Bought on Groupon but they won’t let me redeem it without playing a $180 upcharge. (For an airport on their preferred list)
I just want a refund!
I booked a 6 day trip to Dublin for me and 3 of my friends. I filled out the form with my preferred travel dates and all traveler information and waited to be contacted. The first 2 days, they kept calling me outside of my availability that was listed on the sheet I filled out. The 3rd day when we were finally able to get on the same page, they offered me 2 options for flights. One was for 3 full days in Ireland with long layovers to and from. The second was a direct flight for 4 full days and an additional $349 cost. I said I’d call back after I confirmed with my group, my group said they would prefer the layover and I called back saying we will take the initial option with the layovers. Priya then told me no, she had better options she would email me and we can discuss them the following morning. When I again called and said no we still want the initial option, they said it was fully booked.
It then took an additional $540 and 5 hours on a phone call to get even remotely close to the original plan. They had departure locations wrong, date of births wrong, and did not listen to anything I originally asked for. They just wanted to make extra money on top of the thousands of dollars I already paid.
I will never book with this travel agency again and will inform Groupon what kind of agency they are partners with.

UPDATE AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE:
After posting this review, the company acknowledged that they saw my negative review at the very start of our phone conversation, which immediately raised concerns about how customer complaints are being handled.
During that call, I was told that it would be “impossible” to list all blackout dates due to there being 365 days in a year. However, these restrictions directly impact the usability of the deal and should be clearly disclosed upfront—not discovered after purchase.
Despite explaining the situation and providing proof of the additional charges I had to pay, the company still refused to offer a reasonable resolution, including a partial refund of the $220 I initially requested.
At this point, it feels less like a misunderstanding and more like a lack of transparency and accountability. I gave multiple opportunities for this to be resolved directly, but no meaningful effort was made to correct the issue.
I have also documented this experience across multiple platforms to ensure other customers are fully informed before purchasing.

Before posting this reply, your company also flagged my review to Trustpilot as “defamatory,” which resulted in my review being temporarily hidden while it was assessed. After reviewing the content, Trustpilot determined that my review did not violate their guidelines and reinstated it.
For clarity, my review reflects my personal experience with this booking process. My concern was never about Frontier’s baggage fees. My concern was the lack of transparency regarding travel date restrictions and additional charges.
When I initially purchased the Groupon, there were no blackout dates listed anywhere, and a Weekender representative even confirmed that they were not published. However, after I paid the additional $220 to secure my selected dates, blackout dates later appeared on the Groupon listing.
In your response, you mentioned that surcharges and travel conditions are normally included in the promotional terms and that deals cannot be amended once they are live on Groupon. That is exactly why this situation was so frustrating — because the restrictions appeared to change after purchase.
Customers simply deserve to see all restrictions and potential surcharges before purchasing, not after additional payments are made.
I appreciate the response, but transparency upfront would have prevented this entire situation.
I tried to deal with this situation with Weekender Breaks to no avail…
I purchased a Groupon for a mystery location. We got Orlando, FL. Cool. Flight with Frontier, not bad except when you purchase bags AFTER they book your flights, your carryon/checked bag pricing goes up to about $75 each leg of the trip. The hotel was far from the airport. I talked to them about that and they ended up giving me another option. Here is what I didn’t like. When I initially purchased the Groupon, there weren’t ANY blackout dates listed. However, I was told that if I wanted the date that I picked, I would have to pay an ADDITIONAL $110 per person which ended up being an ADDITIONAL $220. I even told the Weekender agent via phone that had I known there were blackout dates from the beginning, I wouldn’t have purchased! He then told me that they weren’t published anywhere. So what happens AFTER I paid the $220? They went on Groupon and added blackout dates!!! For those reasons above, DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING FROM WEEKENDER! They’re scammy and sketchy! Avoid at all costs, LITERALLY!

This was my best experience yet! Samrat was kind, patient, looked for the absolute best deal for us and we are so incredibly pleased with the holiday he has booked for us. We chose to have upgrades, and these have made what would be a good holiday (and a good deal) into a fantastic one, flying from the airport of our choice (so much easier!) and with gorgeous hotels.
I cannot praise Samrat highly enough and would absolutely recommend his services - and that of Weekender Breaks - to anyone.

My friends and I booked what we thought would be an epic trip to Thailand. We booked it through Weekender Breaks and almost the minute they received our payment in full they no longer worked to ensure our trip was what we asked and paid for.
When one airline changed a plane configuration they wouldn’t help us to change our seats. We tried ourselves and when we called the airline THEY TOLD us that our booking agent had to. Some of us were no longer seated together on 13-14 hour flights.
Then one of the “resorts” Weekender Break selected had horrible conditions. Brown water coming out of a bathroom sink, mold in a bathroom, exposed electrical wires and primary entrance doors to the outside that were not very secure. Weekender did relocate us the next morning to our original location...after charging us and additional $249/pp ($747). Even though we had flights already paid for. Why not change those? They later offered us $100 each (total $300) as a goodwill gesture. However, we receive a copy of an email from Bedsonline (subcontractor to Weekender) had offered us a 10% reimbursement on the total amount of our trip cost. WHICH WE NEVER RECEIVED. When we asked to see the breakout of the reimbursement, Weekender said the reimbursement they offered was all that we would receive. Then said the resort manager had offered us an upgrade, which NEVER HAPPENED. The only conversation we had was when I went to inform them of the brown water coming from the bathroom sink and shower. He offered to provide me with bottled water to wash my face and brush my teeth. Great how to I shower?????
In my opinion Weekender Breaks is a below standard travel agency who ruined the only chance we had to enjoy the beaches and coastline of Thailand. I would not recommend them nor ever use them again.

We felt that once Weekender Breaks had our money they stopped trying. First, when an airplane change caused us to lose our initial seat assignments, and the airline separated my husband and I on an overnight flight, Weekender said they could not help, although the airline kept saying they were the only ones who could make the seat changes for us. Consequently, my husband and I were on opposite sides of the plane for an overnight flight. Second, accommodations at one of our hotels was so bad; brown water coming out of the sink, mold in the bathroom, exposed electrical wires, unsafe area, and unsecured doors. Contacted Weekender who did relocate us the next morning to our original location...after charging us $249/pp ($747). Afterwards they offered us $100 each (total $300) as a goodwill gesture, although we heard that Bedsonline, a subcontractor to Weekender, had offered us a 10% reimbursement on the total amount of our trip cost. When we asked to see the breakout of the reimbursement, Weekender started spinning lies about what transpired between the manager of the hotel and us, which never happened. We believe Weekender is a below average travel agency, and would never use them again, or recommend that anyone else use them. SCAM from the start!

I am very upset with “Weekender breaks” and would never buy holidays there. If I could advise myself from my future about that day when I booked holiday with them – I would say myself NO, as what seemed to have good deal then is nothing today.
I booked my holidays 4 months ago and paid 100% for flight and accommodation. My flight departure time was given wrong – 40 minutes earlier in real time comparing with their paperwork given information. And I booked transfer from destination airport for that wrong time…
I found out about this info discrepancy myself by total accident, not by provided information by “Weekender breaks”, which supposed to be. When I called their office twice – I was told that this is not a big problem and informing me about that they did not feel obligated. And no one agent there said sorry for that… That is normal there: you pay 100% for a service in advance and they do not take responsibility for their bad service and wrong information.
