This was the BEST of all the camps. This was the most luxurious camp. The tent was big and you could see animals very close to the tent. They had a happy hour before dinner with drinks and appetizers. The food was amazing. The staff was exceptional. The staff at dinner would sing and dance and it was very lively. We loved this camp the best and would return here. Also the safari jeep here was an open one and that was the best way to view the animals.
The location for the Ubuntu camp is amazing. I was in the south in late Dec and the view from right outside my tent was unbelievable. Wildebeest & zebra roaming around, beautiful sunsets .. you feel like you are in the middle of the actual migration. I walked to my tent behind two zebra one day and a zebra even gave birth at the camp one night! It was amazing taking a shower outside while looking at animals in the actual Serengeti. What a privilege. Even if the ground was muddy, we managed to drive around loads and I even saw my first ever cheetah! I met a lot of lovely people at Ubuntu, both staff and fellow travellers. Beautiful experience. As said, I really enjoyed my stay at Ubuntu. The reason I gave 4/5 is as there were some minor inconveniences daily which seemed to be caused by lack of staff communication/confusion. For example, 2-3 different people asking me when I want hot water for the shower but still the water doesn’t arrive. Another example: I have some food allergies and the staff wanted me to sit at a separate table at dinner, instead of the communal table with everyone else, to ensure I get the right food. Staff seemed confused when I sat down with everyone else at dinner but if was fine in the end and I was allowed to sit with the others for the rest of my stay.
Cannot say enough good things about Ubuntu. The staff was amazing. The location superb. Loved everything about our stay.
Absolutely excellent. The people make it amazing!! it was really, really special, and we were so sorry to leave.
