Everything was wrong! Landedup in Ahmedabad, the owner refused to handover after we reached his location. Wasted time!! Very inefficient problem resolution from ZoomCar. Very very poor experience! Never again!!

I've used Zoomcar quite a few times. Most of reviews i saw below are from US where i guess this company doesnt even operate. Zoomcar is a marketplace where you need to book a good rated car with good reviews. I have taken cars mostly over 4.5+ reviews and havent faced an issue yet.

DO NOT RENT FROM ZOOM!! This company has poor business practices - they will tell you the 3rd party booking cancelled your reservation, but when you contact the company, you find out that's not the case at all. If I could give them zero stars I would. We reserved a mid-size SUV and when we went to pick it up - realized it was not onsite at the airport with other well-known car rental companies. So we headed to the address listed and when we arrived there were about 20 people in line ahead of us and there were only 2 customer service reps assisting everyone. As we are standing there, I could see that there were 3-4 couples standing around on the phone, who were not happy. I could overhear some of the conversations and some being told their reservation had been cancelled, which made me concerned, because they had also booked with the same third party that I had used. I checked my reservation and it was still showing. As I was standing there, I started reading the fine print and noticed that Zoom was going to put a $1000 hold on my credit card and if we didn't use their insurance, there would be an additional $250 hold on the credit card as well. I'm a FL resident and was renting the vehicle to drive to Alabama and while standing there waiting to be called, I noticed that FL residents were limited to 50 miles per day while renting in Florida. When we made it up to the counter, we were told that Expedia cancelled our reservation at 9am - which honestly was a relief at this point. I am now working with Expedia to get a refund; however, Zoom is now stating that we didn't show for the reservation and are ineligible for a refund. All I can say is it may have cost me $72.27, but it taught me a valuable lesson - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Reservamos este carro porque en la página aparecía a $14 USD por día, lo que daba aproximadamente $130 USD por una semana, que fue exactamente el precio que nos mostraba el total al momento de hacer la reserva.

Sin embargo, al final terminamos pagando $500 USD, algo completamente absurdo y abusivo.

Lo peor es que siguen mostrando precios bajos en la página para atraer a la gente, pero cuando llega el momento de pagar, el precio real termina siendo varias veces más alto de lo que inicialmente muestran.

Esto es una práctica muy engañosa y poco transparente. Uno toma la decisión basándose en el precio que aparece en la página, y después terminan cobrando algo totalmente diferente.

No lo recomiendo en absoluto. Si están pensando en rentar aquí, tengan mucho cuidado porque el precio que ven en la página no es el precio que realmente van a terminar pagando.

I suggest the hosts to not give the car to the zoom car company.. they are very big fraud company which is never gonna change their service.

Absolutely terrible! This company is a scam! I rented a car through Expedia and they charged me a smoking fee of $557 and I have never smoked a day in my life. Pay a little extra and rent a car somewhere else.

They won't return your security deposit . Focus is on increasing way to get as much money as possible from customers and vehicle owners.

Worst experience! They took the money and cancelled the booking after that, with NO refund. Customer care is unreachable and no response from Zoomcar on this.

Zoom is the same as Colusa rent a car.

First of all, BEWARE OF THEIR ADDITIONAL HIDDEN CHARGES!
If you decline coverage, you will pay $15-25 or more per day, and I did not verify other add-ons, because I canceled on time before the trip.

I made a new reservation with their Zoom rent a car in FLL airport.
1) I never received a confirmation e-mail, and now I cannot click "Resend e-mail", because I cannot find my reservation on your website.
2) I tried to call them at 1-888-xxx and went though the prompts, but there was no option to speak to a live agent, so I selected "Contact me via WhatsApp", yet there was no response, just dropped call, and the same happened when I selected "Contact me via SMS".
Then I called their local 1-954-xxx - same result.

It surely doesn't feel like a legitimate rental company, and I am ready to file various complaints (BBB, etc.), but I wanted to give them a chance to explain and do the right thing and fix the situation, but they feel nonexistent, more like shady entity.

I suppose this review and rating doesn't matter to them and doesn't change anything, because their ratings are 1.0 everywhere, on BBB page, Yelp, etc.

I booked a car with Zoom Rent-A-Car in Fort Lauderdale through Expedia. The airport shuttle took over an hour to arrive, but that turned out to be the least of the problem.

At the counter, Zoom refused to honor the additional insurance I had purchased through Expedia, stating it was “not sufficient.” They also rejected my personal auto insurance from State Farm, which includes liability coverage well above Florida state requirements. I was told I would need to purchase an additional $300 insurance policy directly from them in order to proceed.

When I declined and attempted to cancel the reservation, they refused. I was later informed that because the pickup time had passed, the booking was non-refundable—despite the delay being caused by their shuttle. As a result, I was charged but received no car.

After experiencing this and then reading other customer reviews, it’s clear this is not an isolated incident. The combination of delayed pickups, rejection of valid insurance, and denial of refunds feels deliberately structured. I would strongly caution others before booking with this company.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of progress and the repeated generic responses I have received regarding my stolen car, which has been missing since 22 March 2025. It has now been over 220 days, and I still have no clear update or resolution from your side.

I have fully cooperated by filing complaints with the police twice and registering an FIR. I have also shared the details of the investigating officer and all required documents. Despite this, there has been no recovery of my car or any substantial update from your team.

This prolonged delay has caused severe financial distress. I have been paying an EMI of Rs. 27,155 per month, and over these months, I have already paid more than Rs. 2,17,240 from my own income. The ongoing financial burden is creating serious hardship for me and my family, affecting both our mental and physical well-being.

I urge you to treat this as an urgent escalation. Please provide me with a detailed status update on the investigation and the steps being taken to recover my vehicle. I expect a clear and specific response within the next few days.

As mentioned in my previous correspondence, I was expecting a clear and specific resolution by today. However, despite multiple follow-ups, there has been no response or concrete action from your end.

Since there has been no progress or resolution even after 7 to 8 months, I now request that you initiate the process to reimburse me with the ex-showroom value of my car, along with compensation for the financial and mental stress I have endured during this prolonged period.

Kindly share your resolution and proceed with the necessary formalities within the next 2 to 3 days. It has been over seven months of continuous waiting with no outcome, which is unacceptable.

If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution within the given timeline, I will be compelled to file an FIR against your company and also approach the consumer court for redressal.

We had an extremely horrible and disappointing experience. This was our first time booking a rental car through Zoomcar, and it turned out to be a nightmare. Our pick-up was scheduled for 10 PM, yet the host never informed us about any cancellation before we left home. The pick-up area itself was unsafe-narrow, damaged roads, open sewage, no streetlights, and an overall neglected locality like a mohalla.

After navigating through all of that, we arrived at the spot only to find that the host wasn’t responding. Our calls through the Zoomcar app kept getting disconnected, and when I finally sent a message, I received a notification saying the booking had been cancelled. Our entire travel plan fell apart because of the host’s last-minute cancellation. Had we been informed earlier, we could have made alternate arrangements. This level of irresponsibility is unacceptable.

Although they promised to refund the booking amount, what about the money we spent on other reservations like hotels? Who is accountable for those losses? Zoomcar refuses to take responsibility and keeps offering nothing but apologies. Zoomcar doesnt even make sure that the pick-up locations are safe and easy to reach. It is risky for people to go at such shady places for pick-up. Zoomcar is the worst platform for rental cars. They completely ruined our trip.

I strongly advise against booking a rental car through Zoomcar.

the reserved car was not available, had to pay more for a suitable car, unexpected charges. car was a total piece of crap, 5 years old and 96000 miles, peeling paint and all scratched up, did not even have good wiper blades. avoid this place
