Wickes - Alton Omdömen 

Guyo was very helpful, found what I was looking for and very friendly as always

We recieved excellent help in our visit to Wickes, Maz was wonderful and gave us all the information we needed to know to help us with our home renovations.

I was served by Jon, who was brillaint and very helpful. If only all staff were like Jon.

Absolutely lovely service by Guyo who fulfilled all of our needs ☺️

I went in with a list but was not sure where to find everything I needed.
Then Guyo said could he help me, he had a warm smile and keen to help.
He helped me with everything even selecting the wood and checking it was straight.
He was polite and caring this is obviously part of his nature and not just a job. He is an asset to the Wickes team at Alton.
When I went to pay the queue was long he jumped on an extra till to help us all.

I had missed ordering a part for my taps and Guyo couldn’t have been been more helpful.
He sourced the part I needed and called me to let me know, excellent customer service which sadly is lacking in a lot of companies, Wickes is lucky to have you Guyo! Thanks so much.

Winchester Wickes could learn a thing or two from the Alton store. The staff are so helpful and attentive and more importantly knowledgable. The lovely young guy Jack was a credit to the company as well as Guy, who carried my goods to my car and Yvette who gave me information on the product I brought. I had a very negative experience in the Winchester Branch. I spend a lot of money in Wickes

Alton wicks isn’t great for product or should I say lack off however thank you so much to Guyo 100% without a doubt the most helpful staff member. Incredibly helpful and lent a hand whenever he could as well as helping us understand certain things and simply brightened our day I must say all places need a person like you. I’m always impressed with how helpful the staff are at Wickes. Recently I experienced excellent service from Guyo at the Alton branch when he mixed some paint for me. He was very attentive and cheerful :)

Our visit today was made an enjoyable experience when we met one of the staff his name was Guyo.
Guyo was not only a big help giving us advice on some products but also asked if we were Wickes trade members. He helped us join being very patient lol and also saving us 10% off our purchase.

I had a problem with some paint I'd had mixed for me at the store. GUYO was extremely helpful, calling the manager, explaining the issue and then replacing the faulty product. No fuss, just calm, efficient customer service with a warm St Lucian smile. Thank you!

All the staff in the Alton branch were helpful and offered advice and assistance. I now have the extra garden storage I needed and Jon was there to help squeeze it into our rather small car so we could get it home today.

A mystery in terms of their stock range

I learned a long time ago that most staff have very limited knowledge of/interest in stock. I understand that - to a point. But only so many blank looks make sense when it comes to product sales. But I shouldn't blame ignorant staff. One out of 4 took an interest and tried to find out what I was looking for - which is probably about average. A long time ago I bought a Wickes bathroom thumbturn and release and my own ignorance of detail comes into play now. I have fitted a number of mortice locks and a couple of the kits with indicators and external opening when the bolt is on, but, as I said, I have a part set and need, as the packaging says, a bathroom mortice lock - with a smaller diameter spindle and bolt, etc. They still sell a version, have a row of them in the store I went to. They also have a line or two of ordinary locks, etc. Not a sign of the smaller parts I need. The speculation from staff was that they would only aim to meet the needs of people who simply wanted to change the visible parts. And why on earth would the people at Wickes responsible for stock think that was a good thing? Not that we know. I can't rule anything out, but is it competent to offer a part and not the component that gives it any point unless there is an existing installation and someone changes that for random reasons. Wickes make no sense to me. They have some very good products and sometimes decent pricing, but they don't seem to be serious at times like this. It WAS NOT the Alton Way branch, that was generated by the input process and I didn't correct it as I probably should have in hindsight. Maybe they randomly do have the

Wickes have reached out to me to tell me that the stock is available - but not yet where. In the mean time I have bought a mortice lock from Toolstation - but I do need to get a spindle as they don't sell them apparently
