weights now.
Loved all the ideas behind it, the non-Bluetooth aspect, the WiFi hotspot, being able to monitor through the internet (say if on vacation), and IFTTT integration - but none of that matters if you can't connect to mobile internet.
Good service but...
When I first started using Zubie the real time tracking for a family, non-commercial account was near real time while the car was in motion - I restarted my subscription recently once another of my children started driving but am disappointed as they’ve changed the real time trip updates to (I believe) a 5 minute interval for a family account - basically useless until after the trip is complete. I end up using an iOS app to watch real time progress when I am curious. The zubie still tracks hard brake, speeding events, etc so that’s good and I believe you can figure out speed, etc along a driven route after the trip is complete.

Their cheaper device operates on T-Mobile and the service is sub par at best.. I purchased the Verizon model because I wanted good coverage and real time tracking but that too was very sub par... despite the use of the Verizon network.
When I tried to resell the device zubie refused to support the device refused to help the new customer pair the device to their new account, and expired my previous link qr code. I ended up with a useless paperweight. Will never by zubie again.
Not happy the process to replace defective unit.
The unit started out working most of the time and after the first 14 months it was less reliable. I called to see what could be done. Without my prior knowledge or consent, or discussion Zubie turned off the existing unit and I had to wait over a week to receive the replacement. Zubie would not send the replacement without discounting the service to the existing unit. Nothing was offered during this downtime for this inconvenience. Seems to me they could have shipped the new, when received they could have activated the new replacement unit then deactivated the old unit. So, in summary the service can be spotty and the customer service seems to all about making it easier on Zubie and not the customer.
