Such a waste of time. I have been trying to get a life insurance with Zurich all afternoon and at various points of their ***extremely*** long and frustrating application, their website reaches an unexpected error 500 and you need to start from scratch. "Helpfully", 20 min after this happens, you receive an email prompting you to continue your application... which after verifying your details redirects you to the same error. Don't waste your time filling out their application...

I paid over £9,000 over nearly 25 years for critical illness cover.I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called stiff person syndrome which affects 1 in a million people it is non curable.It has the same type of symptoms as multiple sclerosis and other debilitating neurological conditions.Was told they wouldn’t pay out because it wasn’t listed.It is a very progressive debilitating condition.How would it ever be listed when there is probably only about 70 people in the uk with it.Has changed my life on strong medication and unable to drive after 46 years a total loss of my own independence.Think very carefully before taking out critical illness cover.Shame on you Zurich.

I had a pension that was due to be paid out as my Birthday was in March. Unfortunately my wife died in January and we have to go through probate. I called as wanted to get this paid out in this tax year so it would not effect the probate tax. I done all the paperwork months in advance. I called a month before and asked is everything ok ? Yes they said all straight forward. They said to be on safe side call on your birthday just to make sure its prioritised this I did. Then after chasing again today as now only 1.5 days away and I get an email through saying we got your claim with the escalation team but we not going to pay before next tax year. So even though I done all the paperwork months in advance and calls they just turn around and go no not doing it. I explained all the Tax implications by them not doing it and they don't care. I have had to put in a official complanate but after this experience they just don't care about the individual customers. I said I am sure they are not going to pay all my extra tax because even though I had done everything asked of me they just don't have the time or can be bothered to help.

This insurance company is a big scammer putting the situation on the customer when you sell the Insurance there has another fee but when you have happen and you contact him, they are totally different face of evil so my hardly recommendation. Don’t use this Insurance for a car for a home and for any purposes thank you.

I've had a very disappointing experience. After providing full details, I waited nearly a year only to find that the final decision appeared to be based on assumptions rather than established facts. The reasoning given relied on hypothetical conclusions about what might have happened, rather than evidence of what actually did. Additionally, the case was compared to a precedent that was not factually comparable, which further undermined confidence in the outcome.
Throughout the process, communication was slow and often unclear. Responses were vague and did not directly address the key concerns raised, leaving important questions unanswered. What I was seeking was a clear, well-reasoned explanation grounded in evidence, but this was not provided.
Overall, the handling of the claim lacked transparency, consistency, and accountability. This experience has significantly reduced my confidence in the company, and I would be hesitant to rely on their services in the future.

wrote a review on 14th January regarding the following; Zurich represent Renfrewshire Council. In January 2025 a tree situated on council property fell onto our fence, completely damaging the fence and our neighbours partitioning fence too. a month prior the council inputted a path directly next to the trees which we believe damaged the root structure making it completely unstable. We waited over 8 months for a response from this company sayin they were not liable and provided a load of rubbish excuses from the tree were checked annually- they provided no proof of this, the path would not have damaged the root structure- no evidence provided. I am now looking to take serious legal action as no evidence to their refusal claims were provided upon further request. looking at other reviews, this company seem to be useless and I will never recommend this company to anyone. I am +£2k out of pocket because of FALSE REFUSAL CLAIMS!
We note that following submission of our claim, Renfrewshire Council has since removed all trees along the adjacent fencing. This strongly suggests recognition that the trees posed a foreseeable risk, contrary to your assertion that no negligence could be established. This subsequent action is highly material and raises a presumption that the Council was, or ought to have been, aware of the risks at the relevant time.
We were contacted by a member of zurich saying they would look into the refusal of our claim and we have heard nothing since, no email follow up, no phone calls. The last time it took 8 months for a response !!! Honestly this insurance company is vile and now we are over a year from the incident and I am still out of pocket!

I bought Travel Insurance with this company in complete good faith, I booked a holiday which I was forced to cancel due to Serious illness, needless to say they refused to pay out on my travel insurance even though they advertised it would be covered, relying on tiny small print. I had to put in a claim due to the issue mum had where RAW SEWAGE was coming from sink in downstairs toilet and flooding hallway, Mum is a home group tenant and home group saw fit to leave mum in that state for nearly 5 days, they refused to fix or pay for the damage that the sewage done to the Hallway and they told us to go through their insureser. This was done and it has taken nearly a year, we finally got a reply from zurich the following is the reply.(We've now completed our review of your claim with the Council. Although we are not admitting any fault, we are willing to offer a settlement on a without prejudice basis. Before we can make any payment, we do need evidence showing that the leak you reported caused the damage.
To move forward, we kindly ask you to provide photographs showing the sewage water coming out into your hallway and causing damage to the hallway flooring. We have received the photo you previously sent of the flooring, but it appears to show general wear and tear. It does not demonstrate that water travelled from the downstairs toilet into the hallway)
My reply to that email
(In relation to my last email sent to you confirming that we do not have photo evidence of the raw sewage coming out from the toilet into the hallway, what is our next step?
Concerning the photo evidence that you have asked for, can I just ask if it was happening to you at your property would you think oh let me take pictures? I'm sure that would not be the case and you would do exactly as my mum did and try your best to stop the sewage by cleaning it up the best you can stopping it from causing any more damage.
While this was happening mum was on her own and the last thing she would have thought was oh lets take some pictures, the only reason we hold pictures of the sewage in the toilet area is because I told mum to take pictures of the toilet area to send to home group so they could see what was going on and so they could see how they found it acceptable to leave mum like that for days, and it did not even cross my mind to take picture of the sewage entering the hallway, why would it when you are trying to stop the sewage and trying to get home group to send maintenance to attend the property to sort it out)
I have sent this message twice but have received no reply, what I find beyond belief is they say Although we are not admitting any fault, we are willing to offer a settlement on a without prejudice basis, but I am to show evidence of the sewage coming from toilet area in to hallway, this should have been asked for before saying they will give offer a settlement. Anyway still waiting for a reply.

When the CEO downwards just ignore you you know that you should never have trusted a supposedly ‘reputable’ company. Apparently just because Zurich have changed ‘jurisdiction’ then this absolves them from continuing disputes under the policy I paid for. Well known consumer programmes have intervened on my behalf. Yet Tim Bailey ignores all. Terrible company AVOID if you have any form of disability.
The disability was caused by the RTA I was supposed to be covered for by Zurich. All Zurich have done is add to my problems each and every step of the way.
Expecting a bot reply. ‘Send us your telephone number…’ sensory:deaf - any alternative accessible contact methods Zurich? Hmm?
