Thank you so much to Laura from With Locals Casablanca. We missed our 10 tastings tour due to a mis communication and mis understanding with our guide, Ilyas.Laura continued to communicate with me afterwards and promptly gave us a refund when we couldnt find another date for the tour. i really appreciated her understanding and help. A tour another time.

Edna was simply excellent. As requested, we had a slow stroll through the old part of the city, viewing the key sites. She was informative without being excessive. On the plus was the recommended coffee place, serving one of the best coffees in the city, not to mention the free madeleine. We really enjoyed her guidance. Edna is highly recommended.

Alex was a well prepared and friendly guide who explains the history of the Acropolis like a storyteller unraveling a mystery. He is very engaging and our group of 4 adults enjoyed learning and interacting with him. I would highly recommend him!

Wir haben mit Emre eine kulinarische Führung mit typischen, türkischen Spezialitäten im Bezirk Beyoglu unternommen. Trotz gewisser Einschränkungen unsererseits (Vegetarisch und Histaminintolleranz) sind wir voll auf unsere Kosten gekommen. Emre war ein sehr charmanter und hilfsbereiten Begleiter, der uns auch Geschichten über Beyoglu erzählt hat und und zusätzliche Essens- und Einkaufstips gegeben hat. Wir können Emre wärmstens empfehlen.

We had an incredible all day tour of Osaka with Naoki. He was our guide in Kyoto so we knew what to expect… the feeling of walking around with a very knowledgeable local friend. Naoki shared fascinating stories that made history come alive, recommended local dishes that we would not have tried on our own, and worked with our schedule to ensure that we got to see all the sites we listed. If you're visiting Osaka, do yourself a favor and book HIS tour early!

Esra was great. Just wanted to show us Istanbul from a locals point of view. Listened to what we wanted to see and avoided areas we did not want or had made other arrangements to see. Very passionate, no rush finished later than anticipated due to us wanting to see more. Esra, as discussed when you are in London later this year let me know and I will show you things to see that are not in the tourist guide books! Thank you Tony & Cathy

Marko is effectively a walking, talking, highly entertaining knowledge engine with a sense of humour and zero fluff. Marko doesn’t just know things. He connects them. History, politics, culture, daily life, Dubrovnik as a community... And yes, Game of Thrones. Of course. How could it be otherwise. It's all woven into one coherent story that actually makes Dubrovnik make sense. What stood out: - He explains and does not just recite a rehearsed script. - He’s funny without trying too hard. Natural, sharp and quick to quip. - He’s honest. No sugar-coating. At least so we felt. - He’s grounded in the local community. And then there’s the unexpected layer. Marko is a former professional Lindo dancer, athlete, culturally immersed. Marko lives the place, and it shows in every conversation we had with him. If you want a checklist tour, look elsewhere. If you want Dubrovnik to actually come alive, Marko is your guy. Full points from our party of three!

We had a tour of the Prado Museum with Govi and she was great! She helped us navigate the Prado Museum in a fun and informative way. The Prado has so much to see that we could have easily been overwhelmed! Govi knew how to show us the pieces that gave us a great overview. She has a depth of knowledge of history and art history and she was able to show us how to understand the art in a way that opened up our understanding of the art and artist in a way that we would not have been able to on our own. She made it fun and interesting, at the same time!! We would highly recommend a tour of the Prado with Govi she was great!!

Sandra had lots of knowledge to impart about Stockholm and Sweden. We liked the small things she pointed us to, like passageways, a gourmet food hall and a 3d model of the whole city. Very charming and helpful. Despite her great performance we found the price charged by Withlocals to be very high at 280 euros for two people for three hours.

During a recent trip to Europe, I booked two tours with Withlocals, one tour in Paris and one in Amsterdam. Both were with very highly rated guides. I booked the most premium tours since I was taking my parents around Europe for their first big trip.

The first one in Paris canceled literally minutes before our tour. Luckily I scrambled and found a tour option via our concierge.

The second tour was a canal boat cruise I booked for my parents in Amsterdam while I had to work. The boat tour guide was a no-show, and my parent's day was ruined. It was a 600 Euro tour, so again not cheap.

Withlocals refunded both tours, but the damage was done. Luckily I had other activities planned during the trip and it was good overall, but those two tours really rained on our parade.

I won't use Withlocals ever again.

It was a fantastic food tour through Kadikoy (Istanbul). Our tour guide, Ayse, is very knowledgeable, not only about the food but also about the history of Turkey. She shared many interesting facts you wouldn't otherwise hear. A tip is to do this tour at the beginning of your stay in Istanbul! In short, we thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Our morning tour of the main sights of Sultanahmet, Istanbul, was with Latife, Dilek’s colleague with WithLocals. We were interested in the history behind the buildings and areas we visited, including the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, the Blue Mosque and the Basilica Cistern. Latife is intelligent, highly educated and incredibly knowledgeable about not only the particular sites we saw but also about the relevant history of Constantinople and Istanbul and Turkey, going back two thousand years. We booked three hours, but Latife stayed with us for over 4. Her English was perfect, she was funny, engaging, listened well. My wife and I could not have been more pleased to have had her as our guide and introduction to this fascinating city.

We took the hidden gems of Paris tour with Anna on April 17th. Anna totally customized our tour to a list of places that my husband wanted to visit. She shared many facts and lots of history throughout the day and even surprised us with a sweet treat from a pastry shop. Anna is warm, friendly and delightful. Thank you for a great day!!

Gautam was an amazing local guide. We could not have wished for a more informative and kind person to share the delights of Mumbai. Together with Gautam we crafted an immersive tour of Mumbai which included a person tour of the blue laundry and the slum areas - we were able to see the inner workings of both, plus much more including a local train journey and spice markets (my favourite). My wife and I would highly recommend Gautam. His English language was first class.

Our group had the best time with Sebastian!! We learned, not only about the food but so much about the history of Gaudi and the city of Barcelona! And we left feeling like we had made a forever friend!! He was just so authentic and fun! Highly recommend booking “with locals”! We will!

Found a brilliant guide for a private school group tour at quite late notice. Great to be able to read about the actual guide you will have.

Just so grateful that we hooked up with Viktorija. We were a school group of 13 pupils, and we booked a private tour at reasonable rates. Our tour was 9-11am on a Sunday morning. Vilnius town centre was deserted - it felt like ours alone to explore. Victorija gave us an incredible overview of the history of both the city and the country. She was also flexible - including a trip up Gediminas Hill at the the last moment, and being sensitive to the needs of some of our pupils with Jewish heritage when describing and sensitively including aspects of the history of the ghetto. This tour was the highlight of our trip through Eastern Europe. I cannot give a higher recommendation.

We had so much fun with Maya when visiting Guadalajara on a food tour. We were lucky she could take us on the tour with short notice. Easy to communicate ahead of the tour. We tried so many fun local foods and drinks. We appreciated her sharing the culture of the city and Mexico generally. Highly recommend!

We just returned from a wonderful couples trip. We had Xavier for two tours while we were in Bruges. A city tour as well as a beer tour. Both were fantastic. Xavier truly enjoys sharing his city with people, We learned soo much of the history of Bruges. It's one on my favorite cities in Europe. He gave us a lot of great recommendations on places to eat. The beer tour was equally fantastic. We learned too much about the art of beer and the different kinds. I would highly recommend Xavier for any tour.

We spent a fantastic time with Youssef!! He took us around unconventional spots on our gastronomic tour until we could eat anything else!!! All local genuine places walking around the city quietly. Youssef gave us also a lot of explanation about everyday life in Cairo. We will definitely repeat once we will come back to the city.
