Wickes - Northampton Riverside Omdömen 

I went to Wickes just for a hose attachment. Struggling to find where they are, I asked a member of staff for assistance. Emilia, who was most cheerful, pleasant and helpful, took me to the right place where not only did I find the product I needed, but also stumbled across various tools I didn’t know I needed. I ended up kitting myself out with some useful bits for my toolbox. Through her assistance she indirectly upsold me in my quest for a simple hose attachment. Not only did I receive such wonderful assistance from Emilia, but when I got to the till to pay, I was greeted by Anna who dealt with me with a smile and a wonderful greeting. All of this may sound trivial, but with today’s ever increasing grumpy attitude towards others, it absolutely brightened my day. Both Emilia and Anna’s customer service was the best I’ve experienced for quite a while now. So thank you both.

I dropped by the new Wickes Store on Riverside. Northampton. I couldn’t find the emulsion shade that I needed so asked the assistant on the point-of-sale if they could mix the shade for me. Emilia confirmed they could and took me to the mixing machine where she professionally mixed the exact colour I needed. Great attentive service from Emilia and a credit to Wickes.

Awful Experience – Would Not Recommend
I chose Wickes for a bathroom installation because I expected a professional service and the reassurance of dealing with a well-known national company. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite.
The bathroom was fitted by subcontractors whose workmanship fell far below what I would expect for a project costing thousands of pounds. The first fix of the installation was so poor that I stopped the work and raised formal complaints. Wickes subsequently offered a goodwill payment, effectively acknowledging that the standard delivered was unacceptable.
Customer Services were frustrating to deal with throughout. Questions were rarely answered directly, concerns were avoided, and obtaining anything in writing proved extremely difficult.
When the installation was finally completed, the quality remained poor. Tiles were left unsealed with visible gaps, door edges were unfinished, the shower leaked, and I later discovered the toilet had actually been connected to the hot water feed. Yet when these issues were reported, I was told they were merely "minor defects".
The aftercare process was even more disappointing. My assigned case handler repeatedly failed to address the main issues, often responding to only one point while ignoring the rest. Despite numerous requests to escalate my complaint to a dedicated complaints department, I was continually redirected back to the same person. It felt impossible to obtain an independent review of my concerns.
What should have been a two-week bathroom installation became a seven-week ordeal, made worse by two last-minute start date delays before work had even begun.
The most disappointing aspect is that I chose Wickes specifically because I believed a major brand would provide protection if things went wrong. In reality, it felt like a gamble based entirely on which subcontractors were assigned. The stress caused by the poor workmanship, lack of accountability and ineffective complaints process was worse than the installation itself.
Poor workmanship, poor customer service, poor aftercare and an ineffective complaints process. I would not use Wickes again and would strongly advise others to think carefully before committing to a bathroom installation with them.

I chose the design service for my kitchen and bathroom. My design consultant was Nathan. He made the whole process so easy from start to finish. Went above and beyond to accommodate all the changes I needed to make. Will definitely use again in the future.

Lewis was so helpful, polite accommodating and kind. Could not compliment him more. Will be visiting wickes riverside again - very impressed !

We spoke to Rachel. They were wonderful, she explained the difference in paint and room time to make up 2 very purple paint testers.

My experience was great because of the help of William who went above and beyond in finding extra items that I needed that had run out of from the stores.

Used for years. But the new Northampton branch at riverside is really poor. Unhelpful staff, rude till operatives and to top it … I picked up some stuff from rushden realised I didn’t collect enough so dropped into riverside to top yup and the price was over a quid per unit more expensive?????
Nip into Kettering on way back as it’s my local only to find it at the same price as rushden.. riverside your a con.

We had a complicated paint request and the staff went over and above to help us make it happen. Olivia particularly - she was as amazing - so patient. She also arranged for the other Northampton store to supply the other items. They too were incredibly helpful the following day

I met a manager his name is Paul, and thanks to hime i got what I needed and he was very helpful. Had a problem with a paint tin lid and he replaced it. Until I have a bat exspearance at the shop I will always use Wickes at river side. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Do not go with this company, we are still without a working kitchen for 6 months, their trade men are not to be trusted . Wickes customer service are terrible at getting it sorted ,communication between them keep messing up,the sell man promise that the fitter will be fantastic, it just lies.I chosen painted door because I wanted red,because apparently they are bespoke it has to be fitted by their fitter to keep it under guaranteed!!the units are standard units not bespoke made to measure. So far fitter (who is a electrician by trade)left a broken soil stack which leaked waste into the kitchen every time we have shower or toilet upstair,near open live wires which is hazardous, took them 2 weeks to repair that.Unit damage and uneven before he even done the electricity work and plastering which should have been done first! so no work top and sink with running water and hobs.They already replaced the units that was damage from first fitter,but they still send another terrible fitter,more damage and badly fitted !!The only thing we haven't come across are the worktops fitter because it never happens because of kitchen delays.
It not acceptable and thry are getting away with this.we got 4 adults in this small house and this suppose to be a nice experience but no we are doing all the chasing and emailing in between our working time,feel like we working for customer services. I just loss my Dad last month and really didn't need this.

Popped in today for some building sand and a bag of repair tarmac and was expertly assisted by Lottie who’s customer service was spot on today, she spent the time to show me reviews from her phone on how to make it softer to work with as first impressions you’d think it was too hard to work with.

Wickes Design Consultant visited me at home and was prompt and professional. He understood my design brief exactly and was highly professional. Excellent and reliable service from Wickes.

I went to the Wickes in Northampton Riverside Retail Park. I purchased some compost and was on my way back to the car with my friend who has a disability. Paul, the store manager called out and asked if we needed a hand. We were struggling to get the bags in car and he came over ,put the bags in the car for us. He wished us a good day. Thank you so much Paul for your assistance, you are a credit to Wickes.

We have just had our new kitchen installation completed, purchased from Wickes at Riverside Northampton and installed by Leon’s Renovations. The design created by Jamie Matcham was absolutely fabulous, he gave us everything we wanted plus more, nothing was to much trouble even when we wanted to change part of original design, including additional building work not originally planned. We highly recommend Wickes at Riverside, Northampton, they are a great team of people, led by the extremely helpful store manager Paul.
We will not hesitate to go back and use this store again. Thank you all. G & M

Came into see Cameron Barton, what an absolute pleasure to come across, very knowledgeable and friendly. Gave me a breakdown an assurance was given especially when it comes to your kitchen. He also stayed behind to go over everything with me. Wickes lucky to have a member of staff like Cameron!
